The description of that CPU reminded me of how some scummy sellers in my country (Poland) describe old AMD APUs as having 10 cores. Their reasoning is that 4 cores and 6 CUs (or as they call them, "graphics cores") makes the APU a 10-core.

I do have a G4560 with 8GB single channel 2133MHz memory, and it's a pretty good CPU, even in 2020, when paired with a decent GPU. I have it paired with a 1660 Super though, and combined with the memory bottleneck, the only things that look decent are the graphics and the average fps. The stutter makes open-world games very, VERY hard to play, especially Warzone, which just gives up trying to render the frames when an enemy is at mid or close range, and skips straight to me dying. I'm looking to get a CPU and memory upgrade, but the used market here in India is just so shit, so it'll take a while, it seems

There is an actual rare 6-core CPU on the LGA 2011 platform, called "Intel Blackops". It's based on Ivy Bridge-EP and rated for 4.6 GHz, with a whopping 250 W TDP.
The problem was not many motherboards could run it at 4.6 GHz without touching the base clock, and depending on the leakage of the CPU, it would be throttled down to 3.9~4.3 GHz when all cores were utilized. There is also a 4-core version rated for 4.4 GHz, which exhibited the same throttling issue, albeit to a lesser degree.
Simply put, those are just collectors' items, not worth using at all, since you can easily overclock a Xeon E5-1650/1660 v2 (i7-4930K/4960X) to 4.6 GHz on all 6 cores and 12 threads.

Might be a tad difficult to get things like RAM at a similar spec to reduce system memory bias, but just an interesting idea.

I'm actaully still using an Intel Pentium G4600 with my good old GTX 1050 and 16 GB of DDR4-2133 RAM as my main system. It's a bit annoying that I'm not able to play The Crew 2 while talking to my friends on Discord, but I'll be getting a PC with an AMD FX 8100 (or 8300, can't remember right now), 16 GB of RAM and an GTX 1060 6GB for free soon, so I'm not gonna complain.

Two things. There are genuine 6 physical core parts for every Intel i7 series going all the way back to first gen, but they were formerly only available on LGA 1366 and LGA 2011 sockets. Secondly buying a CPU like this solely because the ad is curious is weird as it takes 2 seconds to confirm what I just wrote :p

With warzone apparently MSi's Riva RTSS crashes it so changing the app detection level to off will fix it, though you wont be able to use the OSD monitoring so you could use FRAPS.

Actually.... Kaby lake had only 4 cores yes, but coffee lake did have a 6 core cpu. The i7-8700k was an 8th generation i7 with 6 cores and 12 threads, and it came out in 2018 in response to AMD's first generation Ryzen processors.

Intel's Coffeelake had 6 cores right? That's the 8th gen, when Intel upped the core count. The 8700K had 6 cores and so did the i7-8750H(Mobile) having 6 cores as well.

I used a Pentium Gold G6500 and it was not bad. I got it for about $60 but the one before that was only 2 core but it was unlocked and it OC'ed nice. I only had that for a month as I was able to get the 9900K the end of November. Still Nice Budget CPU.

Luckily, i've only seen a few of those here or similar ones. Seen one that counted both cores and threads as cores and a couple that counted threads as cores like "4 cores/8 threads = 8 cores". Also, "I don't think any of Intel's Coffee Lake cpu's had 6 cores". Well, they did, 8600(k) and 8700(k) were 6c/6t and 6c/12t, i have an 8600k. Coffee Lake was the first Intel mainstream platform to feature more than 4 cores. I actually have a G5400 in my second system, got it for 25€ and while it's not an impressive performer, i will say that paired with an RX 580 8gb, it actually performs reasonable at 1080p

1:57 actually there IS a 6-core Coffee Lake CPU (2 different models actually), since the term "Coffee Lake" actually applies to both 8th Gen and 9th Gen Intel CPUs... the 8th Gen i7 is 6c/12t and the 9th Gen i5 is 6c/6t... and both are "Coffee Lake" CPUs.
I'm a 9th Gen Intel owner myself, and have an i7 8c/8t CPU. My girlfriend has a Kaby Lake 7th Gen Pentium with a GTX1050 in her system and it games okay... i was thinking about upgrading her to a Kaby Lake i7, but even used prices are pretty high for a 4c/8t Kaby Lake i7 ($250-ish). Might be cheaper to buy a 10th Gen i3 with a new MB, which is crazy.

That's a pretty powerful chip. Something I don't see in my Ryzen that I see with a lot of Intel chips is near 100% CPU usage. Sometimes I want to see my Ryzen reach that level of CPU usage in games. Am I crazy?

CoffeeLake is 8th gen, which goes up to 6 cores/12 threads, which is the Core i7 8700K/8086K, so yes, CoffeeLake did have CPU's that had 6 cores, you're thinking of Kaby Lake, which topped out at 4 Cores/8 Threads.
The seller knew exactly what he was doing imo, if his account hadn't disappeared straight afterwards I'd think differently, but for him to falsely advertise something and then disappear afterwards is rarely a coincidence in my experience.
Oh, and that line of thinking with adding core count to thread count never disappeared btw, you still see systems advertised with 10GHz CPU!!!! When in reality it's a 4 Core CPU at 2.5GHz. (Usually an AMD APU sold in a "gaming computer")
