Excellent! I had one a lot like this in a dugout I had once. I built it in the wall. Surrounded it with softball size rocks. Cooked right on top of it. Best home made stove I ever made. We have made a lot like this in the State of Maine in our hunting camps
I'll tell you another thing we use to do. We used another end of the barrel and would put it on top and use it as an oven to cook in. We had it so it was removable.
WOW! Nice work! 👍🏼 That's a excellent design! I didn't realize you had power tools 😅 but it would have been terrible trying to do something like that without them.
You should always think before doing something 👌 There are several ways to make and transform a barrel and do several very useful things in survival thank you 🙏
Athos you are amazing with everything you do, but still surprised me every time!!! The stove is incredibly and I can wait to see the finish product because I know is going to get better.Stay safe and healthy,❤for you and Tarok from Boston❤
Thats a lovely well designed stove 👌 do you reckon if you put a baffle plate under the chimney to stop the flames coming out, the wood would last longer
That's a pretty awesome build, but I have a question. How does the damper work, with the slits in the bottom of the burn chamber? Won't it just draft from there?
That will give off a lot of heat, you won't need a big fire in it like you did here to clean it out, so you can use a lot less wood than with an open fire. It will be very efficient, and you can move it to new shelters whenever you want!
Beautiful job once again I’d love to see you take one a small rocket mass stove project with a cob bed to retain the heat as I love your work with mud clay and cob sir once again beautiful work
I dont have a barrel but I do have a military ammo box and a bunch of old soup cans 😊 wish me luck just looking for something to cook on outside...thanks for the video.
all saucepans and metal containers are very good for survival. any pieces of metal are very necessary in a survival camp! thankyou very much for your comment 😊🙏
Maybe next one you make, add a knob to the air-flow dial/vent wheel. Another edit could be to make it triple decker; ash drain, fire box, oven, and *then* the stove top? Meh. This is still brilliant.
Easier way than that by having the drum horizontal & cutting the door out of one end and the hole for the chimney on the top (or side). you can add a flat top later and some kind of base.
No safety discussion about cutting (producing sparks) into a closed space that may have contained flammable material? This is why be extremely careful with following Utub vids! Cutting into barrels like this without proper precautions is extremely dangerous.
Most people are taught that when they learn to use the tools in the first place. Others just use common sense. And the rest? Well, here's to natural selection 😁
It life span is small and not also durable, I think U should make a new version of this stove with something extra for durability and long life span of this stove
for the moment I'm still here, i have a another project and going to another place much more interesting and favorable for survival for soon 😊👌😍I'm going to start everything from scratch !!!
A lot of clues make me think it smells like Gascony area see you soon Mister mystery !
You are pissed and I understand! I think most of your viewers don’t understand what’s coming! Of course you have power to build stuff that keeps you alive when the power goes out! I love the basic stuff that will help people survive. They won’t remember most of it but all you can do is try! I like what you do but want a voice and reason why!!!!!! Talk to us! Not all of us are idiots!

I'm going to use this wood stove in one of my sheds. obviously I planned to surround it with some rocks !😁👌
I'll tell you another thing we use to do. We used another end of the barrel and would put it on top and use it as an oven to cook in. We had it so it was removable.
I'm just going to cook . a new video coming soon with the final edit in my shelter
Athos, your skill level amazes me. I'm disabled and can't do anything, but I still like watching your videos to learn.
Thank you!
Wow! What a lovely well built stove you have many talents in your arsenal.😊
Thank you !!
👍 Turning something old into something new good work Athos 😁👌
a wood stove is not easy to find. for me it's a very good solution 🙏😊👌

I have that exact same grinder, lol. Very cool build. Looking forward to your next creation!

Muito bom trabalho senhor Athos ! Ficou ótimo !
thank you very much for your comment 🙏
Great job. First one I've seen without a welder.
Thank you 🙏
Good training for survival in the future !! Hard times require preparation skills !!
Thank you very much for your comment 🙏
Awesome💡
Excellent job 👍

Hey Athos, I love your channel. EXCELLENT CONTENT! Thank you so much, and please keep it up!

❤ I Love it. ❤. Great Stove !!
impossible to make a transformation without certain tools thank you very much for your comment 🙏
Very well done Sir.🎉
Thank you 🙏
Nice Job!!!!!
You might want to put a damper in the chimney to slow down the burning stop the heat from going up the chimney.
you just have to close the gate to slow down the fires . For now I'm just testing to see how it works. Thanks again for your comments !
You're a regular Leonardo DaVinci 😃👍👍
This design lends itself to many applications 😉
BRAVO😎👍👍

Very interesting. Thank for video.🙂
Thank you to 🙏
That was so nice to watch and thank you for the tip.
Thank you ! 🙏
I had similar idea, but wasnt sure exactly how i would cut it. I knew if i cut it in the right place then it would still connect to itself
That looked like a fun project good sir! Just curious, what country are you located in? I'm in the US (Texas).
Oregon 🇺🇸 thank you 🙏
Top notch!
Awesome video!!
Thank you 🙏
So cool, thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much 🙏
That's a pretty awesome build, but I have a question. How does the damper work, with the slits in the bottom of the burn chamber? Won't it just draft from there?
Amazing job! Well done
Thank you 🙏
Super cool my friend. Great job! No welding as well!
Thank you 🙏
Please make a gasifier. Turn wood into gas or gasoline!
Salut l'ami ATHOS, jolie et efficace 👍👍👍
Merci beaucoup mon ami 🙏
Very cool and cost efficient
Thank you very much 🙏
Здравствуй 👍
Thank you 🙏
Ficou lindo, parabéns ❤

Obviously this stove is easy to transport and use in a large shelter because it is too powerful and not recommended for mini shelters.
Good job !
Thank you
Nice stove.
I have a double barrow stove in my garage.
you have to use them thank you very much for your comment .
That's ingenious😗
That dial is so mysterious
Is it a dial that goes to some timeline?

👍❤️
just one word: Ingenious. But the question comes to mind, how are the ashes poured out, wouldn't it be bad to put a metal container for the ashes down
the ashes are just below 👌
Goodyear job!
Thank you 🙏
What is that black stuff you painted on the stove? 10:49
I use leftover black paint with a little thinner 😁👌
Maybe next one you make, add a knob to the air-flow dial/vent wheel. Another edit could be to make it triple decker; ash drain, fire box, oven, and *then* the stove top? Meh. This is still brilliant.
yes there are several possibilities but also a second barrel is necessary. maybe one day I will come back. you have to find the barrels !
Easier way than that by having the drum horizontal & cutting the door out of one end and the hole for the chimney on the top (or side). you can add a flat top later and some kind of base.
Yes exactly ! you can do this in several ways 👌
No safety discussion about cutting (producing sparks) into a closed space that may have contained flammable material? This is why be extremely careful with following Utub vids!

I cut directly because I knew it was a food barrel which contained oil

you can't know ! thankyou very much for your comment 🙏
👍
The problem with using barrels is that they rust through very quickly once you have burned in them.
Exactly 👌
Meserie !!! 😀👌

The drum will burn out much sooner than sheet iron or cast iron, of course. But it will work fine until then.
Thank you 🙏 it works perfectly !

Really? You have to draw a line? There is a clear distinction between the 2 surfaces you are drawing the line on. No line necessary.
Why not put the fire at the bottom and.use the top as an oven
Nice work! Painful to watch since I have a nasty metal splinter in my finger right now.
Thank you 🙏

You said something about your location being bad in a community post.
yes I plan to move I have to find another forest that I like and have a water source and better land for the garden .
