forget fighters....imagen a selection of drones , a line of bays just churning out hunter killer ones to seek out any strategic bomber groups or capital grade missiles , interceptors to swarm around the carrier and protect it...giant sized captial ship crippling cruise missiles for counter attacking , leaches and scavanger models to devouer anything dead or outright start 'eating' the opponents ships while they still are fighting to fuel ther 'mother's whomb.....hoppefully in reality we can spread out in ouer system without that sort of event being the thing that defines uss leaving the world we ruined....but its such a hard to resist concept to fuck with in space engineers.
Or a supercarrier that projects and builds carriers that are sent out and project and build fighters during battle or a even bigger supercarrier that projects supercarriers that project carriers that project fighters during battle. only a true madlad would even try
Not "fighters" as fighter crafts of course but drones, drones that can be either placed in rows ready to launch upon player control, or drones that will just be thrown out either to fly away as decoy OR to be player controlled as soon as a drone is needed, or thirdly; Drones that is automatically constructed with minimal survival capabilities but with the function of flying towards the enemy ship and explode. Since in SE it seems most prudent going with drones only for PvP combat, as a player down and needing to respawn is a player down for the time that takes.

Me being fairly new the SE I do not have the skill needed to go through and try and fix the logic and make it work as it is supposed to. Perhaps if you ever get the gumption to, maybe add a trouble shooting tutorial or fix it tip signs in the world. (or even a video tutorial - which I know is a huge project in itself) Would really be amazing to use in my survival. Perhaps when I get better I can figure out how to fix the small technical issues on my own. Who knows lol. Definitely earned my sub though!

How did you make the pistons and merge blocks do their thing automatically? I'm tryign to test the decoy builder on my new ship to see how well it can function as a defence and I need to have decoys that are on an enemy team - so I'm trying to figure out how to automate the piston extend, merge on, piston retract, merge off and have it on a loop while I shoot everything I've got at it
Nice Build. I've only been playing for 4 days and I build something similar for building small ships. This is just awesome. I am curious how you reset it for the next cycle or change ship blueprints. Im having a lot of trouble with mine when I change blueprints to get it all lined up perfectly for the builder. So what I ended up doing was making a spreadsheet so I can keep the name of my blueprint and a list of the settings for the offset positions for each blueprint to make it line up correctly. Is there a better way to do this? My end goal is to figure out a good setup that would attach to my initial landing craft for a survival game on planetary mode. I have some great Ideas and some very inexpensive setups that would build a ship that fast in maybe 2 x the time for an investment of only 9 welders. I'll try to get a video up for you to look at but would love to pick your brain on some ideas I don't know how to make happen yet.

nah he built it on its own and its available in steam workshop (or in your own mind :p) i dont know there is a way to import blueprints from steam to xbox but i dont think so. but the fun is the building not to have it because afterwards you recognize youre alone in a boring space with an awesome machine. its like a smoker without a garden. heard mods should help but yeah dont know how it works on xbox and i hate having to modding and setting configs up just to have enjoyable games so i pretty much hate keen for the empty world combined with great mechanics.
@The Linker Tinker It doesn't work for me for some reason, what am I doing wrong? I've installed all the required mods, put settings to the requirements, but it won't work.
is there AI that can control fighters during combat? I have never played SE thinking about downloading it. What I want to do is convert a planet into a factory producing endless AI fighters to destroy my enemies. Is this possible?
+r2d2 vs trains: it would be possible to reduce the weld speed by increasing the delay on the welding arms and slowing them down when they retract but I think I will stick with it the way it is. as far as the tool shake... well given the current state of the game I don't think it's possible. Stuff starts to warp into other stuff and it gets rather ugly. If you want to play around with the creation timing then just search for the timer blocks labeled "Buy TB", those are the ones that take care of everything that happens after you press the buy button. Chears and happy engineering. :)

As a new player I am both in awe and daunted by this. So many things I don’t know about this game. Every turn I have more questions!

Great but instead of grinders you should use thrusters so when the ship is destroyed pieces don't fly everywhere if toolshake is on
