- Welcome to Toy Polloi Two. As a follow on from yesterdays unboxing I had a chance to test out some of the repro Transformers and Penny Racer tyres. Let's see how well they fit.

Looks pretty snazzy. Gotta Love Penny racers. Especially with new shoes. Not only do they look good, you get more wheely gription. Lol😂
I use to play with penny racers and 4x4 stompers I think they where called a lot as a kid.
What a great quick fix! Was wondering if they were cast or printed! Looks like a good casting job 👍
They are cast. You can see there is only one finished side. But that's all you needs as the inside is hidden.
Glad they worked out🙂
Very good fit indeed. Thanks
I recently ordered replacement tires for my RiD Optimus and Magnus from them and they look fantastic!
Interesting to the mechanism for the Penny Racer looks the same as the ones for the Throttlebots too.
Takara re-used many parts across their toy lines. The motors are the same, just a different axel is used as it's longer on the TF's.
Love these as a kid
Wow! Thanks for the follow-up video, Dave! Those tires are so good! I love that you have the "Dunlop" detailed side that shows, and the glossier side that does. It takes all the guess work out of putting the tires on, and since you never see the inner tire anyway, it's just fine! Those tires are nicely done!
Any idea off the top of your head how many Penny Racers you have in your collection now, Dave?
Thanks. I have 15 to 20 I think. You'll be seeing most of them in a video over on Toy Polloi in the coming months as I had a few more that need restoring.
I actually think that they are cute and cool. I never had them as a kid, but I immediately get their appeal!@@ToyPolloiTwo
Did Takara (sp?) make a line of McDonalds pull-back cars in the 80s. I had them as a kid and the wheels looked identical
I'm not sure of the answer on this, but it does seem highly likely as , as you said, the wheels and tires where identical and they certainly would have had all the parts and tooling to do it inexpensively for a big corporate order
The McDonald's ones are the only ones I remember
McDonalds did have a line of toys that looked similar. Not made by Takara. You can see all about them here: ua-cam.com/video/SHwD5QDWNBk/v-deo.html&pp=ygUUdG95IHBvbGxvaSBtY2RvbmFsZHM%3D
Penny racers losing thier tyres to transformers, now reproduction transformers tyres on penny racers. Circle of life. Lol
