for those unaware, the flames and floating planets are based on michael kirkbride's original concepts for vivec palace, and it was only cut due to constraints. the orbiting planet models are meant to represent how vivec feels the universe revolves around him.
I know, but this feels like too much. they could've made the planets parts of the dome, like bumps in it, and the flames could be replaced by reflections of water from the inside of the palace, or something. or just a big burning fireplace on top of the main dome. keep it realistic

As a life-long Morrowind fan, I have to be honest and say I am not vibing with this theme selection. The Chimer gold + Dunmer blue of Vivec's skin would combine to create green.. but Vivec is about duality, incomplete dominance if you will. Also why is there a small solar/lunar system floating there -- to highlight Vivec's hubris? This looks like the Legion accidentally invaded Tamriel instead of Azeroth. A cool blue fire at night that changes to gold during the day is 100X cooler and appropriate to Vivec's theme.

I believe it's based on the original concept art for Morrowind. Since Morrowind was released in 2003 I think there's a lot of stuff Bethesda wanted to do that ended up getting axed because of the technical limitations. This is more true to the original artists' vision.
