- THIS is the Absolutely insane and chaotic moment, a Ukrainian tank opened fire in astonishing onboard camera footage from a vicious battle against the Russians. Fierce fighting can be seen in the video as the 46-tonne T84 main battle tank blasts its 125mm cannon, towards Putin's men during the bloody clash, that is understood to have occurred near Kherson.

This video has been posted on other channels. One explanation was that the battle was so intense and chaotic that russian trucks actually drove past Ukrainian armour units. You can see the confusion on the machine gunner's face, kind of, "WTF? Those are russian vehicles!", they passed right on by. This is a problem when two opposing armies use the identical same equipment, weapons and uniforms...hard to tell who are friendlies or who are enemies...that is why the colored tape on helmets, arms and legs.

Skeen, if you watch this clip you'll see flames come from the gunners Ammo box where it got hit which is why he couldn't shoot the weapon
machine gun was broken, tank gun probably doesn't shoot too close
they don't use identical uniforms, vehicles and weapon.
at 00:19 you can see that the ammo box of the Tank upper MG is hit and the ammo is exploding, so after that the MG is unable to be used. Lucky for the Russian Truck driving by.
You can see the Ukrainians hitting the truck windshield. Driver dead. It came to a stop.

Half of the video is cut... you can find it complete on internet.... it begins with the tank firing barrage with the cannon at the russian convoy, then engaging to trap them on the muddy alley and encircle them with infantry on the rears... You see ukrainian infantry at the end of the video... The tank gunner machine gun was hit two times, he throwed away the magazine in fire and was protected by the cap .... You see impacts on the russian truck on the left of the video...

All I see is a frightened ukrainian soldier hiding behind the gun that saved him 2 times in this video. You can see the ammo burning from the first shot and then the upper element bounces from the bullet a few moments later ( edit: if the full video was displayed ).
Also, a tank is not using the main gun on russian truck?? Cause it was disabled or cripled…

The Russian trucks charged these tanks head on after a sniper shot the tank's machine gun. The tank I'm guessing ran out of ammunition for its main gun or something.

The machine gunner can't get his weapon online in time to respond. Someone should have handed up another weapon. Basically, the tank was useless in that engagement, but the infantry seemed to have taken things in hand. A platoon commander should have a talk with that tank commander about being prepared and about contingency plans so he could at least lay small-arms fire on truck. An assault rifle would have been plenty enough to stop that truck entirely.
So you think the tank was out of ammo.? Maybe it had just fired before the video started.
@Bemus Aletheia More the tank barrel. Why didnt it blow that truck away if it was RU. I think the machine gunners can got hit and exploded, and he had to change it out. Its a mad scene.
The machinegun was in the process of being reloaded or it was jammed from heavy earlier firing. As for the tank's main cannon, it has 22 rounds of ammunition in the autoloader with more stored in pieces around the hull. Filling this autoloader during combat is simply not possible.
But you are correct that a simple folding stock AKS-74U in the commander's hands would have done the job. Tank crews would usually have such a backup weapon beside the commander inside or on the roof of the tank attached with a strap and spring hook for fast access.

Some dudes on the side of the road were firing at the truck too. Seemed like truck driver was trying to take cover behind the tank. Tank pulled aside.

Nordic overlap is hard to beat. Designated to bring all guns point blank and draw out aircraft to be open game from above leading to high friendly fire. Unable to truely prevent as it has been proven to be sincerely effective. Defensive fire tactics where you move awkwardly. Takes considerable action to beat. Many confuse on both sides to be a feighn.

I don't see anything, no hit on tanks I can see no fire no ammo racks exploding no turrets popping....nothing. If anything looks like the tank is covering a retreat.

@@matsch3930 Hi ya, Mat. You are correct, I saw a full video of this engagement earlier on another channel. The breech cover took a glancing hit too, saving that gunner's life, that would have been a head shot. I do not know if the MG was disabled by that hit, I am not familiar with that type of machine gun.

A tank is just about blind in a situation like this without having the commander outside, the commander's periscopes gives only a partial view. The reason he has so much of his body out is that he is getting the machinegun back into operation. It's ammunition was hit by bullets or shrapnel causing a malfunction, seen earlier in the full video.

this is only a short part of the movie in the longer version you can see the magazine of the machine gun being hit. a little later in the film he is handed a new magazine reload and starts firing
That is a belt fed machine gun. It doesn't have a magazine . It looks like the ammo box attached to the gun was hit but the top cover was already open so it may have been a stoppage.

@@murmenaattori6 No I didn't ,a magazine is totally different thing to an ammo box. A magazine is a part of the weapon an ammo box is simply a container with no technical function. Being a Weapons Engineer one knows these things. You're welcome.
@@georgerobert4709 My concern was this was a panic moment. Time to duck down and grab an assault rifle to reengage. Most likely the Russians were met with small arms fire, anyway, which was all they really needed in order to grab up even more Russian equipment. Very hectic moment. I'm glad the tank commander survived it.
@@georgerobert4709 I know the difference very well being the firearms nerd that I am and having used a belt fed weapon in the military (NSV 12.7x108 AA gun, similar to what is on this tank) I also know the difference between a magazine and a clip. My point still stands that for the layman (most in this comment section) it doesn't matter what the weapon feeds from, what matters is they should know that it's damaged and it's not so simple and fast to get into operation again. You're welcome.

Was the maddest piece of footage, that is impossible to figure out because of the editing. Maybe the tank ran out of ammo, its the only explanation i can find. But why would a ural towing artillery drive down the barrel of a tank. Thats whats so hard to figure out.

Confusion. Both sides use very similar vehicles, ammunition and weapons. There is a possibility they didn't realize it before it was too late.
Actually FYI, theres a bit of footage where he gives the thumbs up to the truck driver. Honestly this must be one of the craziest bit of war footage ever captured in close quarters.
Looked like very poor drills to me. and the machine gunner looked totally confused. The truck was simply playing the odds. Hoping the tank would not be able to lay on with main armament quickly enough. His gamble seems to have paid off, at least as far as main armament is concerned.
@@mokiloke Yes, on another extended replay on another channel, you can see the confusion in his face when he realizes, "...hey, those are russians!" Fog of war, confusion on the battlefield and your enemy is using the same equipment. I would have to change my undergarments after that...lol

The point blank fire completely failed as Ukrainians were totally confused. In fact this edited version doesn't show the tanker drive completely off the road and into a ditch. Russians drove on without a hitch
