if you know your car history you would know that Toyota borrowed the internal dimensions of fords rs 1600 engine ie: stroke lenght, bore size and rod to stroke ratio etc. As the saying goes cant beat them join them.
@@joesredinferno1801 I get that they're both the same displacement and cylinder bore/stroke, they just sound similar the way they're tuned. These grumbly, throaty NA i4 engines sound epic.
Just an observation in passing: Completely disconnecting the linkages between the two carbs and allowing the engine to reach op temp will ensure a more accurate airflow reading to each carb. Does not matter which type of carb, Amal,Zenith,SU,Dell's,Weber,Mikuni etc. Each has to be treated as a stand alone unit.

Should I install twin 40's or 45's on 1557 cc engine, red line at about 7000 rpm. Hill climb cam, but the 1.6 it's not too revy. It's an old Dacia, similar engine with the Renault 12's, normal ones, not Alpine or Gordini.

“Dual duals” make pretty much any engine better. I had dual Mikuni PHH44s on a balanced/built-up B20 1,998cc in my 1963 122S Amazon Volvo with a 4-2-1 header, 44/38 valves, electronic ignition, and an Iskendarian 292° duration camshaft, 10.8:1 CR, 8lb. flywheel, mated to 4.56:1 Pow-R-Lok LSD rearend, and it was a hoot. The sound was amazing, the engine builder insisted it was OK to regularly shift at 7,500RPM. Never dynoed it though, just did several SCCA and local college autocross meetups and two trackdays (Thunderhill)… but otherwise drove it like I stole it on the street! Not nearly as kickass as your Cossie, yet similar in setup.
Unfortunately no. Last time I drove it was in mid 2002. From 1991 - 1998 I had built the car up from stock to "badass" as best I could from just a layperson's abilities (set up the suspension on my own with 0.5mm toe-out/2.5° negative camber/0° caster, for example… I had a race fab shop build the engine). From there I left it in the hands of a what I understood to be a professional and reliable fabrication specialist (in mid 2002) who was going to transform it into a more formidable "pro street" machine... *sigh* The short of it is that he just kind of took the car completely apart over the course of one year, and then one day called me up asking me if I could provide him with the fabrication plans on how to build the car up. Umm, sorry sir, but I thought YOU were the fabrication expert; I am just some guy, and you were highly recommended to me as a capable and credible fabricator. Such a sad story. I ought have studied in automotive trade rather than in a university; I would surely be having more fun right now. The engine ended up in another later model Volvo belonging to a good friend, but obviously over the course of time, and people getting married and raising families… well, you understand; no idea where the engine is now, the bottom end surely was beefy enough for another 100,000 miles of abuse. Life changes.
