Good editing dude
Thank you so much. Really appreciate the feedback!!
I think the audio sounds great. I never vlog, but this would be great for travel or gimbal setups when I want some quality audio. Thanks for sharing!
100% would be a great travel mic. It would work perfectly on a gimbal!!
I need to get on this band wagon with testing these microphones! Gosh another banger! Good job dude!
Thank you Paul. I was watching your video on batteries yesterday. It was really good!
@@BrianTheCameraGuy thanks dude….ya I got a new lens I unboxed last night got to edit it up. You should do this mic vs ecm-b10
I wish. I have to send the ecm-g1 back tomorrow. I ordered the ecm-b10 mic but that will not be in until August.
Super helpful review, thanks!
I don't suppose you ran into any issues with the auto-gain of the mic? Did it manage to keep a good level without jumping up and down too much?
We're picking up a couple of ZV-1s for a couple of colleagues who need to film their own content but are not tech-savvy when it comes to video equipment! So if the auto-gain works well, this could be a super helpful feature!
The auto leveling did great. I just normalized in post. Not much else was adjusted!! It is a very nice mic!!
Wow a lot of background noise. Great for quieter places but fantastic size
Yes, I would agree. Not bad in a pinch but definitely better options out there with more feature. Downside is more cost!
According to Sony Hong Kong technical support department when the a7c2 connects to the ecm-g1 microphone, it can only use analog input. If you use a7c2 with other higher-end microphones, you can use digital input or analog input. So when g1 connect to a7c2, there is no fully automatic audio leveling function. However, on other Sony camera models such as the a74, the camera can continue to use digital input and use the fully automatic volume leveling function.
Regarding this issue, I sent three emails to Sony's technical support department in Hong Kong, China and Japan. Reflecting my dissatisfaction, why do the same microphone have different reactions in different camera models.
I use the a7c2, a relatively entry-level camera, because I hope that using an entry-level microphone, I can adjust the volume completely automatically, without having to spend time manually adjusting the volume.
I have not used the a7c2 but I would think it is a digital signal. If not, then you would be right and it would be an analog signal. I don't think with this mic you can adjust the volume controls. That was one of the cons of this mic.
Hey thanks! How does it compare to the internal mic of the ZV-1? It doesn‘t sound too great without the processing.
I like to process all my audio no mater the mic. Also works perfect with the ZV-1. Audio level is auto and it tries to capture your voice!
it would be great if you could compare this mic to MKE 200. very comparable it seems.
I would love to be able to get my hands on both mics at the same time. Fingers crossed that I will have that opportunity. How did the mic sound to you?
This sounds great! Does this attach to the top of an A6400?
Yes, this mic will work with the A6400, a6100, and a6600!! How did it sound to you?
Will it work with a6000?
I don't think so. The a6000 does not have a mic port, correct? If it does then the mic will work if you plug it into the camera using the 3.5mm cord.
It is impossible to run ECM-B1M and ECM-B10 hot to distortion, because according to some other youtuber it is due to 24-bit float sampling or some similar mumbo-jumbo. Does the same apply to G1 as well?
I don't think the G1 has that problem. It works with all their new and holder cameras.
You mentioned to a comment below that when this mic is fitted to the camera the audio level is set to auto. So; if this mic is fitted to a Sony camcorder using the MIS it defaults to AGC and that's your lot. However, the ZV-1 that you were using doesn't have AGC control only manual levelling which, I assume, is disabled. Also, one YT tester has pointed out that when this mic is used on his Alpha camera all the audio controls are disabled. I don't understand any of this.
This mic is designed to auto gain control for your camera. It was really nice using it with the ZV-1. It was nice not having to worry about the volume.
@@BrianTheCameraGuy Thank you for your reply. If this mic has AGC as you say it has, you have just sold me an ECM-G1!
It does. It is nice not having to worry about the volume levels
I like your video .. but please tell us what is this place?
Thank you so much. Shot this video at the Sterling Renaissance Festival in Sterling, NY. It is really a great time! How do you think the mic sound?
When you said processing on vs raw no processing, what processing did you do?
I did some compression to get the volume level to UA-cam preferred settings. I also do some eq work to improve my voice quality. I do everything in Davinci Resolves Fairlight page.
@@BrianTheCameraGuy thanks for the quick reply!
No problem. Always glad to help.
Did you mount it to ZV-1? That would be perfect, because AFAIK the other digital mics (ECM-B1M & ECM-B10) do not work with ZV-1. Am I correct?
Yes this works perfectly with the ZV-1. It auto adjusts the volume so the volume is perfect everything. Also it tries to capture your voice instead of the background.
Спасибосла. Очень весело.
Thank you very much. I am glad you liked it.
Does this work with a6000?
No it does not because you need a mic jack.
Elon Musk 🌹🌹🌹👌👌
He is fantastic isn't he? How did the audio sound to you?
