I reckon I have watched this 18 set of videos about 10 times now. They are terrific. I found some stuff in here that I had not seen anywhere else - espec in the cursors + dynamic SQL sections ..... and stuff like creating a cumulative list in a variable. Brilliantly explained and invaluable to me in my studies. Many thanks Andrew for producing and uploading.
Mr. Gould, thank you for this series of lectures on SQL stored procedure programming. I am very grateful for the clear and straight-forward method of teaching
i did not take that part with my partners at college so that i google it ,, then i found ur channel , its perfect i got 20/20 in my lab exam ,, thx wise owl
Excellent series. I'm teaching database programming with SQL and C# and this series was very handy. They're clear and professionally produced and my students can refer back to them as needed. Now we're starting to use the series on C#. Thank you!
I've always been interested in SQL but never had the opportunity to get into in more depth until recently. I've scripted for years and finding the SQL stored procedures are simply scripts is making the learning process much easier. The SQL Server Programming courses you've posted are great and I'm enjoying learning from them. Thank you for making and posting them on UA-cam.
Watched all videos (30, the ones related to MS SQL), this is better than school ! You are great. When you gonna find the time to introduce us to more features on MS SQL (like indexes, query optimization etc) ? :)
Thank you so much I'm actually applying for SQL server developer position and I needed this, now can you make a video of what a SQL server developer does
Is this tutorial still applicable in latest version of SQL Server? I wonder if the functions and syntax are changed or kind of outdated comparing from this to the latest one, Thank you.
Hi there! The code shown in this video still works in modern versions of SQL Server, although of course there have been things added to T-SQL since the video was made. The syntax is still the same though! I hope that helps
I had to go back at times, but I'd be lying if i said this wasn't clean and concise. 1-2 parts i was like "but what about", but they pretty much got explained as i continued
Is there a way to update values of different tables without saving created procedure or drop the procedure from with it by dropping the created procedure after doing its content?
Hi Abdullah, you can certainly update values in tables without creating a stored procedure. Something like this: UPDATE MyTable (ColumnName1, ColumnName2) VALUES (Value1, Value2) I hope that helps!
WiseOwlTutorials I could do that but I have to do update different same tables regularly once and a while and it will be easier if that can be done through stored procedure by just passing values to save time. I hope you got my point.
Thanks Alan, agreed that the older videos we made are showing their age. The newer videos are much better quality, perhaps we should do a reboot of this series to bring it up date.
Hey Andrew, will you possibly please make tutorials on "Microsoft Access"? That would be more than awesome; it would be so helpful and help million of people like me!!
This is the first Stored Procedure video i have ever seen in my life
11 years ago and still useful
