The service packages can be great but it feels like they do just enough to get you out of the warranty time. Timing chains on the eco boost, turbos failing or leaking, random seepage of oil, if it’s an AWD model and it has a PTU instead of a proper transfer case you have to service that sooner. Lots of issues issues they know and could warn you about but generally when it finally becomes a noticeable issue guess what outta warranty. And all manufacturers are like that so I guess at least they’re consistent. Also an oil change takes no time I dunno why any tech couldn’t have done it if there wasn’t any lube techs available.
Sit in the parking lot, call Lincoln customer care. When you have someone on the call go into the dealership, put the customer care rep on speaker and have a service rep explain why you can't get the service you paid for. More than likely that service manager is choosing to not service your SUV because it takes up too many resources and doesn't pay the service department well. Also, you don't void your warranty for missing an oil change interval and you should be fine up to 1,000 miles over their oil change interval.
I used to work the parts dept at a dealership and I saw this allot. The service writers got a cut of the work they sell (on repairs and maintenance) but when it came to the automatic/pre-paid maintenance plans they would get nothing so they treated anyone who had them like they were a nuisance and a waste of time. Going to the sales person who sold you the car was absolutely the best move. The sales people would get super pissed (because it may cost them a future sale) and would be up the ass of the service dept until it got done. Sucks for the customer, but it was entertaining as hell to watch.

Bought a Lincoln navigator in 2015 New. Took it to service 16 times for the same thing. Never got fixed. It would shift into 2nd and 3rd gear going 80 mph then shut down. The dealership lied about how many times we had it checked out. Long story short we traded it in and will never buy another Lincoln. I don't drive foreign cars but I would drive the smallest Mitsubishi tin can I could find before buying another Lincoln.I had 5 different service managers cell phone that they wouldn't answer or return calls on... Good luck!
BMW has a perfect system going. A week before the warranty was up, I got a oil change. Three days after the warranty is up, their computer told me I needed $800 brake pads.
That’s very unfortunate Chael. If it’s just minor engine service (oil change tire rotation etc) consider taking it to your local Ford dealer to see if they’ll help you (ford owns Lincoln)
I bought a nice fancy truck last year. Paid extra for tire coverage, it was sold to me, and i qoute: "anything wrong happens to your tire, we will replace it". A month and a half into my ownership of my truck, sure enough, i get a flat tire. Dealership did not replace it, sice it was not poked at the bottom of the tire, but at the edge of it. I was not very nice to the lady who sold me that, i reminded of what she said: "anything that happens to your tire". She ofcourse, denied it!!.
The car is fine to drive, it’s just an oil life indicator, it’s not a oil level indicator, nothing will come from driving a few hundred miles on 0% oil life. It’s basically just a modern version of the sticker on your windshield from yesteryear. Just for example, Lincoln’s own oil change interval recommendation is between 3000 to 5000 miles, that’s a difference of 2000 miles which means by their very own words you can probably go twice as far as the oil life indicator recommends. You’ll be fine.
My 15 Navigator sucked and I loved that car. Would be driving down the hwy 65 and randomly would self shift to 25. So many times took it in - they would do nothing except tell me it wasn’t doing it when they drove it. Same thing happened with sears appliances

Buying a car from a dealership was a very hard but important lesson in my life. I learned that there are businesses that are basically scams. They are just sitting on the very edge of what is legal, doing every possible trick and "not technically a scam" type of stuff... I gained like +30 scam awareness and just a better sense of the world. Gotta be careful out there. I guarantee the car salesman wasn't engaged to this person and that wasn't his "personal cell phone". 100%. id bet my house on it. That's just a lie to make you feel special lol.
I bought it for less then the taxes i paid on my brand new 2020 F150 for a year. Sold the new truck. Not worth it. I even made 10k profit on the sale, having the truck for a year. The app stuff and all that electronics stuff just so overpriced.
I feel ya to my core Unc. Paid double rent this month then a week later my air intake tube in my car came detached (wear and tear) unexpectedly last Monday so I had to pay another 1100 for that. Talk about a rough October lol
As a car guy ive bought most of my cars off of private dealers. Dealerships are always a pain in the ass to deal with, especially their servicing. Ive been lucky to grow up with a diesel mechanic as a father so being able to work and service my own vehicles saves a lot of money and hassle. But instead a lot of swearing and bleeding comes with workin on cars too lol.
Chael is an insanely nice guy; always looking out for workers. "I know you guys totally effed me over and i paid for a service ya'll refuse to provide, and you wont answer my calls, but i know youre working hard so im not mad."
To all the people telling him to change the oil himself or take it to a quick-change shop... you actually void the warranty in some circumstances... trust me its bullshit i understand being an engine guy but you gotta be damn careful with that
Chael, I work for a competitor and I cannot name details in social media without putting my employment in jeopardy; but, I am pretty certain the system is the same as ours. Let me offer some vague ... help. 1st the issue is not as it seems. The dealership is independently owned and operated. For problems with workmanship or personnel, they do not answer to the big multi-billion dollar company, and the multi-billion dollar company has no actual control over the dealership. It is the dealer who has done wrong and the management should do what it takes to make it up to you to keep your business. 2nd the Big corporation is aware that things like this sometimes happen and they want to retain your loyalty. They very likely have a phone # by which people are trying to make a meager living by assisting with cases like yours. Once the issue is resolved, they may make a goodwill gesture that the end of the story is less bitter. The service manager does not actually answer to the big company, but they do tend to sit up straight and attend to business when they realize the big company has become aware of the problem that they didn't mean to cause in the first place. If you have arrived at a place where you are done waiting for that dealer, a simpler solution is to find another dealership to offer your business. It might be a little inconvenient to feel like you are starting over, but it's a good alternative to having to give up the vehicle you love. I don't know if there is a way for private communication, but if you want to contact me, I can be more specific in private. I deal with situations like yours every day.
Some one below said it and I meant to also. The % is a preset for the computer estimated oil life. It is a good rule of thumb, but it would normally not indicate a serious and urgent issue. EXCEPT for new engines with its first several thousand miles. The oil changes are important in the early stages as the motor is just getting its first use. This is why new purchases come with free Maintenance visit(s) in the Factory Warranty set. You are right to be moderately concerned as the Powertrain Warranty can be voided without the prescribed maintenance visits. Being a little close to the % of the oil life, however, should not cause any real damage, however. You should be okay with it if it's taken care of soon.
Man dealerships are so scummy sometimes. I'm sure there's a lot of great people who work at dealerships, but they're literally just trying to take your money anyway they can
It’s not out of oil. The oil is probably still full. It just means you have 5% oil life left. So 5% of that oil is actually lubricating the motor or working the way it’s supposed to work. 95% of the oil has broken down and it’s black and not doing its job properly but the oil is still there. May not have explained that exactly correct but that doesn’t mean there’s no oil in the car lol.

"Come on, you're the gangster with the biggest arms in West Linn, and you've got two of those bad boys"
The one and only Undefeated Uncle chael💪
BMW has a perfect system going. A week before the warranty was up, I got a oil change. Three days after the warranty is up, their computer told me I needed $800 brake pads.
STORY TIME BABYYY
I had to pause this video at 10:05. I'm legit on pins and needles wondering what happens.
Justice for Chael's old lady's Lincoln!
After the sale is done - I can’t let you get close
That’s very unfortunate Chael. If it’s just minor engine service (oil change tire rotation etc) consider taking it to your local Ford dealer to see if they’ll help you (ford owns Lincoln)
You know chael isn’t a car guy when he says floorboards of the car 😅
Please note that, before becoming a family man, Chael never concerned himself with things like "seatbelts" and "airbags" working properly. Gangster.
Later, Chael saw those 5 guys from Lincoln in a hotel lobby.
Car business is dirty, as soon as I heard of this amazing “concierge service” my stomach instinctively tightened.
😅 That’s why I’m a fan of vintage 70’s automobiles. You can’t go wrong with a classic
What if Uncle Chael decides he will just change the oil himself. Cut to 5 years from now, and he is a master mechanic!
Wish Chael did more of these types of videos.. we don’t always need to hear about mma Chael we’d love to hear about your stories and life
Only uncle chael would be able to upload a 12-minute unpaid ad for his family car and get us to eat it up and say "more please"
"unpaid"
@@KostendtO I highly doubt Lincoln called Chael and asked for an add spot on his UA-cam channel
@@Johnvwilliams0 youre right, today is probably the first day in history that Chael did something in the public eye for no monetary reward
Did none of you watch the video?
@@gg-vv6iz i already paid for the service of enjoying Chael's videos, so i don't expect to derive any further benefit from actually watching them
Random insight into the life of Chael are always the best stories.
Best thing chael did was spread the word. Never buying a Lincoln
My 15 Navigator sucked and I loved that car. Would be driving down the hwy 65 and randomly would self shift to 25. So many times took it in - they would do nothing except tell me it wasn’t doing it when they drove it. Same thing happened with sears appliances
If only ridge made cars.
Best story teller ever
Doesn't matter what the situation is, when Lord Chael is speaking, you listen. I honestly love listening to these surprise videos that have nothing to do with MMA its refreshing
Brother, I love what you did. You are not mad; you are not blaming anyone!
But guess what? You have just done this post, and that is far a better PR attack and cost-effective.
I promise this will get them to act. You have a platform, and that is better than anything. To me, you are the big guy and them the petite guy.
Good going!
His off topic video are ALWAYS THE BEST.
Damm only UNCLE CHAEL can make me listen a random car story for 12 straight minutes.😂
UNDEFEATED for a reason.
Same here ,you wait car about one are to haw it . And it is same in all EU. Also prices of diesel and benz and sky hige. Dizel 1 Litar cost 1,80€ crazy expensive. Benz is chipper 1liter 1,65€.
i love these random videos i would love to hear more
I'm going to help you out of this jam.
Here's what you do..
Start running!
Then when it comes time to drop your vehicle off you plan a run while the service is happening. That's what I do, and it works for me!
Seriously awesome hearing regular life chael "stories". Good luck.
I usually like these type of videos from Chael so here we go
Should've bought an Escalade pal. People always regret buying those Navigators.
Charles personal stories are the best!
already know we're in for greatness with this, producers should hire in Chael as final say consultant
Can't wait for the follow up vid "Appliance Issues"
I just finished restoring a 1995 F150 Flareside 5.0, love it
I bought it for less then the taxes i paid on my brand new 2020 F150 for a year. Sold the new truck. Not worth it. I even made 10k profit on the sale, having the truck for a year. The app stuff and all that electronics stuff just so overpriced.
These random Chael stories/rants are what we fans deem, “Black Label” videos
I feel ya to my core Unc. Paid double rent this month then a week later my air intake tube in my car came detached (wear and tear) unexpectedly last Monday so I had to pay another 1100 for that. Talk about a rough October lol
Follow up ride home video is a must.
This is awesome you need to listen to it all
I'm betting you get a call back real soon Chael.
They can also shut that car off if you don't comply
To all the people telling him to change the oil himself or take it to a quick-change shop... you actually void the warranty in some circumstances... trust me its bullshit i understand being an engine guy but you gotta be damn careful with that
Well played Chael. This vid will get more views over the next week than every Lincoln promo combined. And just in time for the Holidays. Genius move.
Chael,
I work for a competitor and I cannot name details in social media without putting my employment in jeopardy; but, I am pretty certain the system is the same as ours.
Stunning and brave
Man dealerships are so scummy sometimes. I'm sure there's a lot of great people who work at dealerships, but they're literally just trying to take your money anyway they can
It’s not out of oil. The oil is probably still full. It just means you have 5% oil life left. So 5% of that oil is actually lubricating the motor or working the way it’s supposed to work. 95% of the oil has broken down and it’s black and not doing its job properly but the oil is still there. May not have explained that exactly correct but that doesn’t mean there’s no oil in the car lol.
