Very cool. These Japanese specials Rotring sets are very interesting. Were these compasses made in Japan or were they German compasses that were packaged in Japan with some Drapas mechanical pencils and ruling pen and horn centre? That foam seems to be a japanese thing. It's also interesting to see a built in extension arm and an additional extension arm.
Very cool indeed. “Made in Germany, distributed by Rotring Japan” is what it says on the carton. The compass heads are engraved “made in Germany” as well.
@@jasonbrentpresley fascinating. It looks like Rotring Japan takes the original german compasses and repacks it and adds the ruling pen and little mechanical pencils. Nice pickup. Maybe I should try and make a custom set with a ruling pen in a rotring set.
