This is why im glad i have the milan premium.(pretty much the same) I dont have cooled seats tho....thats pretty dope. Very interesting video bro! Great work.
If you can find a good deal on them go for it!! There’s a bit of wiring that will be different but if you want heated seats to work I know some guys have used aftermarket heated seat kits too. I’m sure it can be done like factory but cars that come with heated seats have a larger alternator to handle the extra load! My suggestion is to find seats from a 2014 or newer because 2013 passenger seats do not have a vertical adjustment. It feels like you are sitting on the floor!
so it appears, since the MKZ and Fusion are the same platform, the seats are more or less plug and play for basic functionality and a simple upgrade over the Fusion leather seats. But if you want to utilize all of the Lincoln features, then rewiring is necessary. Does that sound about right? Personally I like the Fusion, I think it's overall a nice car, but one long road trip in a 2018 Fusion Titanium made me realize not all leather seats are comfortable. So it's cool knowing there's still one more step up in comfort you can go with the Lincoln seats
The mkz and fusion are exactly the same. The seats if they are the same features are a direct swap. The only thing that would need to be calibrated is the seat sensor. I swapped over my original seat sensor to avoid issues. If the seats are only heat for the fusion and you want only heat mkz seats they will not require any additional work. All the wiring is the same. It only changes when you start adding functionality
I'm thinking about doing this for my 2019 Fusion Titanium. I already have heated/cooled, so I'm wondering if they'd be a direct replacement. They're supposed to be more comfortable than the Fusion's. Also, I wonder why the occupancy sensors would have to be changed if both seats already have them.
It has something to do with the calibration. I think if you have a scan tool that can properly recalibrate the OCS then you could get away without swapping it. It was very easy to swap and prevents having to mess with the system calibration entirely!
Not sure if you still check this video but this was a great help. There is just one thing I am stuck on. For the MS can bus connection I get pin 10,11 to the fcim and 6,7 from the passenger seat but I can't figure out the pins for the driver seat. Do you by chance remember what they were?
Check the pins 10 and 11. This is correct for the drivers seat connector. The pins on the fcim connector are pins 17 and 18. Pin 17 is MSCAN High and 18 is MSCAN Low
Not necessarily but it’s the easiest. You could tap into the MSCAN elsewhere but it’s easiest to tie the two seats together then splice into the FCIM connector like I did.
@@ChadMees I tried to post a comment with an imgur link but I think it got auto deleted. Essentially my question is on the 2020 seats they moved the front seat climate control module to the driver seat. So there are no ms can wires that make a direct connection based on the connectors on the passenger seat anymore. So I only need to go into the MS can connectors on my driver side.
Just sending a follow up I just connected the 6,7 and fcim and 10,11 pins and everything works!! Thanks again for this video. It gave me the confidence to do it myself! I really appreciate it!
great work. I did same hob but I put also the massage seats so from heated to heated/cooled/massage seats. I have a question, how do we install the rear heated seats ?
That is a good question. I did not get the heated rear seats but I assume you would also need the rear vent cover from the center console. As for wiring I have no idea without looking at the factory service manual
Hi, I'm looking for some schematics to upgrade seats on my fusion se. Unfortunately i can't get the 2gfusions thread to load anymore. Any chance you have uploaded your schematics somewhere else?
hello, I have a 2017 ford fusion s model car. I want to buy a driver's seat, but my seat is manual. But I want to buy the power electric seat. is it fits for my car? What you think?
I just bought 2011 fusion leather to put in my 07 fusion but my passenger in mine was manual and new one is power and also the pin connectors are different shape but I'm wondering if I could take each pin out and copy it to the new connector. Is there a diagram or maybe an adapter they sell that would make this a little easier for me? I don't know if the wire colors are the same yet I just bought the seats today. And only tried the one male connector cut from the donor car and still connected to the new seat, and it was same size but the pin layout was a little different. Not worried about heated seats(if they are heated ) just want the seats in front to function and airbags to work. Any help would be great thanks. Jan.30,2022
If you aren’t already join FusionFOES on Facebook. Everyone there is super helpful and I’m sure someone has the exact answer you need. You should be able to add the power seat and get it functioning but it will take some work. If no one on that group is able to help with this swap then my suggestion would be to download the factory service manual and compare the pin outs of each connector!
I would assume seats from the same generation only. It should be possible to use the MKZ seats from a 2012 but the 2013 redesign would likely require a lot of work
Mine were already heated. Some people use an aftermarket heated seat control for them or you can add the wiring. I’m not exactly sure if the wiring is different
im try to put a set of mkz heated and cooled seats in a 1975 c10 truck and cant find a wiring chart for the power and ground to power them up? theres two black and gray wires, and a yellow red on the drivers side and a black and white wire and a gray and red wire and a brown and red wire on the passenger side. they look like power wires but i have no clue.... can you help? thanks
I believe you will need to get an aftermarket control module for the heated and cooling to work. They use CANBUS to talk to the seat modules that is under the passenger seat. I assume your seats are similar to the ones in the video which are from a 2013+
@@glendederick7270 Alright I am looking at the wiring diagrams for each seat. It looks like to get the motors moving is pretty simple. For the passenger seat 34 Pin connector: Pin 21 - (VT-RD) Power (Car side BN-RD) Pin 13 - (BK-BU) Ground (Car side seat frame) For the Drivers seat: Pin 21 - (VT-RD) Power (Car side YE-RD) Pin 13 - (BK-BU) Ground (Car side seat frame) Hope this helps. hi there i change my manual for power seat that i got from the yunk yard everything looks good and works as it should but the air bag light came on,can u help me please
You need to recalibrate the passenger seat or swap the bladder and sensor from your original. I showed this in the video! I didn’t have to do any calibration because I moved the original into the new seat
