dave is a better lyricist and a better artist overall imo, sometimes avelino includes wordplay for the sake of it just to spin words. Dave’s a lot more slick with little punchlines (e.g. the branch and leaves line) which are a lot more subtle but increase effect. what he says has more of a meaning and isnt as forced when it comes to wordplay. Dave tends to take avelinos approach when it comes to features but when it comes to bodies of work like his recent album, it’s another level.
