Thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been trying to find wood paneling and kept coming across slatted options. You did a great job 💕 looks beautiful
I’ve also been trying to find more information on how to recreate this wood panel look. So great and has given me the push I needed to believe I can do it!!
I love the look of midcentury modern walls! For anyone doing a similar project in the future, I would recommend painting the walls a dark color first....so if tiny gaps in the seams appear later they will blend a lot better than tiny slivers of bright white walls.
Brava! Totally impressed. I have a 1964 raised ranch that was a capsule house when we bought it--except for the lower level family room.. Sometime in the 80s, extremely ugly and cheap paper-over-particle-board paneling was installed. I know that the old school luaun would look great, I just didn't have enough courage to go through with it. You have inspired me. Thanks! I do have tips. 1--I would have removed the closet thingie: take off the shelf, unscrew the support boards, and then put in all the paneling. Then, replace the supports. WAY easier, IMHO. 2--I see you are Team Hand Tools. That's cool, but neither hand nor power tools will work unless you use them properly. So for cutting the sheet, you ought to have had both sides of the sheet fully supported and clamped down, etc. Not trying to give you a lesson, but suggesting you get some basic skilz. I like the UA-camr "See Jane Drill." She is a brilliant teacher. Overall, though, you got great results and if you want, heck with extra prepping, do it yourself and do it your way. Keep going.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear this inspired you! Thank you for the tips on the clamps (I eventually found the score and snap method was the easiest non power tool method!) And I'm renting so I was too nervous to remove the closet thing I plan to cover it with a tapestry of some kind in the future! I will definitely check out See Jane Drill because I have so much more I want to learn about woodworking and making my own pieces thank you again for this feedback & for watching ☺
Thank you so much!!! They were super light actually! Just a bit floppy 🤣so it helps to have 2 people working on this diy! Thank you so much for watching!!
