AWESOME your videos are back!!
Enjoyed the review, helped me decide on a 16 ga nailer (early Christmas present to self!)
Great review. I hope you get well soon! I really enjoy your reviews as they are honest, informative, and to the point. I actually bought my Dewalt tools last year based primarily on your reviews.
Hope to see more videos soon and keep up the great work.
Tariq Almandhari thanks Tariq, glad my reviews make a difference

+partick49 you're welcome
Excellent review! I have the Ridgid 16 ga. I love it.
+Anthony D. thanks Anthony
Great, high quality review, dude. You're the man.
Thanks bro!
Very bad ass J-Dog. I'll check these out next time at the Depot. Stay well my friend.
Brien thanks Brien
great review Javier, I own the Ryobi 18g nailer and I love it, I love the look of these new Ridgid's the magnesium housing and brushless motors take it to the next level, I was thinking of getting the Ryobi 16g but I might just upgrade to these bad boys! Haven't see you much lately, hope everything's ok bro!
TheBearuk1 thanks bro. These are a step up if you need serious runtime. I liked most about them was the reduced recoil, not that it was bad on the ryobi but a nice refinement.
Sorry I haven't been regular with vids lately man. My health has been bad
Love my new 18ga brushless (video)
I bought the 16 gauge nailer version to reattach my baseboards after installing hardwood flooring. It is a bit on the heavy side but as far as performance, it has not let me down. I have read other reviews about having issues with nails not countersinking deep enough. Well the power is controlled by this pendulum switch on the back along with your typical depth switch in the front. Didn’t really have any issue with that other than a couple times the nails actually went in too far when I just started using it. So I had to adjust the hyperdrive switch on the back. You do pay more money for a battery version versus a pneumatic version but for the convenience of not having to lug around a compressor with the hose. I do have a pneumatic flooring nailer and palm nailer too. And pneumatic nailers work pretty consistently too. It’s just nice not having to constantly unplug air hoses when switching between what you are doing.
great review thanks!
ridgid finally going brushless!
Great video!!! Gracias me sirvió mucho!
Helpful, thanks 👍
the ridgid cordless nailer uses a pair of piston that draw a vacuum and release the energy to shoot and drive nails
Big fan of AEG tools (Rigid in the US) and have quite a few tools and loads of batteries, so as I needed a nailer for work, I bought the 15g DA angled nailer. Nails never sat flush when having to use it on a 10 degree angle fitting wardrobe internal top shelves, so I swapped it for another one incase it was faulty. Same thing happened, so I took it back to swap for a C bradder. Same thing happened! I now have the Dewalt 16g C bradder, and its better than anything on the market in my opinion. Light, fast and very ergonomic. These Rigids would be fine for home use, or if you are vertical/horizontal, but they do have the tendency to leave the brads proud of the material youre nailing into
check out the Tool Craze website www.toolcraze.net I often bring news of new AEG and Ridgid tools
I just recently purchased my first nail gun, the
RIDGID 18V Brushless Cordless HYPERDRIVE 16-Gauge 2-1/2 in. Straight Finish Nailer(Tool Only), Belt Clip, Bag, Sample Nails
and really appreciated your informative video. My question is will any type of nails work up to 2 1/2 in. ?
Can I use the rigid 2 and half inch nailer to secure loose wood siding? Not looking to hang it just looking to secure
Got one the other day. Had my doubts because out of the 2 7 piece Ridgid sets I've bought for my crew both had defective piece or two within a month. Well, what do you know. Day one with the 18GA I shoot about 10 2" nails all good. Next day it won't work. Hour on tech support and wind up bringing it back right in the middle of a job. So far so good with the replacement but so help me ...
What brand of nails do they recommend for use, and what about maintenance and cleaning of the nailer, what is recommended?
Great video buddy! Thank you
thanks Wilson!
Nice
Ryobi is basically designed for the Home Owner that does not require the RIGID and RUGGED demands of Contractors that RIDGID provides. Cordless Nailers have come a long way in recent years and that is good to see because my air compressor is getting too heavy to carry around any longer. Don't get me wrong, you won't go wrong with either brand, Ryobi or Ridgid....
Very good review! ty
thanks
great video thanks please do more videos
thanks bro and I do, I got lots more posted after this one and still making fresh content
Great video! They're a lot more expensive vs a pneumatic gun because of the battery and motor. How much was the ryobi? Pretty sweet nailers!
+Love2boat92 thanks bro, I think the ryobi nailers last time I checked were $129 - $199 respectively - they might have dropped in price since then
Tool Craze Oh wow. Not bad.
You always have great videos. Whats your opinion on the Dewalt brushless nailer vs the Rigid?
+Mike Eccle thanks Mike! If you're talking about dewalts newest 16 ga nailer, it's hard to make a comparison with the ridgid without having tried it out in person. The dewalt model isn't out yet, they only have the brushless 20v framing nailer at the moment and that's a totally different beast than the current ridgid models.
is the Dewalt dc608K brad nailer as good as the new rigid brushless brad nailer?
+Mike Eccle good question. I used to own that dewalt model before. From what I remember it had great performance. It never let me down except that it only came with one battery and when the battery ran out I was down for an hour before it charged up. It's hard to compare them directly without having them side by side. I remember the dewalt was big and heavy but so is this ridgid. When I say heavy,I mean in comparison to pneumatic nailers of similar capacity. I believe you should get well over twice the runtime with the ridgid nailer because it's brushless. Another thing to consider is that I wouldn't recommend going into the dewalt 18v line simply because it's an aging line and all the innovation is going into the newer dewalt 20v line. If you're interested in a dewalt nailer, I would highly suggest you wait for them to come out with brad, finish, and staple nailers on their 20v platform.
+Tool Craze Thanks for the info, I didn't know they were phasing out the 18v but that's good to know. Hopefully they release the new ones before Christmas.
+Mike Eccle you're welcome, technically their not phasing out the 18v dewalt line. dewalt promised they would still support it. it's just that all their focus is on the newer 20v line.
please do one on brushless and corded ,, compare them and their differences and power
Thanks for the suggestion, but theres no need to as these cordless models are on par with pneumatic nailers with driving power, the only difference is that cordless battery powered nailers have a delay before they fire and are larger and heavier than pneumatic models. Although the new Milwaukee 18V nailers don't have a delay like other battery powered nailers. I also did a review on those if you want to check it out.
what about the makita cordless nailer? good review
+Mario Duckett thanks Mario
Javier please tell me Ridgid will reach out to you, and hook you up with some new Ridgid brushless drill/impact driver for you to review!
+Bigchuck678 it's possible
I'm hanging sheathing and am wondering if these fire 6d round head nails. If not, are there any cordless ones that do?
Simple answer is no. You'll need a framing nailer for that. DeWalt has a cordless one here amzn.to/2ydl13X
I also enjoy your reviews bud - less bullshit and more facts than the UA-cam Comedians
The Ryobi will get 1000 rounds per battery.
What is the cost of the 16g nailer
You can check HD for current pricing
in Europe this ridgid is called AEG
yes it is
If you buy one of these you better buy a nail set for all the nails that don’t counter sink. I have the 18 gauge nailer and I will never buy another one.
sounds like you either need to set for the correct depth on the depth adjustment dial and/or put more pressure on the workpiece or yours are busted
