Both have there pros and cons for instance.
Dance pro: You don’t need a item to fuse
Dance con: You need time to do the dance
Potara pro: Your stronger than you would be if you did the dance and it’s faster than the dance.
Potara con: You need the potara Earrings Which in a Practical Sense Would not be common For any person unless there a god to have.
another con of the dance is that it only lasts 30 mins and the potara lasts for an hour. Although the more Ki the fighter uses can shorten the time limit drastically. But you know dragon ball time is also pretty unreliable so it's hard to say.

So for ex. Gogeta can use energy as long as he wants (given that he has the energy to do so)
potara ex. Vegito has a limit to energy even though he has more energy

Fusion dance
Pros:
You can do the dance everywhere and you dont need a specific item to use it
You dont have a energy limit
Cons:
The dance takes a lot of time and you need to learn it
It only lasts 30 minutes
Potara earings
Pros:
You can fuse with anyone and you dont need to learn it as long as you have the potara earings. Its a faster fusion too
You have a 1 hour limit
Cons:
You need the potara earings which the comment said. Is not common and people who own it are probably gods
You have a energy limit
Also the gods (i forgot who said it) did say the potara was "better" than the dance but he probably meant that it was just faster. So i think they are equal in terms of power and speed
@@masteryo4982 I was talking about how in the Goku Black arc the potara only lasted 30 mins instead of the actual 1 hour. And the supreme kai of universe 10 explained that the reason that happened was because of vegito using ssjb which burned through a shit ton of energy to use. Which in turn shortened the time of the potara fusion. The potara fusion is not just "1 hour" it varies depending on energy output

I believe that while it's easier to use potara earrings. That can be taken away from you so the perfection of the fusion dance is a necessity for these guys. Potara fusion is badass but earrings are breakable. Having access to both like they do are why goku and vegeta are ultimate warriors as a team.
I agree, it's great that Goku and Vegeta have access to both forms of fusion and it definitely boils down to convenience for the Potara, or the perfection of the Dance.

Great video! Casting aside the debate itself, you kept it on equal ground by showing a lack of bias. At the end of the video, you explained how you prefer the Potara (I do too tbh), but instead of throwing out a bunch of talking points, you gave the Fusion Dance fair grounds so that we can decide what is truly more effective. Rather than controversial, this video appears to be far more educational, aside from when you admitted to being a fan of the Potara. Black Knight #1 Hero 101 yeah but when do you need it, we’ve seen goku and vegeta fuse 3 times and 2/3 times there full power wasn’t even needed. Vegito was toying with buu for an hour not even trying to kill him and gogeta going blue on broly was simply overkill. Zamasu was the only threat where the fusions full power was needed, and I’m pretty sure if we’re gonna see them fuse agin there opponent want be strong enough to fight them.
Ultra Space time J Vegito wasnt really toying with buu, he was weakining buu menatally and physically to the point where buu had to absorb vegito. Vegito wanted to be absorbed so that he could save his family and friends that were also absorbed by buu. Gogeta is more of the “get the job done” type of fighter. Gogeta doesnt need earings, just learn the dance from piccolo and your set. Gogeta can also go blue for the full duration of the fusion while Vegito just uses up all his time to stay in blue. However Vegito is stronger and can be done with anyone, doesnt need any dancing. Basically, as the video says, its really up to the fighting situation.

1. Requires Earings to Fuse
2. perfectly Fuses two beings regardless of power level between them
3. Permanent for Gods, not Permanent for Mortal
Fusion Dance:
1. needs to do the Fusion Dance
2. Requires Equal Power Level

I love both fusions I prefer gogeta a little more but I think each are useful gogeta is good for getting shit done in a flash (as long as it's not ssj4 gogeta) and vegito is better for longer fights the only thing I dont like about each fusion is for the fusion dance it's a pain in the ass to pull off correctly and for the potara earrings if you go to super saiyan blue then your time limit is shorter

Lolomus I doubt the result would be the same as vegito considering gogeta has soul punisher which I’m prettty sure you know how it works. Gogeta was able to throw so many attacks while vegito defused from doing a single final kamehameha. Hell this even happen in the manga. Even after gogeta throw a full force kamehameha he was still standing and even had time to catch Frieza. I highly doubt he would end up the same as vegito.

Something I would have loved to have seen at this point is a fusion between two different species. Like for example, how about a Saiyan/namekian fusion? Think about it, the natural abilities of both races would be a part of the fusion. The Zen Kai ability combined with a namekian's regeneration for example. And all of the abilities will be amplified by Super Saiyan, including the namekian ones.
I agree, a fusion between two different species would be really cool. The closest we've gotten to it was Goku Black fusing with Zamasu since one was in a Saiyan body and the other was a Kaioshin.

You'd have to over the fusion to destroy the earnings since the earnings are linked to the power of the user so it's not really a disadvantage as long if your stronger the your enemy

Great stuff, bro! Though, I honestly disagree with the point of the Fusion Dance being able to exert more power than Potara. Do to Super Saiyan 3 being shown to greatly shorten the time limit to 5 minutes as opposed to the regular 30 of the Dance. And like you mentioned in GT with Super Saiyan 4 shortening Gogeta's time limit to 10 minutes. And honestly the appearance of the Fusion can last as long as the plot demands tbh, because time in Dragon Ball Fights varies.

I can agree with those points, thanks for pointing them out! I think the time limit really just depends on how long the fusion needs to stay in the plot but to be fair, anything else could just boil down to what the writing calls for as well.
SSJ3 never shortened the time. Trunks in the manga when he was in the HBTC said SSJ3 only last 5 mins. There was no evidence that said or showed SSJ3 shortening the time. Read the manga and Trunks says that they can only hold SSJ3 for 5 mins not the fusion time

If there is a potara earing, just use it, its fast easy to use, and it has a really long time limit, if there isnt a potara earing than use the fusion dance, as long as you do it perfectly you will be fine, though it will be hard if it is your first time doing the technique.

From what I've observed, Potara is undoubtedly stronger but comes with a very notable weakness; The earrings when destroyed force the Fused Fighter to defuse as shown with Kefla during the Tournament of Power. And since the Dragon Ball Super Broly Movie has seemingly retconned the time limit before you are able to refuse, it overall makes the Fusion Dance a better option to use. Not because it is stronger, but it's easier to maintain. Some may say that the Fusion Dance also has better ki management then the Potara Fusion but I refute this as just lazy writing.
It's definitely up to whoever prefers which method. Both fusions have undergone many different changes over the years, so it's getting more inconsistent to balance the two and define which is accurately better

This^ the higher the power level, the less time the fusion lasts for. We just don't how long Gogeta lasted for against Broly and the same for Vegito against Zamasu
@@HareemByron it’s not about the raw power level. Rather, it’s due to the fusions using transformations that burn through their energy. Transformations just expend energy faster until mastered (this what explained in the cell saga)
So vegito in mastered ssj1 doesnt defuse early. Gotenks using ssj3 does because ssj3 eats through energy. SsjB is said to be pretty exhausting to use as well, hence why vegito defuses after going straight into ssjb. Gogeta fought mostly in base and ssj1, only going blue at the end.

When kefla was born she was on the same or similar level to ssj blue goku,
In the broly movie, goku blue and vegeta blue and broly were pretty equal, but broly still had an advantage because he was facing split powers,when gogeta was born it seemed like the strength of ssj b vegeta +ssjb goku.
He had the combined strength but did better because it was actually added.

Well since when you use the metamoran fusion method you can exert more power and use higher powered transformations even tho you have to get the pose right and you have to be at the same power but what comes out is better than potara tbh because with potara true you have more time but if you try to use a form like ssj or ssb you’re time decreases to me that’s to big of a flaw so for sure I would go with metamoran but ethier way both fusion methods are equally powerful and badass so I ain’t complaining

Potaro is stronger, but is at a disadvantage. Having to put an earing on in the middle of combat is risky, then the fusees have to move to each other, which can be interrupted.
And any large overuse of Ki can instantly disrupt the fusion. Not to mention that even though more power can shorten the Fusion Dance, they can instantly do it again.
Of course, it isn't as bad as I put it out to be, but the points do stand.

The thing about the article that says they are equal in power is quite dodgy because in the Dragon Ball Z Manga it is stated that Potara fusion is much stronger by the elder Kai. Then again that was when we were under the impression that it was permanent. Now we know it has a time limit and they defuse when using too much power so I think it is easy to say that Gogeta would win in a 1 on 1 fight using the same power at Super Saipan Blue seeing as Vegito would defuse way sooner.

Which is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Pretty much renders Potara useless since on top of that, fusion dance is more convenient. It's not like they're always gonna have a pair of earrings sitting in their pockets.

Has anyone here played Budokai 3? Because I'm wondering which fusion method is better in budakai 3. Because potara is permanent why the fusion dance is only 30 seconds at maximum 15 at minimum. I actually feel like fusion dance is better if you are focused on winning because if you use super Saiyan gogeta for example you have 30 seconds to finish it and it makes me go all out and not waste any of of my very limited time

Thank you! Also not necessarily, the limitations and the rules behind the Fusion Dance were different back when GT came out (Super kinda messed around with those rules like they did with the Potara), so he defused early because of the sheer power behind the Super Saiyan 4 form.
Essentially, GT Gogeta defused for the same exact reason that Vegito Blue did, he was just too powerful. That’s just how it was back in the day because the rules of the fusion were different than what they are now.
A tien and krillin fusion would work better with the potara earings wouldn't?
I think a fusion between those two would be great either way, however the Potara Earrings give a "rivalry boost" so I think it would be more beneficial if Tien and Yamcha fused with the earrings. But Tien and Krillin would be powerful either way

Fusion Dance = 30min and Perfect Control of energy BUT take a lots of time for the dance / Potara = 60min, fastest and easiest way of merge. No difference in power (srry for broken english)

Most likely scenario is that they would fuse together just like any other person, it would be 4 people in 1 body.
If 2 dance fusions wore the potara, depending on how powerful the fusion would be, they'd probably defuse really quickly and then go back to being separate beings. UNLESS if one of the fusees is a Kaioshin, just like what we saw with Zamasu.
If 2 potara fusions did the dance, I think it would be the same. They'd be able to maintain the fusion but would defuse a bit quicker depending on how much power they use.
I feel like it depends on the situation. If you're certain you can defeat your opponent quickly even if using a transformation and don't have a compatible partner for the Fusion Dance or neither of you is well practiced with the dance, then the Potara are better, but if you don't think you can quickly win, don't have access to Potara, or you do have a suitable partner and you're both skilled with the Fusion Dance, that would make it more optimal. Also, well it is easier to disrupt than the Potara, the Fusion Dance takes all of about 5 seconds to perform, so I don't think performing the dance itself is as big a downside, although having to get it perfect for results is certainly a mark against it.

I loved this video but I believe they are nerfing Vegito by not giving him wins so Gogeta fans can only argue about that....but I love both fusions yet Vegito is more entertaining that's why his my preference
You say that Vegito is good for situations in which Goku and Vegeta want to stall for time and wear out their opponent so I ask you this: why would they ever want to do such a thing? Why not simply use the method that has a set in stone time limit and finish the battle as quickly as possible? Just stalling for time doesn't make any sense and doesn't sound like something Goku or Vegeta would do.
Just because they wouldn't choose to stall for time doesn't mean it isn't ever an option.

@@resistancefighter888 Sure, what if in a scenario when someone else gains a power stronger than Goku or Vegeta at the time (i.e Gohan or even Beerus) and all they can do is fend off a bad guy until said fighter can arrive on the battlefield? Putting an earring on is much easier and faster than performing a dance and it would determine life or death if this bad guy wasn't one to wait around, so in this scenario, Potara would make more sense.
This scenario most likely wouldn't ever happen with the direction the franchise is taking now, but it's the exact same thing as Super Saiyan transformations. Why use Super Saiyan 2 if you can just use Blue? It depends on character actions and plot significance

Why tf did you use GT as a source? Also, it has never been stated that Metamoran fusion lacks a power strain, that's complete head Canon. Gogeta still fought in his base form and worked his way up to blue to avoid exerting too much power *early on* (that's the condition btw, not just general power increase). It is neither confirmed nor denied but it is *implied* Metamoran fusion has the same sustainment problems as Potara. I know you're trying to give Gogeta a crutch because you know that Potara is better and you think you're being too harsh. Hear me out. Maybe the universal fusion method created by the gods *may* be better than a technique conjured up from a rinky dink planet in the middle of universe 7, just maybe.
I also considered that as a factor as to why Gogeta lasted longer than Vegito. I also considered that Gogeta's fight was just visually longer than Vegito's. Cause I mean what would be the point in using Potara if at full power, Gogeta would last longer than Vegito especially when the difference between their power is either very small or non-existent. Not to mention fusion dance is more convenient than Potara. It's not like they got the Kai on speed dial.

So from what I can understand by watching this is, that Gogeta can achieve Ultra Instinctual Ego by combining both forms but will be impossible for somebody like Vegito because he would defused before it ever comes to fruition due to Goku and Vegeta not knowing the other.
Like Whis stated Ultra Instinct doesnt suit his style so it be hopeless to learn it without abandoning his own Ultra Ego style and the same must apply to Goku vice-versa. But due to Metamora Fusion they become symmetrically one thereby combining their styles which would make it possible to combine their forms without defusing first.
I think that fusion ring method is more efficient as you don't need to have perfect angel or something

if you and your other fusee are both perfect at the dance and have the exact same power levels, dance is better. if not, potara is better

I personally disagree with you choosing potara even after seeing Vegito defuse after only using 5-8 Minutes in that ssb state, I agree with everything in terms of pros and cons except gogeta prep time, during the broly movie that was goku and vegeta first time actually using the fusion dance method ofc there going to take a while to master the dance but just like goten and trunks after mastering the fusion dance both of them came familiar with it and now can turn into gotenks anytime they want as you shown in your video. I personally chose Fusion dance because during the most part of the broly movie gogeta has transformed into super sayain and used many powerful attacks an then later transformed into super sayain blue and then later to go on using ki blast attacks, Soul Punisher and many more powerful attacks and to top that off he used a full power Kamehameha attack and didn't defused at all (vegito big bang Kamehameha drained vegito time exponentially) gogeta overall has more time then vegito has in his blue form with 0 limits so I dont understand why you choose a power draining fusion with not even 10 minutes to spare in his blue state (My Opinion ig)

@@perfectcell8379 I mean is when Goku and Vegeta fused with the earrings they weren't Super Saiyans because Old Kai said it might effect their energy but in Fusion Reborn when they fuse using the fusion dance in base form their so powerful that Gogeta becomes Super Saiyan within the fusion. Base form means the Saiyans normal form without becoming super saiyans.

Power levels just happen to be on par with one another but Potara just happens to be more convenient simply bc you can fuse on the spot.
Not only is it simpler potara was stated to be stronger. Theres no need to scale the potara vs Gogeta as potara is stronger

For whatever reason they just nerfed vegito specifically especially in the anime and they seemingly buffed gogeta in the movie. No way gogeta is able to last longer in blue with the amount of damage output he was dealing to Broly unless you're telling me the Final Kamehameha is THAT OP

If you watched all of Buu saga. You would have know that when Old Kai gives Goku the Potara earrings, he said the Potara fusion is significantly stronger than the fusion dance.
Of course I know that, strength doesn't mean it's the more effective method, even if I like it more

I don't think so since I believe they say it's only permanent with "Kaioshins" specifically, not with all of the gods. That's why it was permanent with Zamasu, because he was a Kaioshin

It was stated by the old Kai to be stronger than the dance, thus its natural power is greater. It’s power output may not be as good and the time limit may have gotten retconned, but the statement on natural power still has yet to be debunked.
The potara fusion is stated to be the perfect fusion. The fusion dance relies on power levels. Goku had to lower his power level to vegeta to do the fusion dance. Unequally matched characters can fused with the potara earrings and both characters are at full power with the potara earrings. Vegetio is stronger than gogeta

Fusion dance seems easier because you don’t gotta go find a Kai to get the earrings and the dance magnifies the power. PLUS the dance doesn’t have a power limit unlike the potaras you can’t use full power with potara

I prefer fusion dance because it's kinda like higher price higher reward it takes a while to get it down but when you do get it down you get a better result for most occasions in my opinion, you get more power but for less time which, again my opinion, is a better bargain than less power for a longer time. Although in GT the fusion was shortened due to SSJ4's immense power, GT isn't canon, and in the Broly movie, Gogeta used SSJB for the entire fight and didn't defuse because of his immense power, so I feel like the fusion gets shorter because of power aspect was either forgotten or removed for the canon fusion dance

A way to get vegito v gogeta in super: vegito is more vegeta and gogeta is more goku so if they have a discussion abt who is stronger, they used the multi form technique and then they fight.
I diagree actually.. vegito looks more like vegeta and gogeta looks more like goku however vegito personality is predominately goku and gogeta is predominately vegeta
potara all the way 1 they have fussed cloths not just the same old tacky cloths 2 can be used in battles on the spot instead of running away and 3 lets all not forget the fusion dance has to be perfect every time and if you screw up even by the angle then it will not work meaning it has to be done 100% so yes i would defo say potara as its more easy, looks more like a fusion and has its own power

I like the dance better, because you would need to have the same power level or trying to work together.
Both are = in effectivity but the only thing that faults one off the other is time.
Power over time staying fused longer does not mean better when fighting an over powered being. Besides out of the three times we see Gogeta he’s completed 2 fights as the victor and the two times we see vegito has not completed a full fight to date.
Those two times where Gogeta won a fight, were both in movies so there really wasn’t enough time to drag on a fight and have the two defuse for drama, like what we’ve seen with Vegito.
@@InnovativeJdawg this is true but you said the key word “drama” we see fights that take 20 episodes and most of it is a long pauses with dramatic music in the background, if we are to take the fight at face value with gogeta and vegito, vegito easily over powered his opponents but never finishing the fight. And yes being that gogeta has been in both movies not giving time for a drawn out fight but this is my point his character is straight too the point with little to no words to his opponent to finish it.
Well now ofcourse both fusions are equal in power because goku and vegeta are equal in power both fusions get the full power but i'd say vegito is slightly more powerful thanks to the rival boost they get but the dance holds longer even with blue

And then there are people who play dragon ball maps in warcraft frozen throne who do both fusions at the same time and get Gogeta with potara earrings and fusion dance items or Vegito with fusion dance and potara earrings items neither look bad.

I will forever will prefer Vegito over Gogeta, but as soon as i make a comment about Vegito being more powerful than Gogeta and me prefering Vegito, all the Gogeta fan boys think i hate the fusion dance and Gogeta, i really don't, Gogeta is freaking awesome but Vegito is my guy.
Also Gogeta has the coolest hair in Dragon Ball ever, the tall spikey hair with the one bang, so freakin' cool.
