      That makes two of us! It's hard to beat the thrilling sound of 40s screaming by in run 8.

    The old one is still good. Rather good to operate them in this foggy morning.

      Thanks for the comment! The EMD SD40-2 still earns its keep on the BNSF well into 2019.

      Thanks for the comment! Isn't it amazing that these units are still around in BN paint more then 20 years after merger?

    May have said this before, but, aside from the F units, the raked out SD40-2 is the most beautiful freight engine built. They were the industry standard in quality and reliability.
    Great to see the Burlington Northern locomotives still in the original BN paint, with the black extended over the cab and the cab trim a solid green, not white, as would come later.

      I fully agree with you, and that's why stuff like this never gets old for me. Thanks for the comment!

      @@SD457500 yes, and it's amazing how one bad locomotive produced right after GM scored big with the SD40-2 - the 3600-3800hp SD50 - almost ruined it for GM.

    What a great lash up! Apart from the Geep on the rear, I can make that consist on the layout:-). I was lucky to catch a few SD40-2's on my trip to the US in 2015...time I came back for some more I think??
    Nice shots and camera work too.
    Cheers Gregg.

      I appreciate the kind comments, and feedback on the video! While they might not rule the rails like they used to, seeing 40s out on the main is a welcomed sight.

    I wonder why the 40's are so much more common up north. Here in Oklahoma, I haven't seen one used for anything but local service in years.

      Thanks for the comment! It might have to do with Northtown Yard, and them servicing the EMD power in the area.

    If you don't feel a stirring in your gut when a lash up of these old guys go by at full throttle, then you ain't got blood in your veins.

    Great video. I always have enjoyed your content.
    If you don't mind me asking, how exactly do you know when the trains run? Is there a schedule for them that is public?

    • @SD457500
      @SD457500  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the kind comment, and I'm glad you enjoy my work! As far as the schedules, there is nothing that is public. Your best best is to be with a heads up group, of a FB page that lets other know about this sort of power running.
