I hate to ask about "original" works on something amazing like this, I understand "cover" but to translate something that was not originally performed or wrote with pure violin in mine and perform it so amazing that you feel all the pieces without words is almost original and unique in itself...then you have to wonder is it really a cover?

I went to Damien's show in NY on 2/9/16, and had the time of my life. Damien plays his violin as if he were talking directly to you. (smile). This is an artist that I adore and love whatever he plays. One of my favorite to add to my collection. God Bless You! young man.

Saw him perform in Raleigh ,NC. He opened up for Boney James and I really was blown away at with his performance. Smooth jazz has been overlooked and I pray its popularity returns. Almost every city in America that had a smooth jazz radio station either shut down or got replaced by other genres of music. I personally feel it was done on purpose because it was the one music we could listen to that was so classy and professional. Years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Marion Meadows and he said that he was concerned that these stations would disappear. Some say that internet radio is just as good or better but I respectively disagree. When an entire jazz community is listening to the same tracks at the same time on their way from work and an announcement of a show coming to your area people get excited. I miss that so much because it allowed me to be around positive people, allowed me network with others, and I felt the environment was super safe. No shooting and quite honestly no people that made me feel embarrassed because of their ratchet ways. Just venting and I would love someones feedback.
I'm with you 100% Michael. I was listening to the smooth jazz station in Pittsburgh the day it went off the air. I had to pick myself up off the floor. I don't know but I think part of the demise of the stations is that they were too restricted on what they played. You would think that George Benson only made Broadway or Breezin', and that Pat Metheny had yet to create anything. Still miss it though.
