@@samterkaterk I did hear that, I just think how they delivered it was poor and could have been done better as an update to the original SSL stuff, using the new Data from CLA's desk and their original modeling data to update the sound and functions of their SSL plug in (like adding mic and line gain to it). This new UI is redundant if you have a newer DAW and hogs your screen and CPU needlessly. I am all for new harmonic modeling and creating better sounding plug ins but overall, this is just useless and gimmicky
I perfectly agree with you. If you are looking for a "better" ssl plugin I would suggest the Bx Console. The dry wet mix knob for compression, small differences between channels with TMT and controllable saturation is a good one. Also the metering is a bit strange at the beginning but once used to it I like it. Also forgot but there is a secondary release time and HPF for compression (which are both useful). For what you are saying, they could just add a dry wet button to the Waves SSL plugins. It would improve them without to much work.
I was under the impression Pro Tools had faders and compression and visible gain reduction facilities. Chris is a great mixer, but I don't see what problem this solves.
this lets you mix all your channel strips from one place. yes, PT shows gain reduction - but to adjust any EQ or compression you need to open a bunch of plugins -- while this puts all the controls side by side like on an analogue desk. you can EQ tracks right next to each other. it's way more real-estate and workflow friendly than opening a ton of plugins at once and scrolling through your session. plus, the new model sounds great! 🙂
In the video, he has all of the buckets displayed at the same time - in Studio One, I'm only able to display one bucket at a time. Mine seem to be locked into the monitor that Studio one is on and detaching the mixer in Studio One so that you can display it on another monitor doesn't help with this situation. Thanks.
1:00 thats the rationale behind Harrison Mixbus. It's not just a DAW it's a physically modeled console emulator. This is great though - use it on any DAW. Very nice implementation.
Adding channels to a bus allows you to tweak that sub mix only, that's a bus. This allows you to mix 8 individual channels from one view. Probably be handy for an orchestral arrangement, when i want to mix 8 violins, then 6 cello, then 8 brass. But it's not for me personally. Most rock/pop songs can be mixed fine in the normal DAW mixer view
@@vaiman7777 You mean like opening the mixer on Logic and seeing all the sub mix buses next to each other? Typically i bus guitars, bass, drums, keys, main vox, BVs, pads and I can see them all together in the mixer view in Logic. I don't see what this plug in does different? If you have a SSL emulation on your bus channels then are you not effectively doing the same thing as this plug in?
@@gezma12 Using Logic (like me) you probably won't get anything new from this. Being able to tweak multiple compressors/EQ's from one view is handy though. You'd have to open each plugin instance separately otherwise. Probably worth a demo at $69.... but unless you manage large mixing sessions i don't think you'd get anything 'new' out of it.
Read some of the comments, I have to say this is somewhat genius and wish more plugin developers were thinking along these lines. I wish this was out before I bought my current plugin library. Def would have rethink my workflow with something like this. If this was with a control surface like console 1, mind would be blown. Don't know why always so many haters with things like this. Maybe if they were throwing a $300 price tag like some other developers
Hi Alexandre, thanks for reaching out. Please feel free to reach out for our tech support team who will be happy to assist with any questions you might have - waves.com/contact-us
Hi, little late to the party, but hoping to ask a question re input stage vs Waves NLS. Does NLS become redundant using CLA mix hub? I’m thinking why use a console emulation / mix bus with this? I don’t see how it would fit together. Many thanks!
It lets you add a plugin on each channel in your DAW, such as grouped tracks for Drums, Guitar, Bass etc. and then via one plugin control all those instances in one screen. I'm presuming there will be some kind of crosstalk/analog emu across those channels too, similar to how old analog desks would glue together - if so, this thing will rock for vintage/warm mixes.
@@TwstedTV Yes of course, you mis-read what i said. After you have those VCA's/Busses setup you can place this on those grouped channels and then control those VCAs side by side as per SSL desk... It's an extension to the DAW. And would be how i would use it. Or, you can insert the sender plugin to the individual tracks and use this to group via the buckets, which is what he's doing on the video. What's special about it is that you get a console-like view of multiple tracks spread across the one window, and in any configuration you chose. You cannot do that in the majority of DAWs.
@@Greenmantislives Yeah just like Mixbus, although Mixbus is is a DAW in it's own right of course, but i know many studio owners who used to route Logic (9) through to mixbus. Not sure on how the overheads/latency compare to this and Mixbus, but the track naming is obviously a bonus with Waves, as it's explicity being sent from a track with an ID, rather than Output 1+2 -> Input 1+2 on Mixbus, for example. Makes routing much easier. But that said, most people who run mixbus with another DAW have all that stored in a project template anyway, so the routing is usually taken care off up front.
Still can only do one thing at a time w/ mouse - and how does this all this scrolling around work like in the demo - eye tracking?? I own a SSL 9000J. And a Reason SSL.
@@vaiman7777 That's true, having all the ssl eqs and comps in one window might be handy.
Harrison Consoles MixBus is already like this. It's a fantastic way to mix. Great way to mix.
How's the cpu usage? This beast is a cpu hog. And I thought Abbey Roads Chambers was a cpu muncher.
Just add one more bucket, bucket full of beer 😎
Best plug-in.
If i put this plugin inside Ableton it recognize all my tracks automatically and works as a mixer inside a mixer, is it what it does? Thanks!
Am I the only one that is confused about this plugin??
It lets you add a plugin on each channel in your DAW, such as grouped tracks for Drums, Guitar, Bass etc. and then via one plugin control all those instances in one screen. I'm presuming there will be some kind of crosstalk/analog emu across those channels too, similar to how old analog desks would glue together - if so, this thing will rock for vintage/warm mixes.
@@Skijumptoes you can do the same thing with VCAs and Buss channels to control grouped channels and its already build in your DAW.
Skijumptoes so like a Harrison mixbus situtuation?
Any idea what dock he's using for his MacBook Pro?
Can anybody give me the link to the song of this track? Not the original one by the bad flower.
This looks great.
Make a Wave DAW at this point.
What's the filters slope?
Are the channels individually model
treztracks They modelled the best sounding channel.
Still can only do one thing at a time w/ mouse - and how does this all this scrolling around work like in the demo - eye tracking?? I own a SSL 9000J. And a Reason SSL. And was going to look at the BX Console, totally detailed modeling as well... When does it end? But, Waves got (is getting?) this to market before Acustica's Modula which is going to be probably a real game changer (too!)
What if you want to solo or mute a channel you are working on? have to move the plugin out of the way to get to the DAW?
this song its very perfect for this tuto
I think Waves Audio plugins are limited to 8 channels... Notice.. CR8 Sampler and CLA Mix Hub...etc
I bought Cla mix hub but I can not use. I do not know how to start, I create the clues but "Cla mix hub" does not appear. In the plugins it appears but at the time of edit no. I have Cubase AI, Cakewalk and Protools but I use more Cubase AI. Thank You!
Would love to have a go with this plugin but I think my Mac would implode trying to process all that data
Wait what version is this with such a large GUI?
curious to know how taxing this is on a CPU when you run it with other plugins.... looks like it may be a resource hog.
Anyone know how long the sale price will be for?
thanks for this persfect plugin
we need more preset for mastering of all track of our project
for example short action movie I can't find something like this in preset
thank you .....
Man I listened to the original song and it does not sound nothing like this, this man is a genius mixing.
Great plug in. Correct me if I'm wrong you can get this with Reason DAW ? I'm I missing something ?
CLA Mixhub, CLA all instruments with CLA 10s and CLA-3A makes me CLA? Because I'm getting the black and grey console, the white speaker in the black box, and the black face compressor! THE SOUND OF *HITS*
