In this tutorial I show you how to get started with Revit by modeling a simple floor plan.

Can't understand How do you got component library and Customised Door Windows.. Move walls and Dimensions.
I just installed the Revit trial and this is my first tutorial. The pace of this is nuts. I have to keep pausing every 4 or 5 seconds to go back to Revit and figure out what you've done. Thank you for making this, it is loaded with information for a newbie like me.

Think of it like drawing. And just use tools to do what you want. The important paarts are door sizes, measurements, rendering scaling etc.
As a total beginner, I had a lot of difficulties in doing your shortcuts without clear explanations on how to do them. I took a lot of time though I finally managed. Thank you so much will be watching your part two.
I can't say I'm perfect yet but the best way is to be patient and skip, stop, rewind and follow you whilst also designing on my computer. I grew frustrated at first until I decided to do exactly what you're doing. Big ups, you're the best facilitator on YT. Bravo
This tutorial can also be presented as a Revit Refresher Course for those already using Revit but want to perfect their skills. Excellent tutorial, keep it up.
As a AutoCad user for 5 years I feel like so much weight just dropped of my shoulders with Revit...thanks, learned super fast time to get to work!
Loved it, I was getting training for the HVAC certification and only software that made me discouraged was Revit and now I have got some hope to do something.

Same for me, it was just the right speed. (To be fair I've been using various 2D and 3D CAD software for years, just not Revit.)

Beginner tutorial, the first thing out your mouth was "I'm just going to change the units to mtrs" but then you appeared to hotkey open a dialogue box, you need to explain to beginners how you open up the menu to change units.

it is a beginner tutorial not a kids Sunday art project amigo. How hard is it to google “revit change unit hotkey”? And lo and behold, the first result you get is the official pdf for all the hot keys…
I havnt use revit, but this tutorial too fast but i feel like im loving revit, autocad user here. Cant wait to use evit soonest.

Druže, ovo ti je sjajna ideja. Ne znam šta si planirao dalje, ali trebalo bi da napraviš seriju ovih videa, sa spratom, presecima, parternim rešenjem... ubaciš mu i malo tehničkog dela- zidovi sa slojevima, izolacija, armatura u skeletu. Posle izvučeš detalje. Kompletan projekat. To je nešto što bi najviše valjalo i najpotrebnije bilo svakom studentu, pogotovo ako počinje tek.
Hvala na svim video materijalima, mislim da sam pogledala većinu. Sad potražih ovaj, jer imam jednog početnika koji me je pitao za pomoć, pa rekoh da mu preporučim. Ali, mislim da je ovo većini, ako ne i svim početnicima zaista prebrzo.

Saw the other comments, just wanted to say that I've actually been using AutoCAD for the last couple of years to do architecture stuff(for curiosity, not professionally) and this tutorial was really cool, very short for so much you taught in a few minutes. Nice tutorial Balkan... but there is an important part.... you didn't discuss.... which will be good for those just learning to use revit..... that is temporary dimensions..... most times revit takes dimension reference from center to center.... which will be a problem for most users when drawing... so they have to change the temporary dimension properties to faces for walls..... and openings for doors and windows...... 🙏

it's too fast. and there are some shortcuts/process you did not fully explain, like what did you do to make a floor with the shape of the entire floorplan, and what did you do to subtract areas of the bath and kitchen.

I would suggest you adjust the speed to 0.75 or 0.5 to be able to follow, it was super fast.

That video was very very useful, I had to adjust the speed to .75x and 0.5X to be able to follow, as you were very fast.

thanks. I usually did plan on sketching up but when I go into Revit, I thought I have to do all those "rectangles" on the plan inside the component tab and it was a nightmare, it was good to know I can use annotation to draw these lines lol save me a lot of time....

ME TOO!!! I really need more explanations about the comans, how do u turn the bed while you are choosing the position? what's the difference between line and detail line? can I change the dimension of a door/window after I put in and without creating a new type? how tall are the walls?
First time to see how you draw in revit. And making floor plan in revit is 1000x easier than making it in autocad or sketchup. Because of this, il be converting into revit. Thanks. 🙂

This is beneficial if you used to use Revit and need a refresher, but it is WAY too fast! There is no time to view the video and look at your own Revit program to get everything accomplished. I had to rewind over a hundred times
So rapid work, the floor plan is out like magic, but....., Using detail lines to draw model elements is very bad practice because they will not appear in sections or other copies of the same floor plan and also in schedules, you can load wardrobe and shelves and kitchen counter and cooker from the library, so everything will be accurate. My congratulations for the good tutorial.
Because, It is only for Floor plan, That's why he draws detailed lines instead of loading Components.

I would recommend to keep the units in milimeter. Your walls are called "Generic 300mm", so it could be very confusing when the dimensions are in centimeter.

this is good to see the speed you work at. but I feel like you glaze past some of the short cuts you use. eg flipping the door before placing. or maybe how you reworked the walls after you split them.
