In this lesson you’ll learn about triad inversions on the guitar. I’m going to show you how to find and play the inversions for close position major, minor, and diminished triads. We won’t be covering augmented triads in this lesson because augmented triads have something unique about them which I’ll show you in the next lesson.
*This lesson is from our course “Music Theory Level 3”*
Music Theory Level 3 is the next course in our Music Theory series
This course is all about chords, chord progressions, and how to apply them to writing and analyzing songs on the guitar. We’ll start with the most basic type of chord which is called a triad, and work our way through 7th chords. After you’ve learned about triads and 7th chords, you’ll learn how to turn them into chord progressions. Chord progressions are one of the most important elements to songwriting and most popular songs can be broken down to the chord progression and the melody. Everything will be taught on and applied to the guitar.
Here are some of the things you’ll learn in this course:
    * How to build triads and 7th chords and how to play them on the guitar
How triads and 7th chords relate to the Major Scale
How to harmonize the Major Scale with triads and 7th chords
What chord progressions are and how they relate to writing songs
How to analyze chord progressions in popular music
How to create your own chord progressions
    Much more!
    *Who This Course Is For*
This course is for any guitarist who wants to gain a deeper understanding of music theory and how it applies to the guitar. It's for those who want to understand how chords and chord progressions work and how to write their own songs or analyze popular songs. If you're not satisfied with just playing songs on the guitar without understanding what you're doing, then this course is for you.
*An Easy To Follow Step-By-Step Approach To Learning Music Theory*
Our music theory courses provide a clear step-by-step path for learning how music works and how it applies to the guitar. Everything is broken down into logical, easy to follow lessons and is taught on the instrument you play. Don't worry if you've ever felt frustrated trying to learn music theory in the past, our system is different.
*Finally! A Music Theory Course You Can Easily Understand*
The best way to learn music theory is to learn it on your instrument. That’s why our music theory courses are taught on the guitar. All of the examples and explanations are given using the guitar fretboard and with the guitarist in mind. This will allow you to learn more quickly than through traditional methods, because you’ll be able to easily visualize everything based on your instrument. It will also allow you to use the information you learn in practical musical situations instead of being left with unusable theory. So not only will you learn the theory, but you’ll be shown musical examples for everything on the guitar, and be given practical ways to use the information in real world situations.
*Take Your Playing To The Next Level*
Don't settle for just playing shapes, truly understand how music works and how it applies to the guitar!
