This is soo cool Dave! Congrats on the 5 years anniversary. That's really a huge effort, but your articles definitely do make difference! Thanks for that!
Hey Dave, enjoyed seeing you on the Advent of Code stream for yesterday and discovering your typealias website. Those illustrations are so great. Congrats on 5 years!
Thanks so much! I hadn't considered that yet... I would definitely need to fill out the character set further, since it only has the basic characters... but maybe I could do that sometime! 🙂
Amazing experience with your website sir , you are totally awesome guy who write about Kotlin onces again thank you sir for making awesome content, i don't know how you earn money from this website without ads, if you need money for your expenses please let me know, i will support you with money, in a return i don't want anything.
Thank you, Raju, I'm honored! You're very generous! 🙂 Yes, I want website visitors to be able to focus on learning while they are there, and ads would just be distracting, so I don't intend to include ads. Thankfully, website expenses are pretty low, so for now I'm just happy to serve the Kotlin community!
Unique and great tutorial! Those illustrations and stories in each chapter are beautiful and really helpful! The way you explain these complex things is unbelievable. I am reading and learning on your website, I still haven't read all the chapters... Currently I need some time to get used to that lambda syntax and rules haha.. Anyway, I would like to mention two things: First, you have a typo (Chapter 7 - Lambda and Function References). Above Listing 7.11, in your paragraph - the function returns a String, not a Double (I mean, it's obvious to the readers.. just pointing it out as proof that I'm actually reading the lessons carefully hh :D ..) Second, you might want to change the paragraph width on your website - the line length. It is recommended that you have about 80 characters per line. Otherwise it's a bit hard to read. Here's an example (website) of what I'm talking about: www.internetingishard.com/html-and-css/web-typography/#line-length However, your website is 10/10 a pure gem! Appreciate your work and hope you finish your online book soon! Happy New Year :) edit: correct link
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words! I'm so glad to hear that the chapters have been helpful for you. I do put a lot of intentional effort into making those explanations easy to understand, so I appreciate hearing when that effort has been worthwhile! :) Thanks for pointing out the typo! Got that fixed up. For the paragraph width, I'll poke around with things a bit... I'll try narrowing it down and see what feels comfortable. (And in the meantime, of course, as a temporary workaround, you can shrink the width of your browser window to get a paragraph width that's a little easier on the eyes). Thanks again for reaching out! Happy new year to you, too! :)
@@typealias Yeah, that's exactly what I did - shrinked browsers window because I need one more window on the screen for IDE to type code while reading. Also, there are extensions like "stylish" that can change the width..so it's not a big deal at all. Please don't stop writing and drawing, you really have a gift for it. Thanks again :)
Your articles are amazing ❤. I am eagerly waiting for next chapters.
Thanks so much, Aaquib! I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed them! 🙂
