Duke Surgeons perform the world’s first successful partial heart transplant in an infant. The surgery was performed on 5-pound newborn, Owen Monroe. His family is from Leland, N.C. The Duke Health team was led by Dr. Joseph Turek. See link in bio for more about the procedure.
