HOLY SMOKES - well done!!! I hope the rest of FishTube finds you! I laughed so hard at the secret triangle...that was too good, but so true and important :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Looks like it was worth putting in more effort in editing. I haven't "advertised" myself at all and just the UA-cam algorithm do the trick. I guess, it hasn't reached them yet. But, I believe it will in due time! I've been steadily getting more subs and viewers now 😊
100% agree with Light being at the top of this list! Getting that intensity is absolutely key! I was having problems with hair aglae at one stage and simply placed a plastic lid over my tank. The light intensity was cut just enough and the tank hasn't had any algae since! It's worked on 3 other tanks I've tried it with. All of which use the same light so consistency is key!
But when the light is the problem, means that you are injecting too low co2 for that amount of light intensity or you are lacking one nutrient. It's a balance, the easiest way to achieve it is dimming the light, but that doesn't mean that you can't obtain the same effects increasing CO2 AND nutrients without touching the light. Exception is, if you are blasting your tank with some insane light
I'm also going to agree, claiming CO2 being the issue. Usually, any filamentous algae is caused by low CO2 or an imbalance of CO2, which is the reason why I increased my CO2 when I first noticed the Cladophora. I thought it was regular string algae and not a monster algae species. Probably, should have specified that...
I loved all the video game references, but for a second there I was afraid that hidden middle triangle was going to be the super creepy moon from majora's mask 😂. Patience is really the key to see changes, something I'm not very good at sometimes. Are there any fast growing stems you know of that would do well in black water? Great video, Justin, hope you have a nice weekend! 🙂👍
You're making me regret not making it the moon or the Elegy of Emptiness, but that would be too spooky 😂 Hmm... Black water can be quite acidic, which is a good thing for plants. The only issue is the "low-light". Any red plants are probably out of the question, considering that they'll probably blend too much in the water depending on how dark you have it. Low-tech stem plants are something to aim for. If you can legally get your hands on Limnophila Sessiliflora and Hygrophila Polysperma (both species are on the US Noxious Weed List), that might work. Lysimachia Nummularia might also work, but I can't give any experience as I've never run a black water aquarium before. Water Wisteria as well, but it could get leggy. Bacopa species and Hydrocotyle Tripartita I think would work!
@@TropiscapeAquatics same! I feel the latest games lost the magic that I love from previous eras. Too many dynamic game mechanics now and I'm not a fan of such massive open world for a single player...I like my dedicated zones on a map that intuitively guides me where I need to go. If it feels too endless I tap out
@@AquaJoyClub I hear ya on that. While I do live open-world games like Elden Ring and such, there's just something about BOTW gameplay that I just don't like. It's a reason why I dropped Genshin the moment I played it, despite being accepted into the beta play test a long time ago. My wallet is also glad I dropped it. I just want another Majora's Mask. I loved the dark theme that spans the entire game.
I've got a 20g tank right next to a west-facing window that gets lots of light but until recently, no algae. Then I discovered the hole the cories dug into the soil layer...😑 I filled that back in & the problem's going away. I just need to be vigilant about the space behind the rocks that they love to hide in. =p

Great video... Excellent graphics... You put so much work into your vids and they are amazing with exceptional information
Thank you so much! This one took a while as I pushed the graphics a little more than usual, but I think it was worth it!

This is a very good video in both content and production value.
Glad you enjoyed it!
One of the best videos if seen discussing this topic. The information, the clips, the editing... Take a bow man, this is good.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Great video, love the animations!

Nice thanks for sharing, and yes whatever you do, you need to be patient, some changes might up to a couple of months to be really notorious. 😁
I've had that experience before! The process does indeed pay off in the end
Had me laughing with the triforce man. 😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Saw the thumbnail - clicked so fast hahaha
Ah, I See You're a Man of Culture As Well.
Don't hate me, but I couldn't get into BOTW for some reason...

I wrote my comment without seeing the Zelda sword lmao I knew I seen that font breath of the wild
😉
Is that Zelda font
Test everything 😂😂😂 damn this hobby is pure suffering pain hard
But it's so much fun!
To be honest, I rarely perform any water tests other than during the initial stages and if something looks off.
