I have the same style .awesome fast perkins . a couple of tissue issues but still running good .....FOR SALE looking to upgrade to a shinier /weaker machine lol
Hello. I have a new to me L781. Having troubles with my drive system. The right side is strong in forward and reverse. Left side is weak. Neutralizer has been replaced on left side. Also very loose from neutralizer to servo attachment. If I tightened everything down it has a shimmy or jerking back and forth and wants to creep. I'm not sure if it's a neutralize problem or a servo problem. Oil is clean. Big screen filter is clean.
Make sure servo actuator link on left pump travel is equal to right side pump distance rotated should be equal That lever on pump moves swash plate in pump for forward reverse flow to drive motors . The small pump on end is charge pump should send 400 psi +- to both drive pumps . It also supplies 3000psi to bucket boom aux hydraulic s. How many hours on machine? I have 6000 on mine still perfect. I run 10w30 motor oil in hydraulic fluid as factory specifies. My machine creeps on right side Actuators bushings loose . Use park brake always or it will take off . Put machine up on blocks tires off then set both actuators and pump levers to match each side. Skid steer forum site has excellent info. I am on there as Jim A. Good luck

Check final drive gear bearing s behind side covers. Mine blew ruined large gear. Bearing cost $10 a Ford mustang wheel bearing. Clean out sumps on both sides use 10w30 motor oil in hyd system.
I just saw this video and have a question. I know you said you cleaned the suction screen prior to the charge pump. My question is which way is installed correctly. Mine has a large rubber gasket on one end, does that go down or up when installed. I think it is called a gasket in the diagram 096, part number 9 on the messicks site.
just bought a L785 changed a hose and now bucket and boom wount move fast and the pump makes grinding sound need help were is the fill for hydo and how do you bleed any help pls.
Mike Wray Under seat on left is a cap with a filter screen on it. They always clogged All HYD oil has to be pulled through screen. Filler on front panel next to your right knee when in machine has dip stick. Use 10w30oil. I point to cap on video
In bottom of chain cases lowest part in four places below wheel axel are four drain plugs. You can also loosen side plates which cover drive chains between tires square plates . Best to clean out entire sumps and check chains gears and bearings . Water came in my machine from top plates on drive chain cases on both sides. Seal up with permetex silicone when done. Enjoy the mess...lol 🤣
There are drain plugs in very bottom of chain cases behind wheels underneath all four lower corners. Or you can remove small panels between wheels and clean out entire sump on both sides is best. Check bearings on end of big gear that's what went bad on mine.
Just bought a L455 .. Had leaky cylinder resealed both sides for 30 bucks.. got to replace drive chain on right side.. I''ll have less than 4 grand in it.. Just Sayin..
Quick question. I have the same L785. Changed all hoses, repaired the left drive gears and bearings. Everything is running beautifully. Drives great forward and reverse except the right drives slightly faster than the left. However when I try to turn in either direction, the pump makes a loud crying noise and it feels like the drives are fighting each other. Very hard to turn. Also I noticed when turning the right drive moves but the left is static no matter how far I pull/push the left drive lever. Any idea or suggestions on how to correct would be greatly appreciated.
check drive pump stroke lever adjustment off drive handles and suction screen before charge pump is clean. Pumps are loud especially on hard dry pavement at low rpm.
There is very little info on the L785 online. Anyone know when the computer is throwing a solenoid code which one it is? We can't get our skid to turn over and this is the code. TIA
There is no computer on mine it's a 1994. Check all safety interlock switches then jump solenoid on starter direct. Caution machine does not move and hurt mechanic .
@@Nudnik1 computer is a loose term, haha! We have little indicator lights to the right of the seat about at elbow level, give or take. We never would've found them because their underneath a box thing that we call the "computer". Unless you stick your hand under them you wouldn't know they are there. Ours is similar to yours in age we guess late 80's early 90's.
@@cambriacrabtree7949 That is a indicator light bar for oil pressure overheat and alternator charge. Check power to key switch overhead first. There are relays in by engine towards front also and a circuit breakers. These are easy to repair unlike my new CAT 289 ecm high tech stuff. There are Electric schematic online . I downloaded one ..look on images on Google .
Hi great video , how much full take by hour , rgds Luis

I will keep mine.
We have a 2014 CAT 289 CTL.
To much high tech issues and DPF emissions.
It has a Kubota engine 😆

How do you drain hydraulic fluid on this model? We have this model it has some water in the fliud

Hey I was wondering how to change the hydraulic fluid is it into the gearboxes I’m not sure I’m new at this because I have a L7 81

Do you just unscrew the charge screen? Do you have to do anything else to clean it?
it lifts out clean it with diesil or brake fluid . Check magnet under cap . Use 10w-30 motor oil in hyd tank as per New Holland.
Neat machine
Older IR melroe Bobcats I had were excellent.
Thanks

Check suction screen in sump. Common to clog up.
Left chain making noise now 6000 hours.
Where did you find the u joint at
