This is a wonderful tutorial! I’m working on an Oslo hat, and this is just what I needed! Also, I linked your video in my Knit Companion as per one of your other tutorials!! Thank you!
Girl bless you for making this! You really should do more tutorials! You’re fabulous at teaching! I watched all of your Vlogmas episodes last month so when I was looking for a tutorial on this and saw your name I thought YES! I love her! Thanks for this help!🙏🏼💃🏻
Thank you so much for painstakingly showing exactly where your needle is going in the stitch. I was actually thinking “I KNOW my stitch count will be off” and then you showed what to do if that happens. Doing my happy dance
Thank you so much! I just bought this pattern and will cast on today. I will be using your method of casting on for a folded brim! Thanks again I love it. Very informative! 🧶❤️
thank you so much for this, I crazily decided to cast on a very complicated bonnet project for my niece, and your tutorial was the only one that explained every aspect of it. Thank you thank you thank yoouuu!!
Thank you so much. I’m starting a hat with a double brim and in my mind I was believing I could it the way you showed I just wasn’t sure didn’t know if I wanted to put all that work in it and I not work but thanks to you I will continue as my mind was thinking. Thanks so much. You answered one of your questions that you didn’t miss teaching but look here you are teaching. I think it matters what you are teaching because you are pretty good at it. My daughter is a ieacher.. blessings
Thank you so much dear, it's my first time making folded brim, with the clearly tutorial u make my folded brim is so easy, blessed to have ur tutorial, its realy helpful. With love
Bless you, I cast on for the Oslo hat with a German twisted cast on and was scared it wouldn’t work as well as provisional! This looks great and was so clear and helpful, I love the tip for hiding the tail too.
Thanks so much for an easy to follow tutorial!! I really appreciate you taking the time to zoom in and focus the camera so I could see what you were doing. It was a huge bonus to see you illustrate this technique in both continental and english knitting styles. The icing on the cake for me was your trick at the end for weaving in the tails. So So Good!
Thank you! This is such a neat way to join for a folded brim. Very concise and love the stitch by stitch directions with the close-ups of what to look for.
Exactly the type of tutorial I needed…The slow explanation and up close camera shots are soooo appreciated. Many thanks for taking the extra time taken on the the details!
This was great, Natalie! Thanks so much for such a well explained and demonstrated tutorial. I was confused with the written directions for my Oslo hat. It was so easy after watching you. Thanks😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’m making a hat using a pattern that doesn’t call for a fold over brim. I just wanted to give it a try. It looks great, thanks to you.
I learned so much from this tutorial and I was dreading this step on the Oslo Hat I’m making. Now I’m feeling excited and ready! Thank you! I’ve subscribed to your channel.
Great tutorial!! I love that you’re doing more of these and tips. As a fairly new knitter I really appreciate benefiting from your expertise. Thanks!!! 🧶💕🧶
Useful video, thank u! (I hate to lose time for provisional cast-on, the 2needles cast-on is a good idea to have less tight cast-on stitches, and avoid the needs of scrap yarn. Really I don't know why I didn't think about this thing by myself, now it seems so obvious!!) Lisa (from Rome, Italy) 🤗
Yay! I did this on another pattern and when I explained it to another knitter she looked and me like I was going crazy. 🤷♀️ i don’t know how to do a provisional and didn’t want to learn when I was knitting up the gloves so I did it this way - knitting is amazing bc there’s so many ways to accomplish the same thing.
I find it easier to use a crochet hook as my right hand “needle” when joining my folded brim… then put the stitch on my other needle… but I do use a lot of black yarns for my ribs/hats
I'm totally intimidated by the provisional cast on and am so glad I came across this tutorial!! Thank you so much! I couldn't find the link to the tutorial for the long tail cast on with two needles.. Could you help, please?
Hi from the U.K. hope you’re well thank you for this tutorial the instructions were very clear. Please would you let me know if you teach lace or cable for a sweater or cardigan I would like to knit one for a little girl. Im already a knitter but I have trouble decreasing whilst continuing in the pattern. If the answer is yes I will book some lessons with you. By the way I’ve just bought your pattern for this hat Thank you 😊
Isn't most pervisional cast ons done with a crochet chain st? Iv never attempted nor needed to tho, a cast on like this, but I forsure like this way so much better... I bet you was a wonderful teacher. I'm glad we have you, but it's a shame for all the kids who would've had you teach them. ❤️

Finally a good tutorial on this beautiful but oh so fiddly method! After frogging the collar 2 times I finally did an excellent job thanks to u!!

This was perfectly thorough, I couldn’t find a similar tutorial using the long tail cast on. Thank you! 🙌🏻
Thank you for sharing this. I am one of those who always had a mess using the provisional cast on method. I can’t wait to try this.

Hooray!! Happy to help!
That turned out beautifully. Thank you for showing the option. Also, the two tricks (hints) at the end were really helpful.
You're an awesome teacher. I love double-hemmed hats so I'm going to try this method. I've subscribed.
Thanks so much for demonstrating this! I can see myself using this technique for a hemmed cuff on socks, too...feels like a game changer :-)

Excellent tutorial. Thank you, Natalie
This makes so much more sense to me, love it! Thanks!😀
Thank you so much for this very clear tutorial.!
Thank you, nice tutorial. Have a good day everyone.
Love it. Reminds me of the brims on loom knit hats.
I love this tip… I do a lot of double cuff brims(it gets pretty cold here in Missouri too) and I’m definitely going to try this from now on!
Very clear tutorial…thanks so much!

thank you thank you!!!
Hi Natalie, I really like this tutorial and technique! Thanks. Do you cast on the same amount as a traditional hat with ribbing or a smaller amount?
Thanks so very much
I'm totally intimidated by the provisional cast on and am so glad I came across this tutorial!! Thank you so much! I couldn't find the link to the tutorial for the long tail cast on with two needles.. Could you help, please?
@Tanis B I ended up using the provisional cast on method after all, and it's not as difficult as I thought it would be! Give it a try!
Hello from Mounds Illinois.
Thank you for this tutorial! Will this also work for a folded collar (ribbing) when knitting a sweater, or would you recommend another method ?

Hi there Question: when you knit the folded rim is it loose compared to knit 1 purl 1. Thanks
What if you are using DPNs? How do you set up to hem?
Disapointing to see no photos on the Ravelry Beanie project page. I went over hoping to see your finished project.

Help! Do I just decrease at the end the reverse of the increase? I’m really struggling here 😮
Thank you so much 🌹🌹
Great tutorial ! Thanks!
