- Very cool option for a banjo pickup. Super responsive and easy install. With additional shims and a microporous rubber slave, it can fit on virtually any banjo, and the zip ties allow for multi-way attachment of the female output jack to the bracket hooks of the banjo.

im glad you tried it without picks, since i dont play with picks either, so it should be pretty accurate to what it would sound like for me. im not sure, but this might just be the pickup for me
Sweet man, thanks, I just got one in, gonna give it a go. I use picks so it might be brighter, even. I might get a very short patch cable to add to the input, so if I step on it,hopefully it’ll just come out instead of taking the pickup and bridge with it. I am very likely to do that. Good review.

I purchased it. The sound quality is actually really good through my para DI. I just wish they offer a better mounting system. The cable ties are fiddly!
Do you think you would get better low end if you switched the position to the other side? I’ve been looking for affordable pickups for my open back banjo to be used on Twitch streams. Running straight into OBS with an audio interface - no EQ.
