Great stuff, and well worth the $299 for VIP. Pure "edutainment", an investment into my future, and supporting these 4 great landscape photographers. Well worth it all around - thanks Nick!
Just had the VIP package gifted to me for my 60th birthday. My wife and I took a road trip out to see family in BC in September and in true form, my wife had 'games' to play to while the time away while driving. One of the questions on my quiz was 'if money was no object, what would you do to improve your photography hobby'. My answer was to invest in the F4 Roadtrip. Lo and behold...to my surprise, for my 60th birthday in the middle of September, my wife and kids had gathered to grant me the gift of the F4 VIP package. I am well through most of the series and have begun learning from the processing tutorials. All I can say is "Thank you!". The amount of investment required is truly paltry compared to the edutainment value never mind the tremendous sharing of processing techniques from all 4 of you...which...BTW I very much appreciate differs from one to the other. Seriously....thank you. You have been instrumental in my growth as a photographer/artist (and no doubt thousands more). I will post this on all four of your ytube channels as I know some were not happy that you were charging for the course. All I can say is, it is truly worth the small investment, though I , like many have not been in the position to be able to appreciate what you have accomplished given the current COVID-19 situation. Truly brilliant.
Also glad I bought the VIP package, finished all the episodes (will be watching them again) going through the editing videos now and they are fantastic, learning so much, so Thank you Nick. Great content, bring on Season 2 and more.
I went to the launch party not knowing what exactly was being released, but it took all of 5 seconds to rationalize purchasing the VIP package and I haven't regretted a second of it! There is so much info packed into the videos and tutorials that will keep me edutained for at least a few months.
I just bought the F4 Roadtrip VIP bundle! I just love all you guys but especially Gavin with all his funny but educational video's. But because of him I learned to know you to and have watched many of your youtube video's as well. When I saw this announcement of the F4 Roadtrip, I knew I had to have it to learn even more. Thanks a lot to all 4 of you for doing so much for free, that's the reason I wanted to support you in this way too, especially in this weird coronavirus era. Keep it up! Kind regards from a Dutch girl. PS, and for all the people complaining about the price, it's 5 months of work for 4 people. You can watch it over and over again. And if it is to much at once, save up for it. You know they are worth it. And would you work for nothing all the time?
I hesitated a bit given the price but I really enjoyed it and fully recommend it! After being not able to travel for 1.5 years it was incredibly refreshing to go on this road trip with you guys. The tutorials were very useful with lots of different perspectives covering a wide range of locations. I also learned a lot from the post-processing videos. Looking forward to season 2!
Got the VIP, very much worth the money with the tutorials and files to work with. Each photographer's styles shows through with the editing process. I loved the episodes and everybody's chemistry with each other. The best part was you showed the reality of photography; places are crowded, the weather is against you, racing to get a composition before losing light.
My business has ground to a halt due to the plague so I won't be handing over any cash too soon but I think it looks like absolutely fantastic value from four of the most talented, genuine and creative landscape togs on YT. Thanks guys.
@@NickPage thanks, I shoot landscapes but more for my pleasure/leisure, my photo business is centred around event/live performance and portraiture so I expect that it's going to be a long hard climb back to be honest. We still have the brakes on in Australia and will likely take a more conservative route back to the new normal. Best of luck to you guys, you deserve to prosper given the mammoth efforts you all put in to provide a consistent stream of quality content.
Dear F4 guys, I just finished your F4 package of ‘in the field’ as well as the processing. What an incredible job you did! You put out a quality video package. It was well worth the expense. The edited shots were well done showing a variety of locations, camera techniques and entertainment. I can’t think of anything else that comes close to what you developed. The information for various camera techniques was diverse and very helpful to anyone in photography. You coordinated your information so well. It also helped that you provided entertainment along the way. I can only imagine how exhausting the trip must have been for you. I truly appreciate the efforts you put into the development of this video package. It was well organized and very comprehensive. Thank you so much for putting this together. I plan to watch it again in bits and pieces when I need inspiration in composition and editing. I hope you plan on doing another one like this…after you have had a chance to recover from this one. You really should promote this more on your UA-cam videos and web pages. Each time you post a video, you should include a link to the Road Trip video package. It is really good stuff and more people could benefit from Road Trip videos. It is money well spent and well worth the investment. Sincerely, Mary Hulett
I am happy to support all that you guys do living long enough to know that such creativity and talent comes at a cost just like going to college or vocational college to become a welder or a cook, a baker so what I say to everybody who complains please reconsider!
I decided to trust the crew and put down my money for the VIP package. Between the four they have given us a lot of great free content through UA-cam and I expected the F4 roadtrip to be great. So far I have enjoyed it and there is actually a lot of content packed in. It is going to take me a while to get through all of it. Thanks!
It's so worth every penny! Tom is taking some serious heat on his channel for the cost but he obviously has quite a few vocal Aussie subscribers! My wife is from Glasgow and I was under the impression copper wire was invented in Scotland ... two Scots fighting over a penny! But I've come to realize copper wire must have been invented in Australia! 🤣 I can't wait to dig into all of this juicy content!! Thanks for everything!!
It was the same as here on Heaton's page when he posted it, which was a day before this one. It's always the most dedicated fanboys that comment first. Wait a few hours or day or so and it will be the same here - and rightly so. Charging full wack, for the tutorial series is fine, but £200 to watch 10 youtube videos of a group of people, all of whom you might not even enjoy watching - overacting and having a laugh, is simply taking the mick. And no, I am lucky enough to be working and able to afford it. I am just bewildered they did this at a time when so many content providers are making stuff they normally charge for and giving it away free. And as for those that say these guys give their videos away "free" normally, they have - and continue to - benefit financially from them, both directly and indirectly.
Joe Simes, perhaps you might like to research why people in Australia are baulking at the price. Just general mathematics at XE.com, conversion of $299 USD equals over $440 AUD compared to around £230 or €260. I wonder if you would pay 440 or more? Sure, it is great content, and no, I don't expect it for free, but...
Congratulations Nick for sharing the experiences of this photographic trip and videos explaining the photographic shots taken in this great experience. We will look forward to these videos.
Do the F4 processing tutorials offer something significantly more than your personal PS tutorials? Just wondered if it was worth it to purchase the whole F4 package or get it without the processing videos.
well in my own personal videos I hit hard on using smart objects a bit more than my other videos to date. I think the biggest value personally is seeing the different editing styles.. sometimes just watching how the same thing can be done multiple different ways can be pretty interesting.
Nick, I'm on furlough, so can't justify spending that sort of cash now. Am I sore about it? No way! I wish you and your fellow nutcases every success with it; in different circs I'd be all over it myself. Cheers!
The way I justified it to myself, half the purchase price is for the new videos, half of it is a small bonus for all the killer youtube videos you four have put out over the years. Either way y'all deserve the money for the time and effort you put in to everything we get.
So you basically decided to give $150 bucks away to a stranger because .... That’s generous, for sure, but maybe you could have given it to a charity instead?
Nick, you're the last of the F4 I subscribed to but maybe the best speaker. I get why you need to charge and was shocked at some of the comments on the other guys pages about the price. Thanks for all the content you've made to date (and thanks to Adam, Gavin and Thomas too). Next payday you get my purchase and I hope lots of people are doing the same.
Appreciate that man. So far feedback from the course has been 100% positive which is pretty crazy. Everyone that has invested has loved it, hopefully you do as well! Thanks for the kind words
It is surprising how the vocal/ verbal characteristics of the audiences vary from one UA-camr to another! People in Thomas's video put harsh, sometimes rude comments.............but here I read very friendly and supportive comments! Anyway, I feel better now! I commented on Thomas's video, I am putting the same comment in short here: I think the value of this edutainment is worth MORE than the price. And actually the workshops are moving to Online strategies, so whether we adapt or not............. you guys have a made a 'futureproof' virtual workshop with multiple photographers in multiple locations and multiple perspectives. I suggest you to put this perspective in your marketing for this course! I congratulate all of you great photographers to make this exceptionally valuable course!
I think that that is a great perspective! We weren’t actually thinking about that at the time but in hindsight that’s exactly what we were creating a virtual workshop with the four of us as instructors
Hi Nick. Sorry I have got the money spare at this time. I think that you are fantastic photographers and that you have fun has well. I been watching a lot of the four of you, and you all have had me in stitches , plus I have learned some photographic skills . I wish you all the very best.
Been following you boys for awhile, but my first intro to the F4 trip was your zoom holiday special. Intrigued I purchased the package and am glad I did. Fun to watch and tons to learn (especially since it hits some spots I'm familiar with). Well done and, while not everyone's cup of tea, I thoroughly enjoyed it and got a lot out of it. Still holding out hope for F4 Roadtrip the Redoux!
Just wondering Nick if it's potentially worth bundling the episodes individually? That would allow people access at a much lower price point and they get to pick and choose there favourite photographer/location/image combo. Can totally understand the price, especially considering the joint time investment between the team must be in the thousand hour plus range
We had thought about that.. but the logistics would be so tough.. can you imagine how messy that online store would look? I know its a price point that hurts for some, but for those people there is no rush it will be there waiting for those that cant pick it up right now.
@@NickPage I had that thought amongst others potential negatives. The less barriers to between the customer and the purchase the better. The only other suggestion I think of is the inclusion of PayPal credit as a payment option. I'd image Paypal has been discussed and is in the logistically troublesome column. If I could pay the course the course off monthly I'd have likely have bought it because it looks fantastic, your in locations I want to visit and I know the wife would get a massive kick out of it :) Fingers crossed it's a massive success for you chaps because it will be well deserved!
@@ChuckleChuckleVision We do have paypal integrated with the store so it can be used for those that prefer paypal, because I know that is a large percentage of the audience.
I just thought it was going to be a movie - i didn't even know it was tutorials 🤣 Edit: after watching the previews and seeing how much we get for only $300 USD I'd say it's 100% worth it. It's like if Grand Tour met photography. Brilliant! I can't wait to sit down and start binging these!
Yeah I think your not the first person to think that.. its our fault for not making that more clear.. think hour long episodes.. that have in the field lessons, but story line and adventure connecting all of the lessons together. Thrills spills and.. tears..
Hi Nick, ever thought of doing a subscription based model, something like $10 a month for an episode or 2 a month? Don’t know if that’s feasible, just thought I’d put it out there. I’ll be buying it once I’m back at work it looks great.
Nick Page Actually Nick thinking on it maybe pay per view or purchase individual episodes might be easier and less expensive to set up than subscription based, I certainly think it would considerably increase your uptake and revenue especially in the current financial situation
Just watched all of the episodes, etc. Bought the VIP bundle. I think it was value for money given the nearly 10 hours of episode content, then tutorials, etc. Less than the price of a one or two day field tutorial and a lot more learning included. It was also highly entertaining. When you add up flights, trip expenses, gear, 4 weeks of work, etc. etc. the five guys invested a lot of time and effort into this and have to make a living. I don't see a lot of particularly rich landscape photographers and, during 'lockdown, I'm happy to support guys who give us so much pleasure (free) during normal times. Thanks, Thomas, Nick, Adam, Gavin and Greg. Btw, I thought Nick's pano of the Zabriskie Badlands was the best image displayed despite the fact he 'photoshopped the hell out of it'. Regards
It really means a lot John! very glad you enjoy the videos. So far I have only hear 100% positive feedback from those that purchased the course. I think that those that are willing to invest in photography education see the value, those that are accustomed to free content only never will. Its funny your not the first to point out that Pano as their favorite.. I personally thought it was.. meh haha I like the alabama hills photos the best I think.
Super course ...... it's really worth the money ! It's an educational funny movie that's giving so much ..... and then the post processing tutorials ..... TOP !!!! Do you sell the print of the four of you with the trailer ? Looking forward for Season 2
Nick Page i can say this. Legit lol moment # 1: when Adam Gibbs slowly positions his head-band up around his head as he prepares to rub T Heaton’s foot. I wasn’t ready for that.
I know it's been a while since this came out but I want to buy it. Could someone help me out with some info. It's a download right? How big is the file? Trying to figure out how to make this work best. And of course for the VIP. thanks
I totally get that a lot of people can't afford any of the F4 packages right now. I'm just glad that I can afford it, and for me it's money well spent. I finally downloaded everything yesterday and watched the first 4 episodes. I'll binge the rest today. Then the tutorials. BTW your Photoshop package is great too and the launch party was a lot of fun. Other than the laggy live comments. 😒
I am going to invest in full for this but I just want to ensure that within in a matter of weeks or months you all don’t run a ‘41.67%’ discount or some other enrolment incentive as many other UA-camrs do with their content...That would be incredibly annoying. Are these prices lock in and fixed for the foreseeable?
Yeah we elected to not run any kind of sale because we thought it would be 1. gimmicky, and 2. not fair to those buying the course later on because of the current situation in the world. This will be held at the same price for a good long time.. dont expect to see any sales for at least a year
That was certainly not one of my finest moments LOL you would be amazed how many of those scenes were totally just adlibbed on the spot That scene is a perfect example LOL
Holy ***! I saw the video from Thomas' channel, then followed the link to yours and got curious about your take of that little trip. I thought you had an interesting style for the photos and entertaining content but this intro here, it's like I'm watching The Grand tour. You guys did well on this one!
Hi Nick, I would have to agree with Robert below, Why would anyone think it would be free!! I purchase the VIP and only been able to watch the first two and enjoyed it!! I want to just sit down and watch them all! Great work!! Take care from Texas!
Hi Nick, I have not completed it yet, but I did want to give you an update so far. I'm up to episode 8 and have viewed a few of the tutorials. Over all I have really enjoyed the videos and worth the VIP cost. I like the store line and how each of you have talked about your shots. The drone shots are great and the music was a good choose. The music to me is fitting for men on a mission!! Also, episode 3 - "Epic Waves" makes we want to go and shot those waves. Hope to some day! I had hit a low in my photography and this has made me want to go out and shot. Getting Greg Snell to do the video part was a great ideal. Again, Over all I have really enjoyed the product that you guys have put out. I hope you will do it again next year!! Take care from Texas!!
I was all set to purchase a new tripod but now the road trip is available which looks so tempting, but that means putting up with my Benro carbon fibre travel tripod a while longer which is so flimsy and has next to no stability - a photographer's dilemma!
Why would any rational person think this would be free? Of course you need to charge , its like going on a photography workshop, for practically free with four teachers at the same time, basically a recurring event for $75 per instructor. The last workshop I looked at going on locally was $875 for one day with a relatively unknown outside of our area to a location I go all the time, Acadia National park. Never apologize for making a living, keep up the good work and I will be placing my order as soon as I get back from my clandestine vacation.
I think it's one of those Robert, the team did a great job of building the excitement over a few months and I think it was inevitable that there would be a level of disappointment when that content ends up being financially beyond a large part of the audience. Maybe there is a conversation to be had for episode 2 about managing audience expectations. That's not to excuse some of the rather negative comments I've seen across the chaps channels
And I’m back, ordered the full package, completely, I mean beyond completely satisfied with the videos and the instruction included in each shooting scenario. As a bonus I get personalized tutorials on editing by each instructor as well as practice images( not to be shared of course) that have already improved my editing trezmendously. Break the cost down and you get for $29 a video with 2-4 photography lessons and many laughs, 3-4 editing lessons per video and a lifetime of knowledge I guarantee will help any photographer or PS user. Going back and re-editing old photos of mine now and reposting with many new comments is an eye opener as I thought I just sucked as a landscape photographer but now I find that a tweak to the composition, remove distractions and careful editing to guide the viewer have made me believe their is Hope I will be producing quality images for years to come. Thanks F-4 hopefully version two remains as affordable as the first one!
I wish I wish I wish - I had a job. And when I do guys - you’ll get the measly dollars for your unique and crazy content, GAW DAMN WORTH IT! (I've followed you all individually and collectively for some great times now, and will looooove to see this entire project on my screen) I wish you good fortune w/ this hairbrained and inspired project. It pains me that your struggling in these times, may we all get back to the things we love soon, w/ each other, and prosper.
I just wish I could have been on that road trip! The price for the VIP package is worth it for sure. It is a fraction of the cost of a week long workshop and no need to stay in some seedy/ smelly hotel room with Gavin . Now I know what I will spend my next C.E.R.B. Canadian Government relief check on..... Thanks Nick, the Boyz and Trudeau! Got to do my part to stimulate the economy.
I’m all in on this as soon as I can. At this time I can’t spend the money but instead of that new “cheap” tripod I’ll first buy this package considering the 5 people involved in it. Based on trailers and teasers already published... it’s a no brainer. Gear you can buy from anyone anytime. Knowledge like this it hard to find. I’m already loving it and I didn’t even bought it yet. That’s how good I think it is. :)
And Nick ignore and fuck those guys who think you don't deserve to be a part of this group or that your aren't a talented photographer. We love you, your work and your tutorials-vlogs alot. I even aspire to have your kinda post-processing style in my work and you're my role model. A masterpiece like f4trip should not be free and has to be paid. Your guys are sharing your skills, experience and tips which has taken you so much time, effort and money. Anyway, definitely looking forward to buying it.
I really really appreciate it Harish. People that follow me know that I struggle with feelings of self doubt on a regular basis, so words like that shared cut me deeper than most. I really appreciate your support.
For me it’s simple. 4 expert content creators produce more than your average UA-cam content by travelling thousands of miles! Giving their knowledge, filmed to a high standard! Jees I’ve seen workshops for one day go for £250 this is hours and hours of content for not much difference in price, BUT! It’s from 4 guys not one workshop photographer called Brian. (Sorry Brian) #truestory
Just looked at the comments on Tom's channel. Wow. I'm going to have to save up for it, but even if I wasn't going to buy it I wouldn't be talking down about it, sight unseen. You guys have to earn a living. Sheesh!
Nick Page plus, if you go on a workshop you have to buy a camera and whatnot, plus spend time walking round the place and taking photos (ick). Much better to watch it on TV.
Had a chance to meet these guys while they were filming on the Oregon Coast. Very nice and approachable. Hope to purchase the tutorials soon. I wonder if I am in the video and if so can get some proceeds? 😂
haha That is a relief to hear! We had one guy go on and on about how ruined everyone's experience shooting that day because we were filming. I am hoping that wasn't your experience as well! I will send you for free any episode you appear in! :) shoot me an email nickpagephotography@gmail.com
Nick Page 😂. Thanks Nick. Dad and I were there along with a hundred others as you know. It was a pretty cool experience. Wish I myself would have been making some content for my channel but I was too busy trying to catch an epic wave. Take Care.
Very fair summary Nick. It's not for me at that price but I was not expecting it to be free from early on with the dedicated website and teaser comments. I was just hoping it might be in my price range but family bills etc mean I can only justify so much on photography. You and the others run a business so you set what you feel is the right price to cover the money you want to make and punters like me decide if we can justify the investment and/or think it's worth the price. I can't justify the investment currently and can't tell about the value as not really enough in the teaser trailers to judge beyond the normal sort of prank stuff which is fun to watch. So a sincere good luck to you all and I might buy it in the future if still available and price drops but honestly I don't begrudge you charging.
Yeah I think that the misconception of what is in the content is totally on us.. we focused far too much on the entertainment and storyline (because thats what we were the most entertained by) rather than the educational content. too many are thinking of it like buying a season of breaking bad..rather than going on a three week workshop with four photographers... that happen to be traveling in a breaking bad style 1979 kit companion :)
What happened to the trailer? When it was new I was young, lol. Right now I don't have the budget. The post processing intrigues me but I opted out of Lightroom and Photoshop and am using another photo editor. The road trip with the tutorials will be of interest. I'll have to save my pennies. Hoping the economy kicks back in gear soon. Yes, you should be selling this as you put in your time and money putting this together.
We actually ended up giving it away to a follower! There’s no way I want it to drag it all the way back to Washington state averaging 4 miles to the gallon :-)
I'm sure it's worth the money, unfortunately I can't afford it. Maybe at a later date you could produce a video with some short clips taken from the series so we can at least get a few hints and tips?
I completely understand where your coming from Rick. We have actually made 10 little trailers one for each episode that give a glimpse into more of the footage.. just scroll down on this page. www.f4roadtrip.com
Great all that great knowledge without smelling Adam, hearing Gavin snivel, Tom's odd accent or put up with Nick's taste in RV's - worth every penny! :tongue in cheek: I'm holding out for a coupon. :D
I'm dying to see it but just don't have the money at this time, unfortunately. I fully support you charging that price and it seems like a good deal. When covid-19 is in the past this will be my first selfish purchase. I hope you guys are selling lots!
Hi Nick, congrats to you and the F4 crew on getting this course out. I am wondering at what level is this pitched? Is this similar to your collective youtube vids? Having seen the promo/shenanigan vids it would be good to see/hear actual footage of the post production vids to get a sense of them. Cheers :)
Thank you for the congratulations! Skill level wise it’s kind of all over the board. I am teaching the advanced stuff that I always talk about. Lots of exposure blending luminosity masks and dual processing smart objects, but there’s a lot of more basic Lightroom workflows and so forth being taught by the other guys as well. That’s kind of the benefit to this collaboration is that we all have such different styles and it’s all being taught
Yes it is expensive but after i saw it it isn't expensive at all. When you think of all that time and work that went into this project with five people it is very fair priced. The Roadtrip itself isn't that educational (ok maybe if your are just starting with photography) but it is incredibly entertaining so thank you very much guys 🙂. I hope there will be a Season 2 if the world is back to "normality"
Those 10 episodes in the field alone are the 299$ worth it! I have one suggestion for season 2. Keep the entertainment! I would like to a bit more about how you guys look at locations. There are a lot of scenes where you guys were talking about it, but it would help me to see, what you saw via your camera screen. 16mm is going to be different than what you see via the videocam.
Is that Ben Horne doing the VO?!? Awesome! I hope you guys can do special guests in the future...you know, like specialists or whatnot. How about a retouching course?
@@NickPage it looks like it was a fun project, and you guys captured great stuff! I'll give the video a share on my Facebook page so the word gets out a little for you guys. You probably have to pay off Adam's gambling debt.
Like you and several other talked about I was thinking about this as a movie or TV show and thinking about the price with that mind set my initial reaction was holy crap that's expensive. But I'm coming around to the point of view that this is really more of a tutorial, actually a bunch of tutorials, and from that mind set the price is more than fair. I intend to purchase the VIP package, just need a few more days to get there. BTW I love all 4 of your UA-cam channels and the photography you guys all create.
Yeah I think that misconception is totally on us.. we focused far too much on the entertainment and storyline rather than the educational content. too many are thinking of it like buying a season of breaking bad..rather than going on a three week workshop with four photographers... that happen to be traveling in a breaking bad style 1979 kit companion :)
Congratulations on your accomplishment. For me personally I enjoy your individual work. The buddy movie aspect is not my personal cup of tea. One moon shot was enough for me. The price is inline with the amount of work you put in and what people will get out of it. I wish you much success.
Congratulations on getting this done, unfortunately I can't really justify the price to myself :) For those like me who don't care about the edit tutorials 199$ for 7 hours of fun is way too much. That is like 20 cinema tickets or almost 2 years of Netflix.
I understand where your coming from.. but your looking at it like buying a movie.. rather than attending a workshop... if you compare it to in the field education or other tutorials That price is far more reasonable
@@NickPage I totally understand that. And for the guys who would typically go on workshops and are also interested in the post processing this is probably some great value. Though I do think that a considerable part of all of your youtube communities are folks that just enjoy watching you guys show us some amazing locations out there. I think if you had a separate tier / subset of the content more geared and priced towards that you would have had a lot more reach, and that would come on top of the people who would still buy the full course. Oh well, maybe if there will be a season 2 :)
I love watching you guys but, here’s the thing; the tutorials I’m sure is worth the money, I realize you wanted to make a film about your adventure and acting to entertain the viewers. Tutorials, I think you have every right to charge if you choose to as well as the adventure , and honestly, youtubers are spoiled with free videos and tutorials and that’s why they see as expensive! My channel has mostly bad videos by my standards but, I do it to share my journey as a creator. FStoppers get the same crap about their tutorial charges as well but, they did one thing that have won them thousands of subscribers by showing all the behind the scenes awesome story on how they filmed the tutorials and actually spend thousands of dollars in travel and expenses. FStoppers are one of my favorites and I have purchased things through affiliate links because I like them a lot! Their music is awesome, their experience is real and they do have some great tutorials. Don’t get discourage by my feedback and others, you guys are still awesome and your channels will flourish with time. I for one thought it would be free to see your whole adventure trip and in return you would become more popular, get more views, more affiliate links, more sponsors, etc. You can do more live tutorials QA where people can pay to ask questions. Good luck with everything and hope you keep creating. Be blessed! ✊🏼
I think the key difference between us and F stoppers, is that we create lots of in the field content for free for UA-cam on a weekly basis...the only in the field material you will see from them are they behind the scenes videos from their photographing the world series. I would also like to Think that our videos will be a hell of a lot more fun and entertaining but I will let the people who pick up the videos be the judge of that! Also you can’t underestimate the value of having four photographers teaching rather than just one
I don't begrudge you guys trying to make money on a business idea and it seems quite different from all the other tutorial content out there. So bravo to you guys. I think repeatedly calling this purchase an investment is poor choice of words though
I’d be interested to hear your reasoning for why it is a poor choice of words. I think that education is always an investment... And while the entertainment portion of the course has been probably overstressed, in the end this is a landscape photography educational course with humor added in, rather than a humorous course with some education
i wish i could purchase it :( but i'm not surprised it is not free, and it's completely logical, it's your work, and i'm sur it's a good deal and it is worth it. If people thought it would be free, maybe they don't understand the market and how life works... Who is the voice on the trailer ? He reminds me of someone, but i can't put a name on it
I’m going to buy this just to help out that Gavin guy. With only 40000 subscribers ya know he’s not making any money on UA-cam. $403.82 well spent. In all seriousness the 4 of you are amazing and the 4 of you together with Greg behind the camera! Amazing AF! P.S that crook Heaton charged me $90 to pre order his book and his calendar cost me almost $50 don’t share any of this money with him!
@@NickPage One of my favorite things, I think, is seeing you guys in familiar places (My only Honorable Mention from PSA is a shot of a surfer at Cape Disappointment) and having familiar situations arise. Thing is - your images (from all of you) are quite different from what I've captured in those places, so you've given me quite a bit to think about. Haven't started the editing videos yet, but I'm sure to learn a lot from them as well - particularly since I barely use Photoshop. BTW, you were the first landscape photographer from Washington that I found on UA-cam and I'm still with you.
Great stuff, and well worth the $299 for VIP. Pure "edutainment", an investment into my future, and supporting these 4 great landscape photographers. Well worth it all around - thanks Nick!
Just purchased as an investment. I look forward to learning from this journey!
F4 Roadtrip is possibly the best thing I've bought all year! Love it! shame I missed the launch party! Thanks guys and well done to you all! 😃
Thank you for Picking them up Jeff! really excited to hear your thoughts on them!
Congrats Nick! It looks amazing! 😍
I went to the launch party not knowing what exactly was being released, but it took all of 5 seconds to rationalize purchasing the VIP package and I haven't regretted a second of it! There is so much info packed into the videos and tutorials that will keep me edutained for at least a few months.
That is so awesome to hear! Really excited to hear what your final conclusions are
I just bought the F4 Roadtrip VIP bundle!
That means a lot! Super excited that you’re enjoying the videos! And the fact that you’ve watched them all already shows quite a bit of dedication!
My business has ground to a halt due to the plague so I won't be handing over any cash too soon but I think it looks like absolutely fantastic value from four of the most talented, genuine and creative landscape togs on YT. Thanks guys.
Completely understand where you’re coming from! Hopefully things get back to normal before too long
@@NickPage thanks, I shoot landscapes but more for my pleasure/leisure, my photo business is centred around event/live performance and portraiture so I expect that it's going to be a long hard climb back to be honest. We still have the brakes on in Australia and will likely take a more conservative route back to the new normal. Best of luck to you guys, you deserve to prosper given the mammoth efforts you all put in to provide a consistent stream of quality content.
Dear F4 guys,
I just finished your F4 package of ‘in the field’ as well as the processing.
This is on my wish list, Thx Nick!! Love your channel.
I would love to purchase this set
But its just to expensive
Particularly at the moment
I totally understand it’s a lot of money, it will be waiting there for you someday down the road when things are back to normal
I decided to trust the crew and put down my money for the VIP package. Between the four they have given us a lot of great free content through UA-cam and I expected the F4 roadtrip to be great. So far I have enjoyed it and there is actually a lot of content packed in. It is going to take me a while to get through all of it. Thanks!
If that incredibly well made trailer doesn't sell it, nothing will! Very impressed!
Thanks for everything!!
heheheheh outrageous Joe
You guys put a lot of time and effort into this venture and deserve to be compensated. Good luck with the project.
Cheers!
No problem at all man I completely understand. Thank you so much for the kind words hopefully things will get back to fairly normal before too long
The way I justified it to myself, half the purchase price is for the new videos, half of it is a small bonus for all the killer youtube videos you four have put out over the years. Either way y'all deserve the money for the time and effort you put in to everything we get.
Really appreciate that Seth! thank you
This is a very fair point.
So you basically decided to give $150 bucks away to a stranger because .... That’s generous, for sure, but maybe you could have given it to a charity instead?
Am I picking up hints of Ben Horne on the VO?
You are Ben is the man!
Enjoying the course immensely! Entertaining and I’m learning. Well worth the money.
Thank you so much Kathy!
I have to declare your trailer the winner Nick! Getting Ben Horne to narrate is so perfect!!
We will see what Adam releases tomorrow!
I will most definitely be getting this when I can afford it! Can’t wait!
Who else thinks that they should sell prints of them F4 group are the caravan, bobble heads of themselves, and F4 t-shirts?
I think bobble heads would be priceless. And the soundtrack.
Yeah, especially the bobble heads, lol
T-Shirts with all those funny faces! Gotta have one 🤓
If I could pay the course the course off monthly I'd have likely have bought it because it looks fantastic, your in locations I want to visit and I know the wife would get a massive kick out of it :)
Fingers crossed it's a massive success for you chaps because it will be well deserved!
@@ChuckleChuckleVision We do have paypal integrated with the store so it can be used for those that prefer paypal, because I know that is a large percentage of the audience.
@@NickPage oh right! I missed that on check out :) thanks
Just purchased! Thank you for making this available
Thank you so much for your support! Please let us know what you think of the videos
I just thought it was going to be a movie - i didn't even know it was tutorials 🤣
Edit: after watching the previews and seeing how much we get for only $300 USD I'd say it's 100% worth it.
Thrills spills and.. tears..
@@NickPage Yeah Nick - check out my edit. Absolutely buying this asap after seeing what we get for our money.
Mitch Watts Really appreciate that Mitch excited to see what you think of it all.
oh boy! oh boy! oh boy!!! LOL...I shoot from my 74 Shasta Compact...awesome! Looking forward to it!
Hi Nick, ever thought of doing a subscription based model, something like $10 a month for an episode or 2 a month? Don’t know if that’s feasible, just thought I’d put it out there. I’ll be buying it once I’m back at work it looks great.
That’s actually not some thing we had considered yet, perhaps that something we will talk about!
I see you were in Lone Pine! One of my favorite places to photograph :)
One of my favorite places as well! I want to spend far more time in those hills!
Super course ...... it's really worth the money !
It's an educational funny movie that's giving so much ..... and then the post processing tutorials ..... TOP !!!!
Do you sell the print of the four of you with the trailer ?
Looking forward for Season 2
As many people as we have had ask for thinking that perhaps bobble heads or posters might be a good idea LOL really appreciate your support man
Ordered the VIP option. You guys did a good job with this. Well worth the price.
Thank you Nick! excited to see what you think of the videos
And of course for the VIP. thanks
Yes it’s downloadable, and you can either choose to download the 4K version, or the HD version.
@@NickPage how big is the hd file? Please and thank you. Got to see if I need to buy a new drive
@@cecilyjohnson9669 I don’t know off the top of my head, but it should say on the website
Thanks for your support John
That means a lot John! Yeah the Zoom party was a bit of a mess haha, but I guess Zoom wasnt designed for quite that many people at once
This will be held at the same price for a good long time.. dont expect to see any sales for at least a year
Absolutely brilliant. A well worthy investment. Good job guys.
8 episodes in and loving it. Nick the way you tossed that tent around had me in stitches. Not sure how the guys did not loss it:)
That was certainly not one of my finest moments LOL you would be amazed how many of those scenes were totally just adlibbed on the spot That scene is a perfect example LOL
Watched it and worth every penny. More to come from the f4 project I hope ?
Holy ***! I saw the video from Thomas' channel, then followed the link to yours and got curious about your take of that little trip.
I thought you had an interesting style for the photos and entertaining content but this intro here, it's like I'm watching The Grand tour. You guys did well on this one!
I do wanna purchase it, but I can't right now... can I buy it later or is it limited time only? Looks awesome by the way! Great job guys, thank you!
I think on Thomas video he said it will be up "forever" :)
This will be available for the foreseeable future and will never go up in price.. no worries at all it will be there waiting for you!
@@SilverPawStudio Forever is a harder thing to promise haha I am only going to live for so long!
@@NickPage Ahhh you can hand down the legacy to your children...Haha.
The best trailer yet. Now to find a lot of free time.
What up Nico!!
Hi Nick, I would have to agree with Robert below, Why would anyone think it would be free!! I purchase the VIP and only been able to watch the first two and enjoyed it!! I want to just sit down and watch them all! Great work!! Take care from Texas!
Excited to hear what you think of them once you’ve completed it
Hi Nick, I have not completed it yet, but I did want to give you an update so far.
Always happy to provide dilemmas to my friends :-)
Why would any rational person think this would be free? Of course you need to charge , its like going on a photography workshop, for practically free with four teachers at the same time, basically a recurring event for $75 per instructor. The last workshop I looked at going on locally was $875 for one day with a relatively unknown outside of our area to a location I go all the time, Acadia National park. Never apologize for making a living, keep up the good work and I will be placing my order as soon as I get back from my clandestine vacation.
Well said Robert
@@robertleathers5630 Thank you very much Robert :)
Getting Ben Horne to do the voice over really adds a lot of credibility. Well done!
It pains me that your struggling in these times, may we all get back to the things we love soon, w/ each other, and prosper.
hopefully things are back to semi-normal before too long.
Not having to share the hotel with us is worth the cost of the videos by itself LOL
Really appreciate it! I hope you like the final product!
It’s on my Christmas list 🤣 if I can hold out that long
And Nick ignore and fuck those guys who think you don't deserve to be a part of this group or that your aren't a talented photographer.
So looking forward to the whole series.. 🙂🙂👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words Mali
Mali Davies Photography well said mate
Cheap for that amount and quality of content. Well done guys!!
Just looked at the comments on Tom's channel. Wow. I'm going to have to save up for it, but even if I wasn't going to buy it I wouldn't be talking down about it, sight unseen. You guys have to earn a living. Sheesh!
Bought it ❗️taking a week of work to watch it might need a bit longer 🤘🤘🤘
Awesome! Excited to hear what you think of it
Another perspective on the pricing occurred to me...it's 28 months of Lightroom and Photoshop subscriptions...
True true, another perspective is it’s about 1/4 the cost of a decent workshop
:) shoot me an email
nickpagephotography@gmail.com
It does look good.
Awesome. Jealous having those amazing places to shoot
Thanks Nick!
This looks great. I have to put some money away for this, but can't wait to pick this up.
it will be there waiting for you!
@@NickPage Thanks. Will keep an eye out in the hope of you posting some post production samples :)

Ben Horne as the voiceover is such an awesome choice!!
haha yeah I wish I could have him overdub all my speaking parts!
Is that Ben Horn's voiceover?
none other than!
@@NickPage haha, nice!
I think that’s some great constructive feedback that if we ever do this again we will certainly keep in mind. Really hope you’re enjoying the videos
@@NickPage I loved it! At times it was like watching your vlogs. That makes it really cool. You all just stayed who you are.
Keep it going!
Honestly, I think the price sounds very reasonable. It's not in the budget for me to purchase now. That will change at some point.
Is that Ben Horne doing the VO?!? Awesome! I hope you guys can do special guests in the future...you know, like specialists or whatnot. How about a retouching course?
It is! Ben is one of my favorite people.
Looks like it will be great.
Thanks David!
@@NickPage it looks like it was a fun project, and you guys captured great stuff! I'll give the video a share on my Facebook page so the word gets out a little for you guys. You probably have to pay off Adam's gambling debt.
I like listening to you and the other guys, but you can't compete with Ben Horne. He has got the best voice on UA-cam 🙂
yeah.. part of me wanted to overdub all of my talking points with Bens soothing tones haha
I think you found a side gig for Ben - voice overs!
Larry Rudnick Completely agree! He’s got the voice for it for sure!
Nick Page it would be more entertaining if he read all of Gavin’s lines. 😜
best trailer out of the 4...
I was totally understandable and respectable!
I too was shocked to hear about people thinking this would be free... Can't wait!
Take My Money 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
here .. put it in my golden goblet :) haha
@@NickPage :)))))
Looks good not gonna lie but 300 is out of my budged that’s for sure.
I know times are tough right now. Maybe it will be in the budget someday down the road
i wish i could purchase it :( but i'm not surprised it is not free, and it's completely logical, it's your work, and i'm sur it's a good deal and it is worth it. If people thought it would be free, maybe they don't understand the market and how life works...
Who is the voice on the trailer ? He reminds me of someone, but i can't put a name on it
Maybe someday! It is the only and only Ben Horne!
@@NickPage it will be written on my letter for Santa !
Ben Horne ! Yes ! I didn't recognise him, i feel stupid now :D
Thanks
Love your work. This looks like a phenomenal body of edutainment too, but I cant justify $430 Aus. Maybe a Christmas present...
I totally understand
I’m going to buy this just to help out that Gavin guy. With only 40000 subscribers ya know he’s not making any money on UA-cam. $403.82 well spent. In all seriousness the 4 of you are amazing and the 4 of you together with Greg behind the camera! Amazing AF! P.S that crook Heaton charged me $90 to pre order his book and his calendar cost me almost $50 don’t share any of this money with him!
what about me.. can I have a cut? haha Thanks Jesse!
Nick Page looks like you did most of the work. You deserve most of the money. Stay safe down there!
The trailer started and I’m like”I know that voice”. You got Ben for voiceover?
You’re damn right we did! The best voice on UA-cam
I agree. It works.
Great work you four produced....!!!! But not everyone uses photoshop or light room, but the laughs would be worth a small donation.
On Episode 6 and loving it
That is awesome! would love to hear more about what you think of it all
@@NickPage One of my favorite things, I think, is seeing you guys in familiar places (My only Honorable Mention from PSA is a shot of a surfer at Cape Disappointment) and having familiar situations arise.
"Dare I mention this"? Given the price, I can understand your trepidation.
Mostly given then terrible comments on the other guy's channels.. crazy how angry people are about the price.
It is hard to believe anyone would think this course would be free. Looks great!
