  • I realize this video is long, but I wanted to show how I built my own PMA for my upcoming DC generator. I'm going to build it using the Chinese diesel as my power source. This could also be used for wind/water generation as well. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!

I'm hoping that when I get it hooked up to my diesel, she'll make some usable power! The impact doesn't spin it fast enough.

Try using the claws of the rotor. You only need one magnet round and flat with a hole in the center with North South faces. The claws will carry the field to the stator.

I tried that and didn't get much output.I used two speaker magnets. I thought it would work great and way easier. I have the video of that as well. I'm not sure I had strong enough magnets. Two of them fit nicely between the claws, though.

you need long magnets and should be close to the coils

They are just as close, if not closer than the claws were. The drill is only spinning about 200-300 rpm, and the motor will be spinning it at around 2500,so I'll test it as is and see what happens. I'll rebuild or modify as necessary. It's just a fun project to experiment with. Thanks for your suggestion!
