Just back when you wrote this comment I picked up an 01 1200S in my favorite blue for just $2,000!!. Its my fourth bike and I've never even heard of them until i bought it lol. It came well preserved in almost stock form, but with the Dale Walker full headers and exhaust, stage 2 carb kit with K&Ns, timing advance and cooling fan. For sure it is easily the most fun Ive ever had and i can't wait to ride it every day. I drooled over KLR650 for a decade and i was bored in a few months but i put 4,000 miles on the Bandit in 3 months and riding is physically painful for me, so that will tell you how much fun they are, its amazing. You will find a well preserved example, after this video i think i might also want a 1250 eventually hahaha
I bought an 03 Bandit 1200s to flip it.. But man..after I fixed the carb, I fell in love, I have 3 other bikes that collect dust now including my beloved R1!
Had a xj600,gpx600r, cbr1000f,vt1100 shadow,vlx600 shadow, Aprilia pegaso650. But the bandit 1200gv75 is the most fun I've had on a bike. Still have my vt1100 and pegaso too. Quite the portfolio at my age (22) xD
I've owned 2 Mk2 1200s and currently have a 1250, but those Mk1 Bandits still speak to me loudest. BTW, the 1250 is even easier to get 125hp from than the old carbed engines, but because of the massive low end and midrange it misses out on the big top end rush. Those oil cookers are fun.
That huey helicopter was the sound of freedom to so many during the war. I know you know that. I'm a big veitnam war buff . It is one of my favorite subjects
I got to spend a lot of time around the Hueys and Cobras at Fort Campbell, Kentucky as a child. I'll never forget the sound of those helicopters; they are unmistakeable. Cheers.
I’m right there with ya….my ‘97 1200 S has 33k and running very strong! I’m out here in Ohio and want to find more people riding bandits, just hang out and talk Suzuki lol. Safe riding my friend shiny side up!
Oh man, I love my West Texas roots. I remember being 10 and the sky was black from dust storms. Watched a haboob in Lubbock from their tall building move in at 60 mph. And the dude at the garage saying to stand in it. What people don't get is the dirt smell. You just won't get the full effect unless you smell it.

I was always a fan of the big Bandit but in 2003 Suzuki came out with the SV1000S. I could not resist the high revving V-twin. I still have that bike along with 6 more. It is my favorite (for most street rides). I like the old GSXR1100 air/oil cooled engines.
I experienced a sand storm once when I was in Egypt, not fun. It will be good to get back to normal times again, I am going stir crazy. Good vid as usual mate :)

I'm hoping those new crush washers and some gasket maker will dry things up. Fingers crossed. BTW, my KZ1000LTD used to leak ever so slightly from the lobes on the valve cover gasket. It was such an annoyance.
You're getting roundabouts now? Great practice place for getting a knee down.... over here, I'm sure it's illegal to go round more than twice though. We get the odd mild sandstorm come over from Africa but nothing like yours. Good one Mr. Kreitz, well done. Damn nice weather the past couple days. Today was great in Lubbock till it wasn't - wind then rain. Nice bikes for sure. Love muscle bikes myself. Just don't have one right now, only cruisers.
Some of that rain made its way down here to us this evening, but it was only sprinkles. I guess you guys used it all up; it's so dry right now. Cheers.

What mic cable? I didn't notice. :-p I've only ever experienced one dust storm, that was freaky as hell. It travelled all the way from the west coast of Australia, all the way through the outback and over to us on the east coast and was around 1000km wide. Crazy! Oh yeah, that looked awesome having the 3 bandits lined up! Fun times mate!
Hate the dust storms, here it's often just soil, not even sand. What a great bevvy of Bandits - awesome mate! For me the sausage roll is the unhealthy snack of choice when out on the bike :) Lovely video as always Tim - took me a while, man I'm so glad the pre-Christmas work-fest is over - Wifey & I are off camping now - all the best for new year my friend.
Greeting! I also have a problem with leaking oil on the cam cover bolts. Did you fix it? What is the procedure? Thanks in advance and best regards from Croatia.
Replace the valve cover gaskets (the main one on the outside and in the four small ones in the plug wells) and the crush washers under the cap screws. Do not tighten the cap screws to spec; 2/3 torque is plenty, because they fasten directly to the head.
When I first moved to Phoenix the weather said a haboob might be possible. I giggled a little WTF is a haboob. "Haha he said boob". About 2 miles in it hit. There was sand in places I didn't think possible.
Haha 🤣🤣🤣 Ya can't beat a roundabout. You should see the one in Swindon..... I'll link ya. Wireless required! Yeh, that storm looks blummin scary 😳 Nice paint job indeed 👍 3 Banditos look great together. Good ride fellas 👌 Thanks Tim. 🐕

I am one, too, but I never impede traffic. Unfortunately, it's a sickness out here, which why I was so surprised the guy was actually in the bike lane.
@@TimKreitzAdventures Wow, I'm surprised that they even have bike lanes. When I rode there it had none that I knew of and I rode all over Midland and Odessa.
Yeah, there is a growing system of bike lanes here, but cyclists rarely utilize them. They'll usually be in the middle of the lane, brazenly holding up a line of cars and trucks. Dealing with them can be super frustrating at times with the traffic problems we already have here.
@@TimKreitzAdventures I find that hard to believe. I have been biking for 30 years and bicyclist use the bike lanes. Holding up cars and trucks...why? does not even make sense. Don't get me wrong, the turbo was Outstanding, just not Bandit Time. Yours truly Scott Loch. Na, Professor Bandit B.T.E. Torque Enjoyment only, out,
There is nothing wrong with roundabouts .matey its better than over head cables with lights all over over the place.. we just feed into and feed out of roundabouts no queing
Hahahah my Texas is becoming the UK hahahahh..Portugal is the same way
LOL. That's the only roundabout for 200 miles in any direction. So random. :-D
MAN... Don't hate on the bicyclists, of which I am one!
There is just a general hate being passed around and it is engrained in drivers brains. Same thing with Donald Trump...many just hate him and not sure why. It has been driven into their brains also.
Beautiful if the fairings were off
Beautiful either way.
@@TimKreitzAdventures I'm trying to pick up a 400cc but the prices are rocketing man, £1200 for a 92 model, dunno how much that is in yank money but its not cheap were I am 😑
