Hey Morgan ,you’ll local fav plumber here and I’m almost proud of this tear down ,not just cutting it all up but respecting the work 🫡 check out a thing called jimmy caps ,they are plastic with a hose clamp on em ,u can buy those and just re use them any time u gotta demo more plumbing instead of hard caps if u going to cut it back out later
Hey Joey! Thanks for taking the time to do the video! I have done countless numbers of tear outs in my lifetime, yet it was cool to see you do just that in your video. You have such a great mannerism of how to explain what you are doing and why, and it is nice to see you being successful on your channel. Keep up the good work and thanks again for taking the time.
I can't unsee all thoes random wire nuts no tape no junction boxes splices. That stuff haunts me in my sleep! That's a fair bit of pvc but I got to wonder at what point would it be best to gut it to studs and reframe it? I do applaud them for insulation between rooms that's a step that isn't valuable to people these days building stuff. Milwaukee makes a nub drywall safe blade that's really short and not sharp so it can't cut wire or plumbing and works fairly well. It's cheaper than going the makita route for a special tool. The Linux lazer also has a cast iron cutting carbide blade that's under two inches total and is very drywall friendly (being carbide it last a long time too). Great work and I look forward to more!
@@MattHmm-rq6dn yeah, the whole place needs some work. I think they just want it functional as office spaces. They will fine tune stuff later I guess. I’m glad they aren’t doing that… I barely think I’ll have time to do what they are asking 😂 I might try that Milwaukee blade, I was looking at the Makita saw tonight. The Little M12 3” cutoff with the drywall disc isn’t bad, I just can’t see my line with the dust guard on, makes it hard to cut a straight line
Lenox 20 14 212 4in are the ones that don't wreck stuff behind drywall as well and last considerably longer than thoes milwaukee drywall blades. Your lowes may sell them too.
Great video Morgan . i like that first option . any time you can get more work space the better. Also the mystery junction boxes have made there first apprance. . I cant tell you how many times i ve found a birdsnest and end up cuting most of it out just starting over. Thanks Morgan good job on the plumbing demo.
@@2121contreras Option 1 is what they are going with… I filmed some Electrical work today, but all my GoPro footage wasn’t any good. This is gonna sound funny and I know it's hot but roofs and attic crawl days should require pants. As a shorts guy all year around I get it but safety should be first. I even do rhe occasionally zip off pants for days like that knowing I won't need them all day. Blessed be the one who comes home without looking like a cat mauled there legs.
I recently had to do a job that required making multiple holes in drywall (I think about forty) in an occupied space and had minimal dust with a festool dust extractor. The best part is square cuts width controlled depth and no dust. It's an expensive tool but has payed for itself in spades.
I give you a hint make a pencil line where you would like to cutout then cut the mark line with the knife. This helps sawzall make perfect line and later on it is much easier hanging the drywall because you have square everywhere and I always try to find with stud finder two by fours and cut in the middle so I don’t need to cut more drywall to two by four or add blocking.
I wasn't suggesting you do it this time but for rewires or experimental holes it's a good idea. Even that has a limit too and we just go California patch crazy 🤪
It's hard not to think about all the effort someone put into work you're just destroying. We are all Indiana Jones - discover and destroy :) Good job. I hope there will be more videos from that project. Mixed voice-over and live comments are the best.
