Exciting! How are they doing? Pots are a great idea for linen if you don't have access to a garden. Love the worms that were in the compost. A great sign! Cotton also makes a great fibre plant to grow in pots. When brought inside during the winter, they can be a perennial and keep producing cotton for years.
Unfortunately not great, when the plants were several inches tall squirrels got in the pots and dug through everything. I re-planted and the same thing happened again a bit after they germinated. I need to come up with a better squirrel prevention method before trying again next spring. That’s good to know about growing cotton inside. I might have to try that, thanks :)
@@TheIntuitiveArtificer Those darn squirrels are fibre fiends. Sad to hear they got into the pots. That's disappointing. Sometimes I use chicken wire or hardware cloth over pots if the pests are digging too much. I don't know if it would work in your situation. I hope you keep growing some. You'll get there.
This is delightful. I have been thinking of growing a good fiber hemp, for much the same purpose, but I want to get my edible garden up and running, first.

That’s the plan. I tried a soft mesh the second time but they still got through it so I’m going to definitely try a wire mesh next spring.

Edible garden is important too :)
