That's a lot of machine for the money. Awesome!

I started out with the MEC 600 Jr, and I actually enjoyed performing each step, no matter how long it took, I was enjoying the process. Yes, it's slower than using the MEC 650, but once you feel you are ready to advance to a progressive setup, you better have your ducks, your kanucks and the mortgage paid before you fire that baby up. There are multiple things that can go wrong that if you miss it, or let it get by you, some seriousshit can happen to you when you pull that trigger! For instance, a primer that doesn't seat properly....I'll let you figure out where that's going on your own. Then you can forget to put a wad (and it better be the right size wad for your shells) and that shot that gets dumped from your shot bar cup can land right in with your powder charge, and your crimp will be way off, it will be a mess. Then you have to pull everything off, start over....ugh...it's a tedious mess.....I dunno, you just better be ready for it. I've cleaned up more spilled "Blue Magic" off that progressive press, earned more years in purgatory than I'd like to admit from the words that came out of my mouth.....the worst....is forgetting to put the wad on the punch

If your shooting an over and under or a single barrel trap gun you really don't need to resize the brass, thus making it easier to crank the handle and not having to worry about seeing the hull seat in the collet sizer like on the Grabber, you have less parts for something to brake or go wrong. But am curious in the video did you have your shells already primed, this is an older Mec 650 and you would have had the older style primer feed on the machine and to go that fast without a hiccup from the primer dispenser is pretty good.

Since that reloader doesn't size the brass, do you size it in some other way, or is it unnecessary?

Do you have the Universal Charge Bar D for it also? If so, how is that working out?

You have to size separately, not shown. If I tried to move at that sped up speed something is going to go wrong.

I'm 100% new to reloading. I'm assuming this MEC 650N is definitely worth the upgrade from a MEC 600JR Mark 5 considering you can load (6) shotshells at once... Right? I'm gonna be reloading .410 bore 2.5" shells.

I know its a year later but no one answered you so I will give you my .02. If you have never reloaded, I would start with a single stage press. Using a progressive is certainly a time saver, but there is a learning curve. You need to really know your machine as far as what each station is doing and where it should be set. If my wife is around, I dont even bother running the press. It takes total concentration. Do yourself a favor and start with a single. If you really enjoy reloading, make an upgrade later.
