My grandfather was a fisherman back in the 70’s, things where different back then. When Black Fish where running the entire Beach was full, maybe 50 to 60 people fishing if not more. One time a guy was a boat kept coming really close to the shore, snagging as may lines and laughing, he would do this every 30 minutes. Finally all the fishermen past the word down the line to just have sinkers on their lines, no hooks. When the boat came bye to snag all the lines, all of the fishermen casted their 3, 4, even 5 once sinkers at the boat. They hit the boat and the driver on the boat a number of times, my grandfather said, he never tried that again. Rest In Peace Grandpa…..

I used to do similar when Salmon fishing the river from shore.
Drift boats would come through and snag our lines and keep going....costing us lost line and lures.
Next time....I rigged up with 50lb Spider wire and when they drifted by snagging our lines I reeled in theirs and cut it.
Reel your line in when drifting past shore fisherman or get your line cut.

Two-he is in violation of harassing fishers or hunters in the lawful process of a lawful and licensed procedure. 3- he stole a crab trap, again, obstruction of a legal and licensed operation. I know that we'll only see good guys behaving responsibly, while taking it on the chin from bad operators. I know that this is the age when thugs get protection from legal actions while performing mostly peaceful protests, while burning up and looting commercial properties and burning down police stations. Props to you for taking the high road. Unfortunately for me, I've been 100% single by choice for decades, so the instant you said you're a lover, not a fighter, I knew I would not have handled it the way you did. But, again...that's being critical of myself. Since I have nobody to love, I'm turned on by fighting, but only when somebody begs for it and I strive to never disappoint my partner. That being said, it always takes a bigger man to walk away, especially when that bigger man (like yourself) is obviously quite capable of inflicting harm, but makes the conscious choice to refrain. Much respect to you.

If that was your son with you, you honestly did the right thing by keeping your cool. Back in the day though.. at 7yo I rode on the gas tank of my dad’s motorcycle screaming down the road chasing a guy because he flipped my dad off in traffic. The guy made the mistake of stopping.. my pops drove a k-bar through his car door, kicked his window in, pulled him out of said window, and beat the crap out of him until the cops showed up. As the story goes, the guy was ticketed for reckless driving. Ah, the good old days. That guy was lucky
