DI + perfect shield after gettin in the combo man, with some characters like Cpt Falcon you can even shield the first uptilt :) As a mario mainer, I use this combo for judging the game knowledge of my foe, it's pretty useless once someone just find he can dodge the stuff, even if he dont know how, he will find it quick
Even when you have around 30% and the first Utilt goes off, you can Hold your control stick Diagonally away to avoid the following hits, it's not hard...
Dthrow Dtilt Dtilt UtiltUtilt(Utilt(UtiltUtilt))Shorthop Uair Uair jump Uair Uspecial 60% dmg cheap as fuck these brackets mean weight classes(the deeper in them the heavier they have to be for it to work)
***** At 0 percent, where a lot of characters can avoid other up tilts, it's best to go for Up throw to down air. It's a much more reliable combo early in the match anyway.
I love that you took the time to play each character on a franchise appropriate stage. Wish I could give you a second like just for that attention to detail.
666blaziken Funny how that type of comment is exactly the one below yours(from my point of view, at least. Dunno if that would change for anyone else). XD
quick question: would you recommend the super jump for doctor mario as a custom? it does give him more height (which lord knows he needs) on his recovery but it loses the hitbox
It's tough to say because normal up b helps him escape multi hit moves as well as being a great out of shield option, but you could sacrifice that for more recovery.
+chungo I have an idea! Keep his normal Up-B for all the stuff Cartererer said but switch his Down-B into custom move #2 Soaring Tornado, a great kill move and if mashed, a great recovery option! Use Soaring Tornado with his normal Up-B and you got a great recovery (sort of but it still works).
Going back and watching this again after a while (this time all the way through), it reminds me how fun customs were/are. It also reminds me how Marth's jab used to jab lock. Then they had to "buff" it to be a kill setup move, thus taking away many of his setups in the process. Seriously, they could've made down tilt into a kill setup instead so we could still have his jab lock.
additional jiggs combo: short hop up angled pound blitz (may have to change angle depending on weight & fall speed) to double jump default rest. can kill a midweight around mid 30's with no di
For those of you that want a quick way of getting custom moves, I discovered that all-star mode is a surprisingly good method, but you should play as the character you want to get custom moves for.
This makes me want to play Smash 4 again. It’s understandable that these were broken, but it makes for a great casual experience. I do however think that Mii Fighters are better in Ultimate since some moves were altered with Sword fighter being much more viable and Brawler has new moves like suplex.
Wow you are the first person to make a combo video of this :O That's why you are one of my favorite Sm4sh players (not to mention you're still the best mario in ssf2 :P)
There are a few combos I've seen in Sm4sh involving Ganondorf and his ridiculously good side and down b custom moves. The multihit side b can combo into itself if the opponent doesn't roll forward to tech after being knocked down, after which the long diagonal down b will combo onto an opponent trying to recover in most cases, with about 7 characters who can't dodge or avoid it at all, and around 30 characters who can't DI it at all after certain percentages. Additionally, A fast enough Ness can combo the multihit thunder with PK Fire or Bonfire for huge amounts of damage and stun. Also, as a Link main I can confirm around 20 combos he can perform using proper bomb setup, and aerials and a grab or two, one of which is only possible on Smashville that cannot be tech'd, lasts around 7 hits, involves the regular bomb, quick arrows, regular boomerang, and any of the spins, save for the non damaging one.
A shame that 90% of this video would never work on a person with DI/the ability to tech. Many of these customs are useful, but most of this video is terribly impractical.
Some people also like to wait it out on the ground and have their enemies run at them before they get up with attack or roll. If that happens, you can take advantage of Link, Doc, or Mario's quick projectile right after they land. You have to be really precise and fast though.
The only situations in which you cannot tech are after being footstooled or when sliding off a platform from a weak attack that doesn't take your feet off the ground, both of which are trivially easy to avoid, Everything else can be teched with ease and the slightest bit of foresight, and and most of the initial hits in this video don't do either of the aforementioned untechable situations.
I know people are like "you can tech these" true but these combos are for what if situations. If you aren't skilled in punishing a failed tech, you might be throwing away a lot of matches. These combos are like Street fighter 4 vortex combos. If you aren't skilled in escaping the vortex you're gonna be taking a lot of damage. Same can go for Smash 4 failing to tech a combo. So if you wanna get better at Smash you better know how to punish these failed techs to it's fullest.
+Sergei Acenas It's hard to tell a lot of new comers about jab locs in smash. You have to do it to them to make them understand. most skilled players will tech, but there are setups to for jab locks. pikachu's forward throw and N-air are good Moves to catch even the highest of level players off guard. oh well stuff like this separates skilled and beginner players and I like that.
TheRealCartererer Some of the combos can easily be escaped but besides that, thanks. I'm definitely going to use some of these when I battle with custom moves :)
I noticed (and tried out) the up air do d-air for kirby and that doesn't seem to be a true combo. Is it a trap? So if they jump they're trapped in it and if they air dodge the invincibility will run out before the move ends?
Can I just say how INSANELY early Ganondorf's 2nd custom up-b (dark fists) kills at? I mean the thing can kill mario at like 60 percent, AND can be comboed of of side-b #1 if the miss the tech!
Damn I knew the existence of the down throw to chain judge (less risky than judge) but i thought it only worked at low percent, i forgot it could work at high percent if you jump after the throw.
Some of these combos are rather... strong. Like melee strong. I want this. Now for the TO of some big tournament to deny customs because they're "Too OP."
Nice Mario, Luigi, Link and Kirby tech, though the Kirby neutral B worries me (more testing!) A few questions, does getting hit while in that Hard knockdown state (don't know the term for it in Smash, but you know the state of knock down that allows you to do the 3 hit jab lock combo.) force you to only recover standing up? Like you can't recover/tech that any other way? (I'm mostly referencing the segments where you use fast projectiles to combo while they are in Hard knockdown.)
yes ever since melee if you are hit with a weak attack within the first I think 20 frames of landing on the ground you are forced to do a standard get up so the opponent gets a free follow up. However if you are hit after the first 20 frames of landing you still have control of all your get up options so you gotta be quick if you want to force them into a standard get up.
Are you talking about a Jab lock combo? That requires three fast light hits, otherwise it doesn't force a neutral recovery. Try on a person and they can still influence the ground recovery until the third hit, so you'd have to change the combos for a lot of these, although the fast fireball/pill customs for doc and Mario would probably meet the frame criteria for jab locking at close enough range.
Bob bobby brown the boblicious bob murderer and god of all worlds He probably meant "up to three hits". If you hit a grounded opponent more than 3 times, he can get up any way he wants: get-up attack, roll, normal get-up.
Clearly this person is not versed in the art of Mario down grab, uptilt, uptilt, uptilt, uptilt, uptilt, uptilt, uptilt
DI + perfect shield after gettin in the combo man, with some characters like Cpt Falcon you can even shield the first uptilt :)

+Triixster So fucking majestic.
Triixster I 100% agree with both of you!

It was so OP especially with that custom cyclone. I miss Smash 4 Luigi.
The fact all of these are performed on Diddy makes it all the sweeter.

No jiggly puff did one on link
Kangdide also link did one on ganondorf
G&W did one on Zelda and Falco
ikr he’s an ass
You managed to make Hyper Voice, Pound Blitz and *Leaping Rest* actually useful in some way.
I'm convinced you are made of MAGIC.
The Scout Here pound blitz is actually good.
And leaping rest lets you up throw rest. It's not good, but it's there
I always use Pound Blitz, and sometimes Hyper Voice and Leaping Rest.
Leaping rest it's SO GOOD i don't know what you're talking about
@@googa9689 agreed, leaping rest is amazing
I love that you took the time to play each character on a franchise appropriate stage. Wish I could give you a second like just for that attention to detail.
INB4 people saying, "oh, well any good player can get out of these combos using DI and spot dodging, there are no combos in smash 4."
666blaziken Funny how that type of comment is exactly the one below yours(from my point of view, at least. Dunno if that would change for anyone else). XD
They wouldn't be wrong since you could easily tech and DI would make most of these impossible
More than half of these required missed techs. Some two or even three in a row. Smash 4 does have combos, but a lot of these were escapable.
This is so sick! I main Mario and his customs for comboing are just too good! Cant wait to see more!

Depends. Can't perfectly tech every time.
For a lot of these setups, you can. It's more about the situation than a person's reflexes.
Exactly, that's what I mean. Even the best players miss a tech every now and again, and at that point these combos become viable.
Some people also like to wait it out on the ground and have their enemies run at them before they get up with attack or roll. If that happens, you can take advantage of Link, Doc, or Mario's quick projectile right after they land. You have to be really precise and fast though.

Nice Mario, Luigi, Link and Kirby tech, though the Kirby neutral B worries me (more testing!) Like you can't recover/tech that any other way?
ShiftandFriends u can ja b reset in smash4 doesnt need 3 hits sigh
Bob bobby brown the boblicious bob murderer and god of all worlds He probably meant "up to three hits". If you hit a grounded opponent more than 3 times, he can get up any way he wants: get-up attack, roll, normal get-up.
