How To Tie Better Flies - Episode 4: The Runner

In this third episode of our Instructional Fly Tying Videos "How To Tie Better Flies", we are going to Tie the Runner. The Runner is a Concept design that utilizes a Snowrunner/Nayat brush. The Snowrunner brush creates a body with a nice teardrop shape that is hollow and semi-translucent. This makes it easy to cast and gives the fly a great profile in the water. The Runner is tied on a 3mm tube which makes the fly extremely durable. The extended tube in the rear allows for the hook to be either directly inserted or rigged free swinging towards the rear of the fly. Runners can be tied in a wide range of colours depending on the target species and conditions. The size of the fly can be varied by using a shorter or longer haired brush.
