I grew up in New Hampshire and live in Vermont now. I actually lived 3 doors down from the Common Man for 2 years and walked the train tracks past the deer farm to Plymouth where I worked at Biedermans Deli. A fisher cat is certainly a rare sight. I’ve only seen 3 living in the wild and I live in the middle of the woods. I do hear them screaming sometimes at night. It sounds like a woman being stabbed to death. It’s really scary

There are fishers in the Midwest, in the upper great lakes area! I've seen two in Michigan(one in lower peninsula, one in upper). BTW another place you would LOVE would be Michigan, especially the west coast of the lower peninsula(Lake Michigan coast, dunes, lovely coastal towns, lots of forests and wildlife!) and the Upper Peninsula, which is very remote and filled with wildlife like wolves, bears, moose, deer and yep, fishers!

Here in NH, fishers are know colloquially as "fisher-cats", which is technically incorrect - they're not felines, but more closely related to weasels. The story I was told (and I don't know if it's true) is that they were introduced here by the lumber industry to combat another critter that was damaging their harvest: the porcupine. Fishers supposedly can kill and eat porcupines with impunity, quills & all.
I'm 74 now and have only seen one, about 25 yrs ago - it was running through open woods, being scolded & harassed by jays. When I was about 10, we had one in our barn, probably huntng the porcupines camped out there. Never saw it, but heard its scream - not a sound you want yanking you by the hair out of sleep...

All of New England has beautiful views, trails, etc. I have lived in New England my whole life and enjoy each state in New England. A must trip is coming during the first couple of weeks of October and see the colorful foliage, but do reserve places to stay way ahead of time. It's a popular tourist attraction every Autumn and tourists come from all over the world. I never get bored of the Autumn foliage.
You'll have to experience a real blizzard or nor'Easter. A real blizzard has hurricane force winds, snow drifting higher than you and could result in multiple feet of snow left on the ground and burying your car.

Also , the fact that you saw a Fisher, which , as you so rightly said , is very rare, was a big highlight of this trip , because I have friends that have lived in New Hampshire for years, some even living in heavily wooded areas, and have never seen one. And by the way, you did a great job filming it. Now , I have to go get something to eat , because watching you eat that good food,( I dearly love chicken pot pie), has made me hungry. Looking forward to to your next videos. Another excellent job!!. 😎👍👍👍

Oh my, the steamed mussels looked good and the ale with blueberries, Mmmhmmm. I LOVE chicken pot pie! I have never seen a fisher and I have been all over the US. Good for you two. Now a mink and several species of otter. You have probably already seen a ferret. The scenery is gorgeous as are the Green Mountains in Vermont (Autumn spectacular on the Cank in NH) and the Chic Chocs on the Gaspe. You really are getting a well rounded view of the US. Now, Eventually to the South and Texas. It really is a BIG country with so much to see.

It's always fun to have a furry companion during those outdoor excursions. It reminded me of your Arizona videos! Also interesting fact: New Hampshire has a professional baseball team called the Fisher Cats! How fitting that you got to witness an actual Fisher while in New Hampshire! Joyeuses Pâques! 🐣🐰🥚🐇

Wow Marie, you do look sooo very happy. If that smile is a testament to your visit to New Hampshire then i would have to say it was an 11 out of 10 trip. I grew up in western Pennsylvania, not far from where you were in West Virginia, and honestly i have never heard of a Fisher before....but how so very cool that you got to see one in its natural environment. Its looks like you enjoyed some very good food as well, in some very awesome looking establishments. Looking forward to your next great adventure and video. You have come a long way from those reaction video days in your apartment way back when, its so cool to have witnessed this wonderful trip your life has taken. Stay happy. Stay safe. And as always Stay you...... ❤ from fla usa

Thank you for another wonderful tour of some of the most beautiful places to see over here. I've visited Franconia Notch State Park in the past and your trip through the woods reminded me very much of it. I've never seen or heard of a Fisher before, so that was cool to see. Can't wait to see your St. Louis videos!

There's also Rattlesnake Island on Lake Winnipesaukee. Rattlesnakes are endangered in New Hampshire due to habitat loss.

Beau paysage en NH. Une auberge impressionnante. Bonne bouffe. 🙏🏻🥚🐣

I love your enthusiasm, whether its shoveling snow or exploring new places and foods! If you get back to the northeast, early fall is best for the changing leaves. I was just in Maine last fall. Be sure to check out Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. A lot to see and do there. Also Portland Maine is known for its lighthouses. But its a nice city too. Don’t forget Rhode Island and the seaside town of Newport with its mansions.

Excellent picks on your two favorite states (so far). Just to let you know, Maine is, if anything, wilder and more wilderness than New Hampshire, with tons of mountains, woods and lakes -- and plenty of black bears and moose. Vermont is more cultivated, with quaint and pretty little towns all over the place, many of them unchanged since colonial times 300 years or so ago. Probably more cows than bears. Everywhere in New England is well worth visiting.
