Welcome to Tampa! Glad you enjoyed your time in Florida! It's neat to see all the new buildings in downtown Tampa now compared to 2014. I'm hoping to visit Paris & see other areas of France maybe next year. My last visit to France was 20 years ago when I went via train from Luxembourg to France.
Marie, it's fantastic to see you being deliriously happy during your time in Florida. You're normally a happy young lady anyway, but in this video, your smile was ear to ear! I can only hope that 2024 will be your best year yet! Take care and keep smiling!
I am guessing she meant that water was warm when she said “not refreshing”. That’s one thing about the gulf coat, the water is much warmer than a the Atlantic Ocean. The reason is because the gulf is much shallower, so the water can be warmed up in the spring and summer. It’s cooler in the fall. Tampa also has a great aquarium. I don’t know if you got a chance to visit it, but it’s a nice visit. Yes, southern people are much more laid back and more hospitable compared to NY and other heavier populated areas up north. I was born and raised in Maryland, but moved to Florida in 1979 and found out that I was a southerner all along. I never fit in up north, I felt right at home in the south. I still have a lot of family in MD and even they seem too uptight and rushed. I’m where I belong. I married a third generation Floridian girl though and we just celebrated 25 years, but it seems like three years. She’s the greatest.
If you want refreshing water in the hot summer months in Florida you need to go to a freshwater spring they are all over central and north Florida and they are crystal clear and 72 degrees f or 22 degrees c
Glad that you enjoyed our beautiful state. Living here is great. Next visit, you should try to visit some of the natural springs. The water is clean, clear and cool and you can swim.
When we went to Tampa we went to Busch Gardens. We also drove on the Bee Line expressway to Cocoa Beach and visited Cape Kennedy. Disney World was wonderful, my favorite park was Epcot.
I only wish she'd made it over to the Pinellas county side as well, but as a bay area resident (lived 20 years in Hillsborough, 20 years in Pinellas), I'm happy to see she enjoyed the area as well.
I was so tickled to stumble upon your Florida videos. I live about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from the Tampa riverwalk. I own a nearly 100 year old house. I am old school Florida, as my family came to Florida nearly 150 years ago, when it was almost entirely swamps with beaches on the coast. It is very different today. Most people in Florida these days are fairly new, having moved here recently. In 1950 the population of Floridawas around 2 million. Today it is nearly 23 million. WOW!! That's an explosion of people and why we are now the 3rd most populated state. The oppressive feeling from the heat that you mention in your Gatorland video is Florida's infamous HUMIDITY. The heat is indeed hot, but the humidity is like a jungle, especially in August when you visited. It makes it feel like outdoors is just one giant sauna. Even those of us who have had a lifetime of it, will sometimes still complain about it. Some Americans move here, feel that heat/humidity during the summer and say Hell No! and move away. 😂 Winters here in Florida though? SPECTACULAR! Low to no humidity with very comfortable temperatures. I'm glad that you seem to have had a very good time. I myself have been to Europe, but I visited Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Holland. I didn't make it to France, but it is still on my list. 😄
The Animal Kingdom looked so serene! The design of everything, with all the big carved trees and the running water all around was very cool. It made me want to go to the zoo, but it's too cold right now!
I like your videos Marie. Simple , to the point , just showing the sights without a lot of splash , and you do not talk to much !! Music is upbeat and perfect. I would go to these places , even though I have never been to Florida in my life. I feel I get a real idea of what it is like to be there by watchig your videos.

Hi Marie, As a fellow tourist to the Tampa Bay area (I have family who live within walking distance of the Siesta Key beaches), I'll comment on Gulf of Mexico and it vs. the Atlantic Ocean. I was there in April a few years ago and wading into the Gulf of Mexico around Siesta Key felt like stepping into a hot-tub. Turns out the Gulf of Mexico is so shallow around the Tampa area it stays hot year-round. The water felt great in April but I guess would not feel refreshing in August. Later that trip, we went on a scallop diving trip a few miles off of Tampa Bay in the Gulf. That was a fun trip. But I also remember how shallow the water was miles from Tampa Bay...it was roughly 5 feet deep (1.543 meters) and still warm. Contrast that - we went to St. Augustine a few days later and the Atlantic Ocean water was so cold I could not bring myself to even wade out into it. Also, if you ever go to St. Augustine, please go see Castillo de San Marcos Fort. It is the closest thing we have to a castle in the USA and was amazing to walk around in.
I love the video. I could see that you were having a great time. I was constantly smiling watching you have fun. You looked like a real American driving down the road with your Dunkin Coolatta.
Yea, the gulf is warm. That’s one of the reasons why the west coast of Florida gets so many major hurricanes. That warm gulf water feeds the storms. Love seeing you enjoying my part of the world! August is definitely not the best time of year to be here, though.
Bonjour Marie! When my Dad passed in December 2022, he had been living outside Tampa for a number of years, so I've been to many of the places that you showed in Tampa. You said the Gulf wasn't refreshing. Was that because it was warm? The Gulf of Mexico is considered "warm" compared to many large bodies of water, and the Summer of 2023 it was measured to be somewhat warmer than normal. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time in hot, humid Florida and weren't too overwhelmed by the heat and humidity. Thanks for sharing! Bonne Année! ~Be Blessed
Glad you enjoyed animal kingdom. Worked building a few of the shops and other buildings out there. Did the structural timber work for the buildings. Back when it was first built. Never been able to afford to go back an see it open.
I lived in Tampa for nine years. Worked on Harbor Island. You need to be there during Gasparilla festival. You can walk from Harbor Island to the walk without getting your feet wet, there are so many boats in there. They follow the pirate ship in, it's a crazy time. You went to the Columbia Restaurant? I loved eating there. They have a nice one in St. Augustine too that I've been to. I'm kind of rare these days, I'm a native Floridian. I did have some stints living in Alabama, Georgia, California and South Carolina, but I've lived most of my life in Florida, and live there now. Now I'm back in the woods in the panhandle area of the state.
Once again Marie, you managed to find the most beautiful places to visit and you videos are a literal work of art. So well edited and they flow so well. I'm never lost about where you are or how you feel. I'm so happy to be a patreon of this lovely content. Can't believe we are looking back at August. My birthday is in August and that seems so long ago. lol.. I hope your hotel was nice too. I like Floria a lot too. I live in Washington state. A very long way from Florida. ♥
I am so glad you enjoyed your visit to the state I live in. I have lived here all my life and always find something to do. With a fairly good highway system it doesn't take long to get around the state. Loved how much you smiled it really shows how much you are enjoying something. Very fun video and thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
Glad you had so much fun on your visit to Florida. If you ever come back to the Orlando area, make sure to check out a park called Discovery Cove. I've been to all the parks, and this one is by far my favorite. You can swim with dolphins. The aviary is amazing. It's just a cool place. Take care!
At the moment I am watching this video, it is -22 degrees Celsius outside! 🥶 This definitely made me feel like I was in a warm tropical climate. Hope you are staying warm on your end also. Cheers! 🍻🌞🌴🐊✈️ 🇺🇸
Whoa! I can't believe you were in my home town of Siesta Key, strange to see you there! Hope you had a lovely time. It sounds like you left Animal Kingdom before nightfall, highly recommend visiting Pandora at night - it's completely different than in the day in terms of the feeling, one of my fave spots in all of Disney World. Truly feels like you are on a different planet. Flights of Passage is incredible. What a fun trip!
Looks like you had so much fun. I think you really enjoyed this park. That definitely is a place to visit. I sure hope you get to come back in this year. Great video.😊
Siesta beach!!! I've been there! I'm sure the water was as warm as the air that time of year! Such beautiful beaches! Looks like you had a great time! (Awesome to see!) Billy's Crab Shack is a wonderful restaurant over that way worth visiting next time you are in Fla! Glad you survived Pandora, and the alligators of course! I enjoyed your video! :0) 🐺
Glad you enjoyed Florida! I’m 63 y/o and was born and raised in Tampa but, my job took me to numerous cities over the years. I’m now retired and once again living in Tampa.
I really love my home here in Florida. Being so close to the beaches, Disney, the springs(check out my springs playlist) the space center, the Florida Keys,...my home is amazing and I never take it for granted. I was born here on the space coast in 1965 and have never left! Nice video.
Since I live in Florida, I am so happy you didn't mind the summer heat. You were so happy, you seemed like a kid in Toyland. I think you should become a Florida girl with a Mustang. I hope you are doing well and staying warm. Take care and be safe.
I believe she was joking because the water temp in august and september is in the 90s thats why its just wet and not refreshing. It literally feels like bath water.
The last time i was in Tampa I went to the dog tracks, I came out $20 ahead. Here is a like and comment to help your channel grow and get you the recognition you deserve.
I hope you had a super strong sunscreen on for your beach trip. I got completely fried on the white sands at Clearwater Beach and was in agony. Needless to say, I don’t tan, I only fry! No more beaches for me!
Nice dancing in the line! The "Tree of Life" sculpture is cool. Trivia fact about it, it has a 428 seat theater in the root system, and 337 carvings of living and extinct animals on it including "David Greybeard" the famous chimpanzee studied by Jane Goodall that was carved in it after her visit.
Just thought I’d let you know why the water in the Gulf of Mexico isn’t “refreshing” is because it is very shallow and the water stays warm most of the year. It doesn’t get cold like the Atlantic or Pacific. A fun fact…. Blue fin tuna actually migrate from the Pacific Ocean to the gulf for spawning or “mating”.
Ah Marie, im a little sad knowing how close you were from my home when you were at Siesta Key beach, i live just over 30 more miles south of there and would have loved to have met you. We visit that beach a few times a year just to experience that beautiful white sand, it has topped the list as best beach in America quite a few times and is always top 5. I will say that you wear Florida very well, your smiles and very apparent happiness was just so great to see. I love Tampa, it has so mush to offer for all ages. I think you would have really enjoyed Busch Gardens Tampa Bay also as its a combinstion amusement park and zoo. Im curious as to weather you crossed the Skyway Bridge when returning from Sarasota? It is a spectacular ride out and over the bay. I agree with you about the river walk area, i also really enjoy walking Bayshore Blvd. Im so happy you enjoyed your time her and that the heat was managable for you, you get to breathe a little that time of year because for 9 months it can be so very crowded. Cant wait for the next video.... ❤ from fla usa. Stay safe
0:09 you got to ride one of the trams i made, we just delivered that to animal kingdom a year ago, i paint chop and layup the roofs and install the lighting and speakers, though this order didnt have any if i remember right.
I love the Gulf Coast beaches in Florida. White sands beautiful green or turquoise water. Gulf of Mexico water is warm. Anna Maria Island is my favorite.
Marie, I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to Florida, and more specifically, my hometown of Sarasota! Siesta Key beach is amazing, but brutally HOT in August! IMO, the best time to visit Florida for outdoor activities is February through May, when the weather is similar to San Diego. We're looking forward to returning to Europe this summer! Safe travels.
Florida somewhat has a French vibe except sit's a place where the people speak English and Spanish mostly but still has a French Mediterranean vibe coursing through it as well due to the Latin in It.
I'm a Florida native and currently work on Walt Disney World property, as well as all around Florida! My favorite beaches are along the Florida Gulf Coast- especially the Emerald Coast stretching along the panhandle. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time at my home away from home. ❤️😊
Thanks!
My goodness that is way too generous!!! Thank you!!! 🙏😳
You are very welcome Marie! My pleasure, really!@@FrenchTasticExplorations

Drove right by me! lol I live between Tampa and Siesta Key. Glad you had fun here!
I live 20 mins north of Tampa lol, I’m glad you liked it here.
I'm happy to hear I-4 to Tampa was a nice trip for you, that highway can have horrible traffic
Marie, it's fantastic to see you being deliriously happy during your time in Florida. You're normally a happy young lady anyway, but in this video, your smile was ear to ear! I can only hope that 2024 will be your best year yet! Take care and keep smiling!

Well, I’m going to have to go back to Florida. 😅

I grew up on Siesta Key, wish you could have seen it and sarasota when it was a art and circus community.
In South Florida there used to be an attraction called the Parrot Jungle.

The Sand is So soft!
Go to Weeki Wachee Springs

Oh my 😳 thank you so much!!!! 🙏🙏
If you ever go back to FL go when Jeep week is ON.
If you think the water was warm in Florida, wait until you get to Mexico or Colombia. It like swimming in a bath tub.
Glad you had such a great time at Disney. Just FYI, you only saw maybe 1/10th of what it has to offer. Hope you go back
You drove right past me. 😲
Did you check out Busch gardens?

Every place is nice on vacation. Live there for 5-10 years.
Ive lived in Florida my entire life beside a couple of years in the military I'm 36. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
Stay safe
Nature Girl, you would totally love the drive from Miami to Key West. That is one dreamy ride through the Everglades.
0:09 you got to ride one of the trams i made, we just delivered that to animal kingdom a year ago, i paint chop and layup the roofs and install the lighting and speakers, though this order didnt have any if i remember right.
Awesome ✨
I love Animal Kingdom! We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge our last two trips and it was SO nice!
Were you really riding on a live alligator, or was that some fake gator for tourists to take photos on?
Florida somewhat has a French vibe except sit's a place where the people speak English and Spanish mostly but still has a French Mediterranean vibe coursing through it as well due to the Latin in It.
I'm a Florida native and currently work on Walt Disney World property, as well as all around Florida! My favorite beaches are along the Florida Gulf Coast- especially the Emerald Coast stretching along the panhandle. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time at my home away from home. ❤️😊
Fills our American ❤s just to see yours full! Happiness is a wonderful thing!.. life is too short to be miserable.. so glad ya had fun🎉
If you wanted to see real Florida should've gone south of Sarasota and there's a lot of crystal-clear springs in the middle of Florida
Why was the wildebeest alone? Very unnatural.
Lived in South Florida for 5 years. Never visited EPCOT or Walt Disney World. Always felt they were for families.
Frenchtastic and Outdoor Boys both having florida videos. Who woulda thunk it lol. May be the same state but WHOLE LOT of a different experience
