I think when it comes to recycling stuff the most important thing is knowing what your game looks like and what you would be recycling. If you pick the tree items, you will get more items to recycle, which increases the value of the recycle item. If you play a build with high luck it increases the value of it. If you play a character that has a lets say narrow selection of stats that it needs (engineer for example) increases the value, since you will sell quiite a few more items.
You need to really focus engineering for it to be viable late game in danger 5. Although the healing turrets I've found to be useful for a lot of different builds
The shuriken is great early but it seems to fall behind on scaling later on. You got a little unlucky on getting weapons in the shops and ended up with purples (critting for 59) and blues (critting for 46). That's a lot lower (half?) than what a lot of other weapons get up to. The speed and dodge parts of this build seems to be what carried it over the finish line.
The scaling on the shurikens goes up a lot as you upgrade them, getting 50% melee scaling (which is basically equivalent to 100% ranged scaling) and up to 4 bounces on crits. The issue is that they only deal 1.25x damage on crits. Compare this to slingshot which has 80% ranged damage scaling, 4 bounces on every hit, AND they deal 2x damage on crits. Plus, you get the health from primitive weapons bonus. If you scale up the shurikens they do clear really well, but their scaling and single-target damage is just kind of weak for how much needs to be invested in them to get to that point.
Slingshots are one of the best base weapons in the game right now IMO. They are an upgrade over shurikens on any character that doesn't have a character bonus to melee damage or penalties to range damage. Not needing to actually take crit to get your bounces. Plus if you want to take crit, actually have it boost your damage by a decent amount. Additionally 15 hp is just better than 15 crit no matter the situation. I think the only thing that may be in shurikens favor, is there seems to be more item sources of flat melee damage than ranged damage.
@@danielgloyd4529 Melee damage is worth about half of ranged damage, so you get twice as much in levels and on items in general. That's why I say 50% melee scaling is *basically* the same as 100% ranged scaling. But even with that math applied, the shurikens only scale a bit better than slingshots at the cost of 75% crit damage and needing 100% crit to bounce as much. They may be a bit faster? I prefer slingshots 100% though.
@@CrashTestCollin I was aware of the 2:1 ratio for melee:range. I meant shop items in general. I don't know all the shop items off hand, but to me it seems much easier to find items to boost your melee damage. If you want to boost your flat damage It's just going to be more consistent for melee, and the melee items tend to have better secondary effects(HP, XP gain) where ranged damage items are just damage at the expense of something. Especially in the common and blue rarities. Charcoal, steroids, mastery, claw tree, goat skull, blackbelt, and the muscley dude. Whereas for ranged damage, you really only have, lens, scope, mutation, and magazine.
On danger 5 you very rarely make a build which crushes all enemies, and even if you do it's usually at a cost to something else. Try knight if you want high dps and tankability
Idk what u guys are smoking but u don´t need to stack survuvability ever. If u have the dmg to one shot everything u just need to dodge boss stuff on wave 20. I had a 10 sec wave 20 clear with full dmg. So why waste ur money on survival stuff if u can just overpower the enemys? Yea it will be stressfull sometimes but no risk no fun. It is so boring beeing tanky af and just play bad bcs u know u can´t die.
