ROBERT! Thank you so much for this. I was intimidated to try and learn this when you first posted this breakdown in 2019. But I finally sat down to do it a couple months ago and I actually have it now. More Angus please!!!!
I have to say that the solo for the song Ride On is one of my all time favorites, it has so much feel I just love it, I had to learn it by ear cause all the tabs are just flat out wrong. Honestly I suggest for everyone to learn it by ear it just better for your playing in the long run.
I remember as a kid when i first learned the intro to back in black. Later on down the road i learned the entire song up until the last solo and i could not find out how to play it anywhere. Thanks for recognizing such an amazing solo and hopefully this gives another kid the chance to learn the entire song. Keep jammin my man!
Nice man. Outro solos tend to have a cool mojo to them. The outro solos from Round and Round, Stone In Love, Rosanna, and a few more are usually overlooked, but have many a gem in them..
Absolutely loving these lick/solo videos Robert! Learning just a few of these has helped me a lot. Their like Lay's Chips, you can't just eat one! Thanks brother! Peace!
Dude, what a wicked-ass segment. I've always been stumped by so many of Angus' solos. You nailed it - it's the Angus scale! Thanks for deciphering that and making it "make sense" for me - and applies to so many other AC/DC songs too, I'm sure. I ran across somewhere someone did a "Slash scale" too. This is the stuff I think needs to be taught more to help people learning guitar soloing not be afraid to look for those notes outside the "minor pentatonic" scale to find those phrases and melodic lines that just grab you. Angus' vibrato is a whole other other segment - someone needs to make a vibrato course.
HELL YESS.... Thank You... There are so few Angus solo-lessons...I really apreciate it thanks...Once I learnd the "Ride On" solo...but I forgot parts and I saw, that the guy deleated it..Man I was so pissed of... As I have a desease which handicaps me, I began to learn guitar 5 years ago; and I play for hours every day..thanks to that free lessons..I have not the bucks for a teacher... Pple like You are giving a meaning to my life...I do not know what my life would be without my guitars. Greets from Switzerland
Damn. Angus’s vibrato is impossible to replicate exactly. I just wish I could get as close to it as you. I have a natural wide vibrato too, but I’m also slow with it. You have that fire in it. Thanks for the lesson.
I'll tell you all what I find interesting: The very first time I listened to John Mayall and the Blues Breakers featuring Eric Clapton (the Beano album), I couldn't believe how much it sounded like Angus Young. I know Angus always gives credit to Chuck Berry but, I think he directly copied that style almost perfectly. You can't listen to that Beano record, and tell me that you don't hear Angus Young perfectly. I mean, you almost don't even have to tweak the amplifier settings. It's just so remarkably similar. My favorite part of that song is when Ang plays b---12b---rrr---10~ And then Brian Johnson screeches what sounds like "OUTTA SIGHT!" Or perhaps "OUTTA THE SACK!" It's impossible to hear That little lick is just so good right there. And I agree: That part to around the 20th fret is so fucking good
@@RobertBakerGuitar dude that was great only difference I see is he totally bangs on the strings real heavy player Probley changes strings every other day myself I like to see how long I can get them to last
Great video Robert. Thanks so much for taking the time to show us the cool licks Angus puts into his song. I never try to learn solos note for note but just try to put my own leads together so it feels right in the song. Some guitarists play the same licks and others just what they're feeling at the time as long as the timing of the song is together. (Rusty)
Good job dude! This piece is hard to nail at speed in one take. I've had to change a few things after this. You put your work into this one, because it's as close as anything I can find.
Great breakdown man! Heh, heh...anyone think Angus put as much thought into playing it as we just did breaking it down? I think “nah,” he just played what felt right...it just flows from talented guys like that! 🤔✌🏻🎸
Thanks for this video - nice work. With the little fast run parts it would help to just play them through in time but super slow at least once. You play them either at full speed or disjointed by explanations of what each note is etc. I just mean for timing's sake it'd be good to hear it played slowly in time.
You did really good I am a big fan of Angus myself, I’m a woman and I want to play the guitar myself but I am a new guitarist I have been trying for two years and very bad struggling I have a guitar similar to Angus’s.
Those licks. So tasty! The more I listen to the solo on the recording, the more that second signature lick sounds like the same one as before, just with a really quick bend up to the major third. Sounds a lot cooler, it's just a "bit" trickier haha
Cool vid. You did a good job representing Angus.just forget about anyone getting his exact feel because its his exact feel. All you can do is get the spirit and flavor. SOmetimes the harder you focus on picking each micro exact note the less flavor you give the phrase. So good job once again. Ain’t no angus but angus. !
Right on!! Digging this man! Always love to see & hear that Cronus dude! Excellent video as always & I've been playing that end run wrong for like ever...... I'll definitely nail it now!! Thanks man! Keep doing the good stuff!🤘😁🤘

You should do a video on your guitar collection, how you got those guitars, and when you got your first guitar, lastly what was the easiest way for you to learn to play, who were your major influences and etc. IF you see this comment please like it so i know you seen it lol.
I totally judge rock radio stations on how much of the BiB outro solo they play... if they cut off before the part at 0:31 to 0:34 then they get 0 stars.
TBH, I don't know it, but it should be in every beginner/mid guitarists 'learned things'. It teaches a s-ton of basic/not so basic stuff. Accurate bending, cliche licks, and a good dose of bluesy-ness all wrapped up in one solo. Angus Young is underrated for his prowess of the minor penta. All his solos fit the songs perfectly.
ROBERT! Thank you so much for this. I was intimidated to try and learn this when you first posted this breakdown in 2019. But I finally sat down to do it a couple months ago and I actually have it now. More Angus please!!!!
That GUITAR!! 🤤🤤🤤
I love it so much
I want them both haha, and that Fender you did a while ago Darrell. It's Alive! 🤤
Yess! It’s so sexy
Which one? The first one or the second one?
I've always thought that the outro solo was the more impressive one.
It's far more expressive and it features some of Angus' fastest ever runs.
Great solo! That bend release thing was always a favourite of mine! 👍🤘

The finger tone you have on this solo is incredible, the vibrato is so killer
Nice man. Outro solos tend to have a cool mojo to them. The outro solos from Round and Round, Stone In Love, Rosanna, and a few more are usually overlooked, but have many a gem in them..
Even the one at the end of Stairway to Heaven is kind of ignored for the main solo.
I remember sitting over a cassette player in the 80s teaching myself this.
Damn
I wish I lived in the 80's

We all wonder how long the solo goes on for. If only it never faded out

Your tone deserves its own channel. Dear god man.
You are right, nobody teaches that, they merely do approximation with wrong tone, you nailed it, thanks for that!
Dude Angus was what MADE me want to play guitar!!! You are so right and nailed dead on with your content here! From a fellow ohioan; thank you!

It was/is one of the most iconic Historic Rock n Roll guitar solos , of all time. Another that comes to mind is Scorpions' 'Rock You Like A Hurricane.
