Nothing wrong with hop-forward beers especially if that's the style. A good stout is always satisfying though, as are hoppy ales. Guinness is great..but gotta love some Founders Breakfast Stout too!

I call Guinness the espresso of beers. I love it! I did see a segment about how scientists studied the effervescence of this one beer due to the unique flow. Other beers bubble just rise while Guinness bubbles fall, rise, fall, rise for a bit. I love it when the bubbles are active mostly so, yeah, slamming is a thing.
Guinness is actually a fairly light beer. The foam on top makes it appear waaay darker than it really is. If you shine a light through it, it's actually red. The nitrous they use also makes it lighter in the stomach than most beers are, but they serve it in larger cans so it feels like you get full faster. If Guiness Draught is too bitter for you then give their Baltimore Blonde Ale a try.

Guinness is the only beer i will actually drink. I have drank other beers, but i hate them. Guinness for me is creamy thick chocolate and coffee. Dark and slightly savory but delicious as all get out. Once got offered my choice of beer when i was helping a friend move, and when i asked for Guinness they actually gasped in excitement and i was served six cans of Guinness that day. I was nice and buzzed, moving an entire couch by myself at the end of the day because i had the power of the god-damn emerald isle coursing through my veins at that point. Lovely beer, lovely day.
Actually if you're in America, you're probably drinking Irish-brewed Guinness. there are only 5 Guinness breweries in the world (3 of which are in Africa!). It's just that it's markedly better on tap from a bar that know how to store & serve it properly, which is rare outside Ireland.

Guiness really isnt as caloric as one would think, its only got 125 calories which is actually pretty low for a beer
