The desktop version was producing sounds when entering a discord channel but i could not hear anyone in the discord talking, although when I switch to my computer speakers i can hear people talking. Switch back to my headset and no voices from discord just the sounds that play when you deafen or leave/enter discord channel. After trying everything the web version worked just fine. could hear all sounds and voices... so I guess its a bug? web version for now i guess.

Windows button -> type “ change system sounds “ > click tab “ playback “ > find your headset or issue device and right click > click “ properties “ > click “ advanced “ tab > default format set to CD quality or 44100 Hz

i had the issue of not being able to hear anything on discord but for some reason my audio worked with every other application, i don't know if this was mentioned in the video or not but you can also try opening your sound mixer (on the bottom right of the taskbar next to the sound settings) and you can check if discord somehow muted itself.

It was (Audio Subsystem) for me but not (Legacy), it was a new one (Experimental) for some reason, this issue became a thing after i took a 30 mins break today came back and my discord had a what looked like a updated icon and the sound messed up!
not a single one of these will work for me and I have no clue why, I've spent around 4 trying to fix it but nothing happens whatever I do. Does anyone know why? It doesn't work on my phone as well
@@mrsmall2221 I managed to fix it but you have to use a video on how to fix the discord error message. Then you can download it again and fix ur audio.

ok so i was in discord browser and i didn't know either why i had no advanced settings, so i tried going to the actual discord app and they appeared so it's just because you're using browser discord, if you're not then i don't know

Ok so, these solutions work. ALTHOUGH you may not use/hear people in discord ONLY while using the discord app which sucks. atleast now i know the site works. very epic tutorial thanks!
guys just found out something if you guys are having problems like me where your headphones give u a very bad quality sound saying hands free sound and your stereo headset does not give any audio it is because you might be using hands free mic so change the mic and try to change the audio to stereo then it should work go in inputs then just select one mic except of hands free mic then change audio to stereo then the quality will be better

Sorry about that! These are the most common fixes however, if none of these work you may just have to use the browser version

If anyone else wants to know, it was the default format for sound. Needs to be at 48000 Hz. 🚀

Legacy didn't fix it, used task manager, restarted my pc and played with the golden setting of audio. Nothing, nothing.

In my case the discord was using monitor speaker as an output device. I fixed it by going into the voice and video settings.

We would recommend using a repair tool that can scan the repositories and replace any corrupt or missing files within your system.
