It helps immensely but having been stuck on 950 for a while myself, the main reason I busted out and got to 1200 is mainly due to puzzles. A shit ton of puzzles. These videos are great but you need to recognize basic tactics for yourself quickly and that just comes from rote training with puzzles

These are very well paced lessons and the methodology GM Naroditsky uses is, by far, my favorite out of all the ones I've seen. 🙏
From the chaotic understanding one might have of the game, he resolves all that with respect for the viewer, no matter how advanced the topic might be. ☉
Pd. At first, I thought he was Russian, but by reading his biography I learned his parents were a mathematician and a music teacher, and that he studied history at college! 😮

I am rated around 1600 on lichess and have anish giris nadjorf course. It’s my favorite opening as black. From the position shown at 2:21, or similar, white blunders his light square bishop ALL THE TIME, placing / leaving it there to be taken with the Queen without realizing it is an unprotected piece that is under attack. Something I only noticed recently and thought I’d share. Thanks for the video

It feels like the weak square in this game for black was F7, which could be attacked from h5 by the queen, c4 by the bishop. There was a decoy in this particular game to move the white bishop to c4 looking like it was a desperate attempt to protect his pony. Near 13 min into the video?
