They are like good wine: every year they become better. And Erika: maybe her voice is even better after her surgery. The best band on the planet. I hope that one day i might see them live and personally. It's on my bucket list.
Many thanks, John. 'Crazy 'Bout You' - this 16-bar song based on a straightforward chord progression and performed here in the key of B flat - is also on the band's CD called 'Owl Call Blues'. It was recorded in 1935 by Bill Broonzy and the State Street Boys. A magical micro-moment: 01:34 to 01:35, when Shaye runs down those five notes, ending on concert A flat, bringing out the richness of the B flat 7 chord - the sort of thing she does instinctively. Her choice of notes in the following two bars (01:37 to 01:39) is also amazing, taking us through the chords of C minor and F7th to D7th, if I'm not mistaken, though she makes the phrase sound effortless.
I've heard a number of Tuba Skinny versions of this song, and this is my favorite.. The band seems to be picking up on some of the lag timed notes (not sure of the technical term for this) that Erica introduces in her opening chorus. Shay plays something in her solo that makes the clarinetist sit up and take notice. And then the last time thru Erika reinforces the lagging even more. Just a wonderful cooperation of talented musicians.

What a great performance again. Especially I love the solo by Todd on his sousaphone.

Pops if you can help me with other song titles it would be great . We all know you’re the certified expert.
@@JohnDodds36 Good to hear from you, John. It's well-known that I'm a certified *something* !
Reminiscent of "Show Me the Way to Go Home" and, consequently, "The Preacher."
