  • Album: Among Beggars And Thieves (2008)
    Bonus track
    Lyrics:

I've just checked out the Ultima Thule version that people talk about and saying that's better. Jesus fucking christ, don't you have ears? That guy's voice sounds like a buzzsaw, when Blad's voice is higly skilled and he is hitting every pitch and tone perfectly, he is a real professional. Not to mention the other instruments and overall music composition. It's really needless to compare them, the difference between the two bands can be measured in light years.

    • @DrossProwler
      @DrossProwler 7 років тому

Highly subjective. I love both versions of the song. Ultima Thule's I go to whenever I feel like listening to something gritty and gravely. This one is perfect when I feel like something airy and exalted. No need to shit on any of the performances when they're both amazing in their own respects.

The great migration to America. However the grass wasn't greener on the other side and they all were filled with regret or died on the journey. So this song is a lament written by a woman who made it to America.
There is an English version called "we sold our homesteads" also performed by Falconer.
