Frozen Braemar in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland, after Storm Arwen hit in November 2021

- A walk around the frozen village of Braemar in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland, after Storm Arwen in November 2021. The storm brought heavy snowfall and freezing conditions to Braemar, situated high up in the Cairngorms National Park, on Friday 26th November 2021. This film, taken on the 27th, shows the overnight snowfall and freezing conditions, plus damage to trees caused by storm Arwen. The storm damaged power lines and left much of North East Scotland without power for several days.
Views start by the Invercauld Hotel and go past local businesses, The Fife Arms, Hazelnut Patisserie and the Braemar Gathering and Highland Games Centre. The music is a composition called "The Beauty of Cromar Before me" composed and played by Paul Anderson from Tarland.

Some of my ancestors were from Aberdeenshire...but not sure exactly where...they were from the clan Lumsden. I know they dwelled in castles, and came here before the Revolutionary War. Sir James Lumsden was involved in the revolt against England and is buried in Arlington Cemetery and is my great grandpa x 5 or 6 or 7?? Not sure exactly.
A wonderful winter morning! And the music is so peaceful and warm. And I want to wrap myself up in a warm checkered blanket and sit in an armchair by the burning fireplace with a glass of Scotch whiskey, and today I don’t go anywhere. It looks like the residents did just that. 👍☺

Прекрасное зимнее утро! И музыка, она такая умиротворяющая, тёплая. И хочется закутаться в тёплый клетчатый плед устроиться в кресле у горящего камина с бокалом шотландского виски, и сегодня никуда не выходить. Похоже, жители именно так и поступили. ))
И ещё: удивительно, но если бы не вывески и надписи на английском (или шотландском?), можно было бы принять этот городок за такой же зимний небольшой старинный российский городок где-то в глубинке, честно! Вот что делает снег! Но, должен признать, здесь дома выглядят гораздо лучше, хотя они и немного поменьше. Нам еще есть над чем работать.
