Maybe do a popularity poll on which style are you gonna do on Magna Girl. I however wanted the anime/manga style.

be careful when using fineliners on top of colored pencils!! the wax can clog the nib and make it unusable. I wish someone had told me this when I was a colored pencil beginner- rip

Here's an idea: Rin starts a series where in each of the four seasons she creates an art piece based off the name of the season. She would think of things that come to mind based off the season she is currently in. I'd like to see that- and I think that she would enjoy that too! There would be like the season's landscape with a corresponding character. Maybe it could be an annual thing?

I really liked the purple shading on the flowers edge. It made it more cohesive. My favorite was the one with the dots. I liked how soft the flower was and the purple in the background helped to tie it all together
I was so excited when I saw this video because ur the one who got me interested in Scrawler box and I got this box as well! I also learn best about new methods and mediums by copying what I see so that’s what I did with the included print in this box and colored pencils have become one of my favorites. I also surprised myself with how well I did, I’m kinda scared of the liquid pencil tho 😂

Honest tody has been pretty boring for me, and it hasn't gone soo well and your video put a smile on my face thank you for that.
I’d recommend building layers with your pencils and blending with baby oil, (although I think that might only work with oil based pencils, I’m not sure) it smooths the texture so u don’t have to put in as much work!

Oh Poscapencils, I love those. I have a set of 36 different colors & I adore them. My favorite go to coloring medium at the moment. They are oilcoloured pencils and are supposed to be easy to blend & supposedly you can get almost like oilpaint effect with them if you use an oil medium to help with the blending. Haven’t tried that yet so I don’t know how true that is. But I still love them.

i love your videos, i appreciate how versatile your style can be, i am sure in the end of this one you will make something amazing, i just cant finish it... the murder of paper by colored pencils is killing me:) the second you destroy the tooth of the paper there is no blending happening there ... you dont need to push so hard on the paper, you can be a little bit more gentle and give few extra strokes if you wanna give it some intensity. hope you figure pencils soon! good luck!
A little tip on the fineliner, do skribble after using it on pencils to get any wax off :)
The first plant you drew that was "droopy & dead" reminded me of plants in a Dr. Suess book/movie.

and if you like using colored pencils- try prismacolor, they aren't the cheapest, but I've known them to have some of the best pigmentation. but their lead is very fragile, sometimes if you drop them, it breaks on the inside... and you can't sharpen them too much cuz then they can break easily...lol

I remember when I tried that stuff! I think you were supposed to wear gloves with it, but I'm a dumb dumb. I apparently am allergic to it and spilt it on me. Fun night at the emergency room haha. Beautiful video as always rin! You're a real one!

I started by pressing hard to get a lot of color with pencils to fill in larger space or the picture faster. Lately I've learned that if you use less pressure on your wrist and color in lightly and build up the pigment by layering the color pencils it'll not only go on nicely with less pencil lines, but your wrist will thank you later. Though if you use this method you'll want to make sure you have thicker paper that can handle the layering.

A lot if movies (Croods) use this color palette for prehistoric plants, thats probably why you feel like this color palette is prehistoric! :)

I may be wrong, but the way I understood it was that the liquid white pencil wasn't so much to be like a white highlighter so much as it was to provide a white layer on top of the coloured pencil, so that you can then put a different colour on without it being effected by the original colour underneath (ie so that it's a separate layer and not blending in with the other colour), like at 19:31 when you put the fan one in over the peachy flower? Or perhaps it was both?
These coloured pencils seem to be nice and smooth and blend really nicely, and it was a nice colour selection (the light orange? Looked like an almost ideal light flesh tone), but it was lacking green and/or yellow. But Rin, its no wonder your wrists & hands hurt after using coloured pencils (as you mentioned in another vid about them). I used to do the same things: gripping the pencil too tight & too low down (by putting so much pressure behind the pressing down & the colouring action, it in turn puts so much pressure on your joints), and then trying to get all the pigment down in one layer rather than building up the layers slowly; for example look at the difference with how loosely and high up you hold the col-erase pencil when sketching at about 8:58 to how you hold the pencil while cololuring it in at 10:32. Not saying you're doing it wrong because I don't think there's a right & wrong way when it comes to art, but it would be much gentler on your joints (speaking as someone who has hypermobile joints and gets a lot of pain from holding pencils) if you use a similar looser & higher grip while colouring as you do while sketching, while you won't get as much pigment down as quickly and will have to build a few layers, you should be able to do so without ending up hurting as much. 🤷♀️ just my suggestion, and you're a much better artist than I will likely ever be, so it's just a thought that might help reduce pain and help you love colouring pencils.
As always the pictures you produced were very pretty. You make flowers look so simple to draw/colour yet so pretty and obviously flowers etc, something I can never achieve, I think I try to overcomplicate when trying to draw/colour flowers and they just end up a mess. I did think it would have looked cute to see a little fairy girl hiding amongst them foliage or something, and I hoped you might do one with a person in the last pic when you said one last portrait (but then later realised you were just talking about the paper orientation lol), but alas no. I think the penultimate one was my personal favourite though.
I'd love to try these pencils and wish I'd thought the box while it was on sale, the past boxes have all gone up in price now to £18.95 from the original £17, not sure what that was in US$ (and I feel like the subscription has increased slightly too?), I'll have to wait and see if they do another sale or look elsewhere for the pencils; at the moment it looks like they're for sale individually on amazon UK for £3.99 each, so if that's the RRP then buying the box would work out cheaper & more worth it, seems they're pricing themselves similar to polychromos but that could just be because of the import? They're probably much cheaper in Japan as I believe the paint markers are.
Looks like the Posca paint markers are about equivalent to £13 in Japan for 15 vs the £26 for 8 on UK amazon & $37.87 (£27.81) on amazon US for same 15 set as the Japanese one, the range is much bigger in the US site than what we seem to get on amazon in the UK too, but it also looks like many are currently unavailable [all currency comparisons were made using an online converter]. I'm not seeing the pencils on the Japan or US Azn to compare though, which is a bit odd.
[It's gone 6am, I fell down a 2 hour rabbit hole of comparing cost vs quality of different coloured pencil brands across the 3 , i'm sleep deprived and loopy, so apologies for any glaring errors or poor wording].
Finding out that waffles has updated is always the highlight of my day

Pen nib windows are the best! They allow me to check the shape of the nib without taking off the nib, we definitely need more nib windows!
