If you put your opening for the candle either as a lid or cut a whole in the bottom to set the pumpkin over the candle, you can then turn your pumpkins around and use them as part of (US) Thanksgiving decorations through November.
You took the fake pumpkins from boring to quite adorable. I learn something every time I watch a video. You are a treasure.

Speaking of the Blue Patterning/Crafting Table of DOOM… can you tell us more about it? Did you make or buy it? What is the blue? How big is it? For that matter, I’d 💜 love 💜 to have a tour of your sewing area and tools.

I love the shape of the eyes on the 1st pumpkin. It's a familiar delta shield shape used in Star Trek for their communication badges usually it has a symbol in the center. I just love his eyes tho. Live long and prosper, Closet Historian.

I love the idea to angle the cuts to give a light colored edge around the cuts! I never thought to do that. Do you ever make a diorama in a large pumpkin with a large hole cut in the side like a window? I try to make one most years now with some moss, a black cat or Skeleton or some other figure, maybe a tree made from a little branch, etc.
That sounds super fun!
I do love the derpy pumpkins. I've decided to try the organic variety myself, so I've just put them in the ground for next May -- because I will drag this hemisphere into the correct seasonal celebrations even if it kills me! (Yes, even though it's Spring down here, the stores are full of Halloween and Christmas stuff. Sigh.)

... Considering many of us don't have a backyard compost, or access to buy pumpkins from small local farms that use sustainable practices and pay fair wages and or donate the proceeds to charitable causes...
Yes, making a lifetime investment in these plastic pumpkins may well me more sustainable.
But environmental decisions are always complex.

I adore these lil pumpkins! They're really hard to come by here in Europe, but I managed to find two HUGE ceramic jack o lanterns over the years and I use those big guys on my porch.

Love the beveled edge you cut the faces at. And putting the eyes further apart because it makes them look dumb, which is nice quote had me in stitches! I wish we had fantastic Halloween decor here in NZ

so nice pumpkins. not have any other them my homegrown ones for decorations that are not cut becouse going to eat them. Not sure I have seen foam pumpkins in sweden in a store. need to look for that

Real pumpkins are getting very expensive (at least they are in Texas)…and they don’t last long with the Texas heat. My kids have to carve the pumpkins a day or two before Halloween if they want them for Halloween or the pumpkins will mold and mush if we do them any sooner. I was just thinking this could be a great idea to do each year with children as they age. Do the foam pumpkins and watch how their creativity changes each year and after a few years you’ll have a yard full of decorative pumpkins. It could be as simple as having them draw eyes nose and mouth holes that adults cut out then as the children get older they could start painting them and carving them (with adult help).
My mom definitely has faux pumpkins like these from fifteen years ago, that my brother and I "helped" make, that she still puts out every year!

Thank you for sharing your DIY style. Can you use spray paint as a base color and layer on the other shades with these styles of foam pumpkins? My Micheals only had the cream style pumpkins.
I would be careful with spray paints as they do tend to eat away/melt many foams 😅 Test a sacrificial pumpkin first or go with all craft paints is my advice!
