Did not notice until after editing video. If you look close you will see the lost snap ring inside the splash shield.

Should you grease the bearing while you're in there? And what about the lost oil? Is the oil that was leaking from inside the drive motor?

The bearing is a sealed bearing. And yes, you should check and top off ,or change the oil. depending on how long and bad it’s been leaking you usually won’t lose that much oil.

I was just looking at your one comment about the the oil. I originally missed the question “is the oil from the motor” .the answer to that is no.The oil is from the gearbox. When the seal fails it runs into the motor and out through the fan vents.

@@ranflee1 ah thanks for the reply., That makes sense to me now. I was trying to figure out how the oil was getting out and ending up in areas that it shouldn't be. I should have it dialed now thanks to you.

This is a PE4000. The only way is with a Curtis hand held controller. I will try to do a short video soon. How to use it. If you have a PE 4500 you can do it through the display screen (access1) if you know the passcode. See my video on troubleshooting a crown SC5200 on how to do this. Go in to the performance menu from the service mode.
