This has a more vertical lie angle as well as more club head weight and shorter than the 7. This allows u to stand more upright, club closer to center, like a putter, which allows more control for low velocity swing. The weight of the head helps with follow through. We have many times tried chipping out of thick snarly rough to just get the club "tangled" and move the ball only 3 feet. This will improve chances to "cut through".That being said, this is not new. There have been other chippers out there that have used same principles.
